My kids loved volunteering at the food bank and now that they are adults they still volunteer at food banks.. we started when my son was in Boy Scouts. But here in Washington volunteering somewhere is part of the requirements for graduation.. I have volunteered at schools, food banks and clothing banks and so many other places.. volunteering taught me so many lessons about life and to never take anything for granted

My across the street neighbor has food drive at church so she often brings me leftover over load. So thankful so, since i like couponing i like to get things like baby food and things like that to trade that other may be in need of

Love how your food bannk runs. You get alot of stuff aand can eat good food.loved the video thankMama Bear for volenteering your time.. I wish I coulddo that but I use acane to walk got arthritis in the other hand pretty bad and its hard carry much in one hand . I go to get food and when I get home my son he ok ps me b ER ing most of it the house . We can go twi cc e a month. Love your food bank. It is a blessing that I can go and they help put in my car. I thank to hem for the food. You at to he food bank and wveryone else have a good day.

I wish more stores would donate their food.We would not have so much hunger issues if they did. I watched a show once where the boss of 7 11 went undercover and saw the employees throwing out the leftover food like the baked goods. He asked why and was told that that is what corporate told them to do! I agree its so much waste

@@mamabairds thats so nice they do that for the volunteers who have children. Sadly our food bank doesn't offer that. But when the kids hit around 9-10, sometimes younger, they are allowed to help out when their parents/grandparents volunteer. Which is great as well. It's nice they let you volunteer the day you got to go in so it kind of saves you that trip a little bit and gives you the experience of volunteering.

Yes! I'm going to be doing this once a week and I hope to get more footage of our food bank!
Not sure but those veg and fruits that have passed could go to local farmer for compost or maybe even someone with goats or pigs etc.
That's exactly what they do! The trash bags are put outside and the farmers come and get them!

Where does a person go if they don't qualify to go to the food bank. I am on Social Security. I was told I get too much Social Security to qualify to receive food. The state where I live in a single person can make $1, 075 a month to qualify.
I was volunteering at a local food bank where I get groceries and now they say I can't volunteer anymore because it looks like I'm working for food. I really liked volunteering since it gave me something to do. They have basically no volunteers left now and most shelves are bare.
Man that's so sad. Nothing wrong with volunteers taking home food too!
Disagree! All food banks should be for those who cannot afford to shop at Costco etc. It shouldn't be there to top up YOUR kitchen
