  • Oxford, Oxfordshire.
Several shots of towers in the city of Oxford at dawn. Various shots of undergraduates at the end of their ball; a steel band plays as the students jig about in their ball gowns and dinner jackets (oh dear) - good shots of people who can't dance! Embarrassing scenes as a male student 'pogos' into the air and girls in repulsive puffball dresses kick their feet half-heartedly in a courtyard.
Various shots of the end of the party; a couple sit on a bench, two girls sit on a small merry-go-round while a man spins it slowly round, couples stroll out of marquees and along the street. Nice shots of an empty champagne bottle and broken glasses on the ground; chairs strewn about; a car in the street with a 'No parking' cone on the roof.
Various shots of toffs in evening clothes in punts on the River Cherwell; some sleep, some punt; a couple stroll along the river bank, a punt drifts past a small waterfall. Nice high angle M/S as a punt is pushed over some rollers to the river; the girl in the front stands and lifts her skirt to avoid the splashes. One of the boys in a tailcoat holds onto his punting pole and falls in the river; he is assisted out while one of his cronies in his punt takes a photo. A bearded man wrings out the evening jacket tails of the unfortunate boy, who then puts his foot into a hole in the river bank and falls down.
M/S of some students heading from the riverbank to a pub for breakfast; a couple in a punt eat sandwiches and drink champagne from plastic cups. The students at the Victoria Arms pub raise their champagne glasses for a toast before tucking into their fried breakfasts.
Good footage of rather horsey-looking Oxford students at play. It reminds you of how old young people used to look. Cuts exist - see separate record.
Note: on file are notes on the film, detailing the locations seen. Cuts exist - see separate record.

the students seemed way more mature. Perhaps the absence of hoodies play a crucial part in that regard.
