Shouldn’t they blame the sperm banks and not the donor? Aren’t the banks regulated? They should be the ones to stop the guy from donating
They blame him to make sensation and profit.
He is kind guy who helped these families to get children and be happy. He stays with contact with around 75% from these families so he text them at the daily basis also drive or fly to meet with them.
For instance when some child had birthday party he was invited and went with whole family to spend some time together.
And btw his confirmed number of children is around 550 not 1000.
I don’t think it’s through a sperm bank he donates directly to them, he was banned from sperm banks because he already fathered 100 at the time. The problem with this is there are too many siblings in one area what if two of them meet and unknowingly hook up!

It's actually less than 10% risk for the first generation. If inbreeding occurs more than that, then it's a problem.
The lack of regulation on this stuff is horrible. There's a podcast about the perspectives of people who are donor conceived, their discovery of dozens, sometimes hundreds of half siblings all over, sometimes worryingly close to them, lack of medical record access, etc. I recommend "You Look Like Me" for those interested in this content.

For a long time this stuff was very haphazard, records were lost or even purposefully destroyed at times, there needs to be legal protections in place.

Yea, the situations are very different. That doctor did the insemination with his own sperms without their knowledge. In this case it was requested by a lot of people to use him and a lot of the requests were done under the table. That's why the documentary with only 4 couples in this coming forward makes sense because they were the only 4 bold enough to not realize how they look. It is hilarious when you hear their reasoning for picking him and all of his red flags, but yet they still got pregnant from him.

Sure...but enforcement is Im sure based on trust....Like any other medical record, I'm sure they ask the question, and he lies. These are normally individual/independent fertility clinics. There's no universal medical records database they're using to screeb for repeating donors.

They are putting the fault on him, and even though we could argue that what he did was wrong, at the end of the day they made the mistake of choosing him since they wanted to be in contact with the donor throughout the childhood.
Bad people in the world will always exist, however in this case they had pretty much full controll. They wanted to chose by hand the best gene for their kids, which is totally reasonable, but that comes with a cost. They didnt choose the first guy because he was "ugly" but quickly choose the good looking guy with a dream lifestyle on paper. Thats should've been a red flag from the beginning.

@@JeremiahKoahou it isn't, it's irresponsible. He lies about the amount of people he's donated to and most of the kids that have come from it live in specific areas/communities in his home country. These poor kids could grow up and accidentally marry their sibling and their own kids could have genetic defects.
It's also gross for the families he's donated to; there are even comments on this video from some of them saying they would not have consented to his donation if he actually told the truth; which makes him deeply, deeply insidious, actually.
I feel like if I hadn't been so wasteful ... I could have beaten those numbers.
