The way she talked about how the water dripping into the house, then flooding was like not noticing abuse until it floods really hit different. Because I've recently just been noticing how everything I'm scared of or just uncomfortable with was because of my parents and their abuse. I never realized I was getting abused until now and it's like all of it just hit me at once like some sort of twisted clarity and I can't seem to get out of this flooded house. There's always those few artists that really just portray exactly what you're thinking and/or feeling and she is one of the few.

So this is the reason why the MV has that feeling when I first watched it. I was terrified, sad, and I felt like I was the one drowning. So that is the reason why it felt real. Because Billie did it for real. What a great talented person! The song itself is weird because the transition of the genres in one song felt like a total opposite but actually good! It is weird in a way that the transition is so satisfying. It was so hard to explain. But the first time I watched the MV and heard the full song, I was stunned and I cried.

as someone who dragged themselves out of a 10 year long abusive relationship, the part about her trying to portray not realizing how bad the abuse was before you're drowning hit me so hard. I’m so sorry you went through an abusive relationship, but this album may just help you feel your feelings in a non-destructive way. Billie and FINNEAS’s music is at most times heartbreaking, but it is always beautiful and it is so ironic how uplifted I feel when that last track is over.

I feel like it is helping me confront my darkest and most devastating memories in a healthy way, letting me feel my feelings in a safe space rather than trying to shut them up and make them go away. Her talking about how you don’t notice your being abused until it’s too much then it floods hits DIFFERENT WITH ME!! For so long I didn’t realize I was mentally abused, until a specific event happened with him that made me realize, “oh god I’ve been living like this?” Then all the emotions that were being built up for years get let loose and it just hits you like a wave. This is why I love Billie so much, I can relate to so many of her songs, practically all of them, and the way she portrays emotions in her music videos and her songwriting is something I just adore about her and something so special with the way she writes.
