He's feeling the song because of all the struggles he's gone through his life such as surviving cancer, understanding his recent diagnosis of diabetes, depression and bipolar disorders and surviving a couple attempts of ending his life. Hits home to him ( and probably to many of us specially during these unprecedented times) when he would sing the part, "coz I just forget, you won't give me what I can't bare... take me out to the dark my Lord I don't wanna be there."

Having been raised in the Philippines, I grew up listening and loving Gary Valenciano’s songs. He is one very talented artist and a devout Christian. I love his inspirational songs. Take Me Out of the Dark and Lead Me Lord are 2 of my all time favorites.It brings me to tears each and every time. It’s hard not to cry with this song. With the darkness we are all facing, we need to draw ourselves ever closer to Him. He is the only One who can truly take us all out if the dark. Praise be to You Jesus, our Lord and our King!

He is also diabetic so performing every night not just singing but with lots of dancing was really hard but he always give it his best. You may check his youtube channel to see his performances but one thing that has set him apart from many other stage performers is his love for singing praises- Take Me Out Of the Dark, Shout For Joy, Warrior Is A Child and Lift Up Your Hands among many other amazing worship songs.

It really touched my heart and i am one of Garry V’s millions of followers... i was 8 then when i first sang that song... i am in my 40’s... Garry V has a lot to offer... our pride, Mr. Pure Enery and the Michael Jackson of the Philippines.. try also his song entitled LETTING GO and his Version of Lead Me Lord..
