First time I heard a pastor react to Gary's Take Me Out of the Dark. It is true he preached the gospel through this song.
Gary himself is proof of God's love and mercy. By all accounts the man should have died N times over due to his condition. Yet the lord guided him to a wonderful career, a loving loyal and beautiful wife, talented children, and a following through multiple generations. All without controversy, scandal, or any tarnish of darkness. Gary is proof that one can succeed by living a righteous life. He an inspiration to all Filipinos, and truly he should be and is, an inspiration to the world. Time and time again my relationship with God has been strained and have been filled with doubt. It's Gary's singing, and his life that keeps me coming back and seeking more wisdom. I can only pray to have the kind of strength God has given Gary.

This is one of the most loved song but one of the hardest to sing here in the Philippines... Coz you will need so sing it from heart and feel the message .. I remember a friend sang this while we are all drinking and we literally stop with goosebumps and teary eye... Coz the message is real..

It was his testimony and this song way back in 2000 that had me converted to Christianity. Reason why this song is and will always be my fave.

I remember during the first strike of the pandemic here in the philippines when i (everyone) was so afraid to go out, and even scared to breathe 'coz of the virus. That was the first time i really felt the message of this song. Although i listen to this song during the 80s, this version is so different especially listening to this at a time when we feel lost and down. So powerful.

I just remember when Mr. Gary, went to a challenging journey, and almost took his life because he was seriously sick and I think this is the reason why he wrote this song. His whole family is a follwer of Christ for so many years. And his life was a miracle testimony.

I've been listening to this since High School. It's so timeless. Everyone can relate as a Christian.
This really a powerful song it's like a therapy for those people who have anxiety and trauma like me, can't help myself but to shed a lot of tears while hearing this song.
