Mechanically I’m confident and I’m able to do triple edits/retakes/piece control/tunnels/ quad edits down. I place builds with a side button of the mouse and select the edits with left click. Basically the same as using backspace and then putting your phone on it but its controllable.

Q c e x and shift are some of the binds I would use. Just try and space them out evenly so that you only have one button per finger. Like shift cone, Q wall, e ramp, and c floor or something that like. You can also use x or other binds but it’s tougher to play without mouse buttons
Hey if your water falling and stop yourself with a down ramp, I noticed your key bind to rotate is W and it’s the same as your forward key. Is that so you can rotate a ramp and move at the same time?

If your binds aren't optimal it can be tough to place builds and edit. But assuming that they are, I'd say the problem is your not pressing your keys fast enough and still in the right order. Being able to edit super fast and spam your key is one thing but editing and building is all about timing. Just start slow and keep trying to keep faster but making sure you don't lose the consistency. I'd work on lots of freebuilds while slowed down.

Shift is a great option that I had used and many pros still do use. If you still want to keep v you can try hitting it with your thumb if you don't already do that, it can take time to adapt to but its definitely worth it. If you have a free side mouse button that can work too.
Q is probably one of the hardest binds to edit fast with. I would try unbinding Q and start off very slow editing. Like for the first 3 days just edit walls and do basic tunnelling. I’ve switched my edit bind 3 times and each time this is what I’ve done to rebuild my muscle memory and limit frustration

Make sure you still have right click set as "Reset edit bind". This will allow you to open up edit mode and reset all tiles by right clicking. You can have both scroll wheel reset and manual reset binded at the same time. Also if you do have confirm edit on release on, make sure that it is not on both unless your on controller. Let me know if this helps
If I’m straight up reseting a build, the scroll wheel is set up so that when I scroll, it will open up edit mode, reset the edit, and confirm it so there is no f click at all. If you’re talking about like a cone flip that is different. I am manually reseting the edit with right click and then confirming with f.

If you are talking about for resetting, the only thing you have to do is scroll down your mouse wheel and it will bring you into edit mode the ln reset the edit automatically. And to do an edit I do not use my scroll wheel I use f and right click. I’m sorry if I’m misunderstanding
It is because of your graphic settings. You must have your perfomance mode on low meshes and your resolution could also be too low. Try tweaking the settings and you might get a different result
This is a late response but if your edits look delayed like your lagging it could be something with Fortnite needing fixes but if what you have doesn’t need work and is at its best performance you may need to edit a tad slower even if you feel you are good and maybe rework the basics
The thing I like is that you have natural settings and none of that confirm edit on release or some weird keybinds. This just shows that you don’t need weird settings to edit fast.

Try using maybe a different finger, for example use your middle finger for your scroll wheel and your index for right click. Scroll is honestly uncomfortable at first but after time it becomes second nature

How do you edit while pulling out the pickaxe?
I used to suck at it really bad and tried different methods but all I do is hit my real bind which is Q. Start off slow and your will get used to it

Edit a reset a pyramid over and over again. After a day or two you should almost completely forget your old muscle memory

Yes the super fast reset is scroll wheel and then the manual ones are the ones where you stay in edit mode
