I don't know about your take here. I think he's more upset about the the fact they wanted to trade him. Houston is his home and where he's had his most success. Him admitting that he wasn't happy about losing the closer spot was an afterthought. He wanted to retire an Astro at the end of the day and I don't think he would've been upset with remaining a setup guy if he could stay with the team.

Pressly needed to be traded for his own sake. He gets to reset his market as a closer. He is a free agent next year. If he gets 30 plus saves this year he can get a nice contract next year. He knows it, hence why he accepted the trade.

He shouldn't be happy about it, but should carry himself well, put in the work and pitch 100% when he's called upon. He went out and did his new job with no complaints. And when his team.didn't show the same.loyalty to him, he didn't whine about it, just exercised his no trade in an effort to make sure he could be a closer where he ended up.
I'm struggling to see where you see any problems he caused. Any stuff he said or did that was selfish.

Gotta be honest don't agree with this take, it seemed to me that Presley just said that he was leaning using his no trade clause to stay with the Astros but considering that he got the chance to close in Chicago that swayed his decision. Nothing like Jimmy Buttler's situation, I feel you just shoehorn that in there to make it look worse than what it actually is.
He probably was disappointed he was no longer the closer but wanting to win was okay with it. But if you're not winning might as well be the closer somewhere else no?
So all in all I see no drama here just a guy who got his feelings hurt because he was no longer considered top dog, no problem with that we all have emotions and we may try to look professional but in the end of the day you should just do what you think is best for you and that will be influenced by your emotions for sure.
That don't make him a bad teammate.
And even when Hader joined in he was professional and said all the right things to make ot look like he was okay with it, you cant expect him to actually be okay with it, we are all different prople and it seems to me that while it was important that he looked to be okay with it he kept that mask, now it is no longer needed so just take the mask off no issue with that, people jsut want to see others as what they think they should be and if they are honest about it we just want to judge them immediately

    • @skpdu3505
      @skpdu3505 6 часов назад +1

@@iTalkStudios yeah but bringing something up in the discussion of a topic always influences the others to pay attention to that situation, later when someone would mention this video they probably not remember that it was an extreme example but they will remember that Jimmy Buttler was the comparison used. In a presentation when examples are brought forth the usual result is the correlation that one is similar/related to the example, likely that was not your intention in the video, but that is how it came off (IMO), that is why I called it shoehorned. But hey no hate, actually subscribed and normally watch your videos, just don't agree with all the takes, and think it's okay for people to disagree and argue on certain topics as long as it is civilized.

The closer role needs to go away. It makes no sense. Your best reliever should be used against the other teams best hitters or with runners in scoring position and the game on the line. The best reliever should be called “the fireman” not “the closer”. That’s why the Dodgers gave so much money to Tanner Scott. The Dodgers would never give that kind of money to someone who would only be willing to pitch in the ninth. They are ahead of the curve like always

In the process making history being the only player ever to play in the ASG from both the AL & NL on the same team. And yet he's willing to change from the position he's ALWAYS been in the top 3 in the position, won a gold glove, 7 Silver Slugger's, and 9 All Star Games. To go to a position he knows nothing about if it means his friend is back and the team is simply better, says a lot.

The horse's mouth idiom comes from the conventional way of telling how old a horse is by counting their teeth. Which can be pretty accurate way of determining their age. It's also why the phrase "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" is like that. It means it is socially unacceptable try to determine the quality of a gift.

At the time of Hader signing, Astros needed starting pitching not a closer. Presley did a pretty good job at that for them. Dumb decision to sign Hader.

You clearly don’t side with the players with your whole “shut up and dribble” argument about Jimmy Butler. Who cares if he’s an asshole about it these guys get paid a fraction of what they generate for their greedy owners so they have every right to demand more money and better treatment. You clearly need to do more research on this topic

@@iTalkStudios in other words you believe the teams and owners should hold all the leverage and power over the players. You should use this platform to provide nuance instead of just shitting on players for what you perceive as a bad attitude or whatever

@ In other words...my own words. I simply side with who I feel is right. That may be a player, may be an owner or someone else. Depends on the situation. No need to pick an extreme side for anything. And there are tons of videos on this channel of me "glazing" players haha

@@iTalkStudios in general I really do like your channel and the content you put out. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but this video just frustrated me a bit because it felt like you didn’t give a fair enough shake to the player(s) and it’s almost always a good thing to show where the other side is coming from that’s all

Every single athlete being paid to play a professional team sport replaced SOMEONE that was on that Team and in that role prior to them. So they should all understand that no matter how legendary, dominant, amazing, or productive they were and still are, that their time in that role and on that team is finite. If Joe Montana can be replaced anyone can. We hear all the time that these are highly competitive personalities, and blah blah. Well if you are "highly competitive" and someone is brought in to replace you, you go out and kick their ass (performance wise, obviously) to keep/win back your job, and if you can't do that, tip your cap to the new guy, and either accept your diminished role, or politely request a trade.

I don't understand all the childish pettiness in professional sports. Their grown ass men making millions of dollars acting like little girls throwing a tantrum when they don't get what they want. From my experience working blue collar jobs, I've had more coworkers who made minimum wage who took more pride in their work. Never complained and just did their damn job.

couldn’t pressly saying why bot sign hader a year ago and now saying he was disappointed to be demoted be like saying yeah i understand it’s a business and they made the right choice… but it sucks for me and if i have a chance to resurface as a closer then imma take it? it’s not like he requested a trade or anything, the astros were cool with getting rid of him, and pressly actually enjoyed being on the astros so much that he wanted to stay unless he was guaranteed a promotion. idk sounds really reasonable to me. a guy that understands both sides of the story and wants to ensure that he moves his career in the best way possible when granted the opportunity
