Hit some trails near the UC campus in Santa Cruz. Mentioned in this video: Vital MTB Inside Line Podcast - goo.gl/BygK7P Also check out Epic TV's take on SC - goo.gl/6eBjFb
I've been seeing lots of snakes on the trails lately. Most of the ones i see have rattles on the tail though. Came across one last night actually. Get that bunny hop dialed! :)
Hey man found your channel a couple days ago and loving it! Want to head to the UC Santa Cruz area to ride this Tuesday. Where did you guys park/ start the ride from?
Thanks Charlie. We parked at the lot on I9 and golf club drive and climbed up Emma McCrary to make our way to mailboxes. We came back down Emma but as Alex mentioned there are a TON is trails that will take you back to I9.
I rode Wilder last saturday on a Hightower LT factory demo. There was some good stuff there, but I knew there were secrets to be found in those hills! Gonna have to do it again on a regular HT and try to find those trails. And those painted water tanks everyone is talking about lol.
SC biking peeps are pretty friendly, if youre at UCSC trails, ask directions for Mailbox, Sweetness, and Magic Carpet. With these 3 trails, you be more than satisfied for a bike trip. Cheers!!!
Nice & flowing, should be a nice change from my local rock garden also called Annabel state park. As for the snake, seen a few during the years, all you can do is keep going, unless you get the head they should be ok.
Trails looks tons of fun. I'm headed to SC this Friday 2/16... can you share directions to this trail? Thanks
CA is such a great state to ride, all kinds of terrain. Great stuff!
+Trail Features as someone would say. We definitely PAY to PLAY around here
CA has some pretty high taxes, the sweat tax is no exception. ;)
Love mailboxes and great job making it down the last step section. Rode there on Sat
Thanks that section is no joke. GoPro effect in full effect
respect for hitting the right side line of the super steep section!! I usually wus out and stay left.

Just rode this area for the first time. It's everything you said it would be. Lots of people and lots of fun.
I'm glad you enjoyed your experience there. I always leave SC happy

I love the Santa Cruz demo experience and the ability to pedal into Wilder is great. That being said the GOOD stuff is off the beaten path!
Nice edit. Just curious do you know trails in SC very well? I've been hitting Wilder ranch and Demo but have been wanting to expand my SC experience.
Steve Y Me too!!!

There are over 25+ drops to highway 9! Everything from flow to World Cup style DH
+Steve Y yeah there's a TON of stuff I have yet to discover as it's only my second time. We should head out here with b1ker one day
MTB Savant pick me as your guide🙋🏻♂️
Nice ride as always! That snake is fine bro. They are amazingly tough.
I hope so!
Next time your in Santa Cruz hit me up! Those last steep sections are always crazy.
+Orbie Pullen for sure dude. If only this b1ker dude would get off his ass and plan the SC gathering event lol
great job on the technical sections!! nice video!
+K FIVEmtb thanks man
Maybe I missed this, but is it only mailboxes you guys are riding?
Haha! You totally ride right past my truck at the end. My lady and I are up there a lot, tons of trails to explore.
Haha, that's awesome. Small world indeed
Great shot of the snake! Btw, that trail looks legit.
Thanks!
Do you have problems with keeping a water bottle uber your frame clean? If not any tips?
It get's dirty no way around that. I squirt some water out before taking a drink.
Thanks for the videos !! Where's that parking section at in Santa Cruz ?
At the end of highway 9 and gold links road
Those trails look amazing
Definitely fun!
I loved riding in Santa Cruz when I used to live in San Jose. Mostly Wilder Ranch. I'm not mad that you didn't bunny hop the snake.
+Clint Lockard there was no time to think. Lol
Lots of flow on those trails. Kind of reminds me of a trail near me called Elm Creek. Just without those steep sections.
+Brian Vaughn my perfect rides have a little chunk and flow
Yeah, ideally that leads to some challenging terrain and some fun. The trails that challenge my riding are the ones I remember the most.
Mailboxes. Love that trail
Manny werd!
That hub is crazy loud! The B1KER channel did a video on how to service it....or welcome the haters!!!
+B1KER I know man! I used the Hero 4 for the first time on this ride and it seems to pick up the hub like crazy.
That's my favorite trail...mailboxes.
+Gonzalo Zamora definitely a fun trail!
Hi Gonzalo and MTB Savant I am traveling to SC by the end of may and want to find someone who can join me and show the local trails.
Great as always man! 🙌🏻

Mailboxes!! Love that trail!
Mail was delivered on time that day!

Nice & flowing, should be a nice change from my local rock garden also called Annabel state park. As for the snake, seen a few during the years, all you can do is keep going, unless you get the head they should be ok.
I love me some Annadel too. Variety is the spice of life!
Is that an i9 hub making that ratcheting sound? That’s loud!
Yep. Loud and proud!
I got to take you to insidious out here, I'll do a memorial vid before we drop in ha ha!

Snakes on a Trail (Snakes on a plane). Sounds like a possible movie. Maybe a sequel for Samuel L. Jackson. Lol
Unfortunately can't make it to your Demo ride this weekend, but can't wait to see the video!
Bummer! I plan on doing a Tahoe ride the weekend after. See if you can make it for that.
