Helping a homeless drug addict and a woman getting groped are two very different things. One cannot be immediately solved, but the other can be.
Even homeless are humans worth a soul too! They were once someone’s baby.
That surgeon is a COWARD & a NARCISSIST- he felt the need to be unprofessional & BAD MOUTH A PATIENT while he was under anesthesia & fighting for his life no less!!! Had anyone else jumped in to help him he may have not been knifed for badly
The funny thing is as a society we should try to strive to help both. Even if helping the addic is futile efforts..at least you can try.
The 2A exists to fend off attackers, it's the great equalizer when it comes to power disparity. As the saying goes an armed society is a polite society.

I ended up accidentally on a very bad street in vancouver CA with my son and infant daughter yesterday. I was scared at first, but then i noticed that every time I crossed a street, the first person on the next block would say "kids on the block" or "babies on the block" it would get echoed down the line. Everyone would put their drugs away or stop whatever unsightly thing they were doing and let us pass safely. Made me think a bit about the types of people out there.
hey! Vancouver!🍁
So glad that you guys were okay, Vancouver can be so scary
All but the lowest of the lowest of the low tend to have at least *some* standards, usually with children.
The most overused, but never wrong quote comes to mind:
"Just because you are bad guy, does not mean you are a bad guy".
Most criminals have an unspoken agreement: Children and their Mothers are off-limits.
Wow, that's amazing ❤
Not all people are monsters
As if drug addicts aren’t also people who need help
I think his point is exactly that, if you would only help someone you view as an equal to yourself (an ordinary woman on the subway being assaulted) but not someone who is in a bad situation long term and that society views as lesser, that's something to think about. But I do disagree with his overall take, it's good to stand up for people
@@LemonSte In my case it's not a matter of seeing someone as equal but practicality. Can I change a drug addict's life around in a single moment or fix the problem in his life? No I don't think I can but can I help a woman at this moment? Yes I can. It's a matter of effort and time as well. And well another thing helping the woman is simple but helping the drug addict is hard and complicated. I wouldn't even know how to actually help the drug addict.
Some people don’t want help, they’re happy where they are
But you can't help a drug addiction by standing up to them. Getting clean is a long process that needs to he somewhat voluntary. Helping someone who is getting sexually assaulted or any type of assaulted can be fixed instantly. There's a big difference. You can't help every random drug addict on the subway you see. You can stop chance events, not habits
Drug addicts have help thousands of programs to get them clean all paid for by the tax payer.
He’s my hero though. He helped when no one else would and even when he was in pain he tried to comfort those around him.
Except he eats through a tube and now can’t talk… You can justify it when it’s in your benefit but I wonder how you would feel being the one unable to ever taste your favorite foods or drinks and never able to talk again.
@@matthewcrowell7004and you are one that would stand by and watch someone being hurt and do nothing. You are part of the problem
@@brendafite You are right and I’m not denying that. It’s people like me that allow it and if I changed myself it would still be like that. The only real difference is I get to live if I’m selfish. If it’s not me or mine I’m not interested.

Doctor was not acting self righteous she was trying to justify the good deed the young man did as a result of placing his body before an assailant. If he got beaten that badly for stopping the groper, then this could have happened to the woman he protected if he had not been there.
Everyone is free to make their choice in an uncomfortable situation. It’s just a shame his choice cost him so much. I hope the woman visited him or at least appreciated what he had done.
Wow! Well said!
Would you rather die or a stranger? What if you have a family will you give your life to stave the stranger still? What if you wife’s sick and you have kids and you are the only earner? Priorities.
I agree with you, except the last part. Obviously I would also think she should be grateful in some way, but because it is not her fault that the man groped her she should not feel guilty. She did not do anything to deserve that, but of course its tragic generally that the patient has now to deal with the consequences. And he won't gain anything even if the man ends in prison, or worse. Its just this world, you decide to help for others and risk yourself, you should be praised for such an act but the woman has no responsibility for the act of the attacker.
@@matthewcrowell7004 and the man that jumped in obviously didn't have those priorities
Someone that does would've did different maybe called the cops maybe turn a bind eye
The point is not everyone sees life like that ( not in a depressing way but everyone is living differently) and maybe you aren't saying this but someone jumping in to help someone else is very commendable and getting all pent up because "what about other priorities" is kinda looking down on a good action it was a choice

Do you believe a random woman is supposed to sacrifice herself to save a random man?
Drug addicts require a different type of help than the average person walking by can provide.
The fact that scenes like this are widespread available and yet peoples awareness doesnt change the people who do things like that. It all starts at home how you treat each other and what is important. You teach respect and consent, you model that behaviour and if you are unlucky enough to not have access to it there's shows like this trying to give the public a moral compass
THIS SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS BASED OFF THE TRAIN ATTACK IN PORTLAND OR.

How is stopping someone from getting assaulted the same as helping every homeless drug addict on the subway?
He helped someone in need at the expense of his own safety..... He is a hero in this instance..... No one else lifted a hand.....
Did I just hear someone equating women to homeless drug addicts ?
Yup, I would not wanna be in a room alone with him.
I wouldn’t either… for his safety
I think both points are valid here. Yes, you should help others in need. And yes, it's fair to not want to put yourself in a dangerous situation too.
Don't put yourself in the dangerous situation
be the dangerous situation
Getting groped isn't the same as being addicted to drugs.
Anything who makes the comparison is lacking in humanity.
Not every druggy is ready to get help tho. A person needs to want it to receive it. She probably appreciated the assistance bud
Helping a drug addict who’s on the street has NOTHING to do with a girl getting groped on the train. This is just a stupid analogy and comparison. A druggy on the street could be there by choice. You never really know. But what you can know is if someone is being touched inappropriately. And if you see that and decide to yourself. Well I wouldn’t help a drug addict so I won’t help her, then you’re the problem.

Man is avoiding the question of whether he would let a woman be groped by describing a less savory situation to get involved in. I’d press him to answer the previous question. Bet he’d either say differently, or avoid it altogether.
Most people don’t do anything. A guy poured alcohol on me after trying to grab my phone And my pony tail for not paying attention to him.
No one interfered but once I got away people closed the gap to separate him from me.

The sad truth is that many wouldn’t step up, it’s taught to us by society not to, let the police or someone else of authority step in. It’s just a sad truth that many follow the norms.
And then they call you “ not a real man” because you value your life over a stranger 😂😂😂 bro lost everything and for what so he can be called a hero and forgotten the next week 😂😂😂
It’s not that you’re not a real man, it’s that you’re not a very brave one. There’s no shame in that. Some people protect, some people just stand by and watch. At least we know where you stand. 🤷🏾♀️
@@MayTheOddsBeInYourFavor I live in a big city for my whole life . I never saw a single person stand up for someone getting bullied even if it was me. Those who did got beaten up or threatened. It's not about bravery it's about being willing to have a fight with a clearly insane person you don't know what they are capable of and risk everything. What if that person is crazy and has a knife or a gun? Is it worth you talking for the bullied person and risk your life? Sometimes people just want to fight and they will find the most insane of things to make a problem about it. When I got bullied on public transportation I just ignored and so did everyone else. Some people tried to talk but reconsidered when they saw the person was a drunk 60 year old man. It's not about bravery who is more brave and who is not. People just go by their day without engaging in fights. Yes it's very bad not to help others but also very bad to be in that guys situation over a bullied person. When I tried to help others it only made it worse for me and for the other person. Let them handle it as they can if they cannot then step in but consider the consequences.

@@MayTheOddsBeInYourFavor I know how bad it sounds ignoring people when they need someone but it's just not worth the risk. When an old lady told her to " Gather your stuff you stupid girl people need to sit down next to you and your selfish ass takes the whole seat " She just hugged everything and didn't say a word in fear the driver would kick her out of the bus. People are afraid to speak because they fear the consequences. I know it's horrible but we can't change that.
I was attacked and mauled by a pit bull. The majority of people defended the dog.
I left my garden to die, I started those plants indoors, tilled the soil, wax ready to plant when. I was attacked. The dog then attacked me AGAIN last week.
Most people I talked to about it, defended the pit Bull and gave me a bunch of crap about how gentle these bread killers are. I delivered pizza, pit bulls are a menace that kill people and I felt safer being robbed at gunpoint than bear one.
But some people would rather be right about their unwavering defense of them than admit they are protecting the dog fights and deadly attacks.
What episode?
"He's a fool! Trying to prove how macho you are can get you killed!"
Hermione: "Or worse, expelled!"
That kind of thinking is why no one helps each other anymore.
Maybe he was trying to prove he was macho, maybe he wasn’t. But only one thing is certain; if you sit by and do nothing while others are being harmed; you’re part of the problem. Not saying rush in foolishly; but just ignoring makes you a coward. Again; don’t try to play Batman, but help however you can.
People wonder why guys stop helping people, primarily women, in public now? The risk of false accusations, injury, abuse & even death is too high, especially for someone who wouldn't do the same.

Which episode is this!?
I think this show has some of the best acting I’ve seen in a long time.
If the person looks dangerous or is bigger than you, then you can literally just point it out to the crowd and get them as backup. If you don't want a big scene, just go up to a group or guys and mention it so you can go together as a smaller group. As much as I want to help people, I don't want to ve hurt myself in the process. I will do what I have to and avoid myself getting hurt at the same time. If it gets to the point that I know I will be hurt, then I'll go out fighting, but if it is preventable, I don't know why anyone wouldn't take help.
No good deed goes unpunished sadly
Please please please keep using Time and Hope! I won't hear it enough until it's played a hundred thousand times more! 😖
I can see how that doctor might see the kid acting “macho.”
Let’s be honest: that kid probably doesn’t help people every day, probably stays out of situations, and the one time he does is for a girl he probably thought was cute.
The doctor made the assumption that the kid only helped the girl because he thought there was something he could gain from her as well.
I think that’s how the doctor’s looking at it.
Why you can tell at the end of the video he was blatantly wrong you can tell in the look of his eyes that he felt like a piece of crap
Considering it's been proven we hear and absorb what's said on some level under anasthesia, that doctor is even more of a pos for belittling his actions during his surgery.
Going to add: A huge majority of surgeons are that narcissistic and rather smug. They have a rare talent and get people nearly worshiping them for it tends to turn them in to little tin gods.
Meanwhile public surgeons are too poor to even afford a tin can to sleep in
Bro is legend
Honestly it depends on the state depending on what state this is and this guy was able to successfully stop the gropper but in the action of pushing the offender off the woman the creep hits his head and dies then the Good Samaritan is going to jail. These are things that we have to think about before getting involved. You should call the police always, judge whether or not you want to get involved, try and get others involved, but do not just film the incident and do nothing
I hate the girl he saved
Funny thing is those people that says we should help this and that arent really doing anything to help other than feeling good online
Not everyone brags or even mentions it
What film or tv show is this called?

Comparing a lady actively being harmed by another person to someone who is harmed by there own actions is so wrong
I personally wouldn't have done it especially all the more reason with the injuries he suffered, but fair play to him for doing what he thought was right but one shouldn't be shamed for stepping in or not stepping in.
And what if she said "well i was gonna become a social worker if I wasn't accepted into medical school, so yeah, helping the homeless junkies was part of the plan!"
Im standing by. Sorry not sorry. I don't expect you to save me, so don't expect me to try to save you. And in reality you don't get a thank you, you'll be lucky if she doesn't try to get you locked up for trying to help her. Shes on her own just like the rest of us.
