As a Canadian the kit design was so obvious. Look at Germany's template with the black stripe in the middle and white on the sides. Copy that to Canada and replicate our flag. White stripe in the middle with the Canada logo in the middle like a hockey jersey. White V neck collar. Red stripes on the sides and sleeves. Basic block number in black. Red maple leaf on the back middle below the neckline, above the player name in black and number. Canada's flag is so recognizable that it easily could have and should have been the inspiration for the kit.

American here. I'm with you. That USMNT kit is terrible. You asked about the Nike swooshes being on the sleeves. Nike said they drew from basketball and put the badge in the middle. They drew from hockey and added the shoulder pads. And yes, they drew from American football with the swooshes on the sleeves. So, Nike is admitting to not giving US soccer something unique. I hate them for it. As bad as this kit is, the away kit is even worse. You're going to have to add an F ranking and put the USMNT away kit down there by itself. In general Adidas hit it out of the park. Nike failed. The Mexican away kit is one of the best of all and it hurts me so bad.
