    Thanks for sharing Al. Great Video and it's nice to see that your antenna is working great. I remember we talked last Friday night about the new setup and the amount of Db gain that you had etc. It is a massive difference if your get better S points etc. The whole system works well Most impressive. Cheers 73 NY202 USA Drew

    And you had the pre amp on... And fitting the other ground plane may cut swr a bit more... Should easily have a 1.5 meg band width.. Wont be great thru all that concrete though lol... But your noise levels good to say you have all those neighbors..

    • @Al.26TC101

      Pre-amp always set to 1 which works for me . With pre-amp off it drops the stations I can hear quite a lot and get just over S1 of noise Ive been using antennas at different heights here now for a long time and its just about experimenting and getting the best results, Getting there slowly.

      Need to ask why it gave you fear? Got to say if pre-amp set to o then I lose most signals. Most people have told me pre-amp 1 would be what most radios are set to with out a pre-amp and it certainly works better for me set to 1.

      M7XCB, Has the Sirio Tornado been the better antenna for local range compared to the 827, 2016, A99? I've had a great experience with the Tornado so far. Compared to a Sirio GPE I had up prior, the Tornado it's about 1S unit stronger on TX and RX to locals which is HUGE difference. Take care & 73!

    • @M7XCB
      @M7XCB 2 года назад

      @@724Chicago it about the same for the local but on my older antenna I can't pick anything up about 10 miles as it was very noisy and S/6 plus all the time where as I can pick up more clear now long with tornado with lower S/3 noise big difference.

    • @724Chicago
      @724Chicago 2 года назад

      @@M7XCB Ok makes sense picking up less noise allowing you to hear stations in the distance. I'm very lucky where I'm at zero noise most the times. I find comparing a 102" whip with two radials, Sirio GPE, Sirio Tornado that the 102 was the less of the performers for local. The Tornado was the best by 1 S unit stronger on TX and RX vs the GPE at same height same location. I didn't expect that much difference but it was that much. As for noise floor on the GPE vs Tornado they were exact same. By having the Tornado up It didn't increase noise floor it increased recieve and transmit so a win win. It's about 60' to the feed and fed with good feed line as well. It hears very well for local and DX but mainly use it for local. If DX is out there I switch to my Sirio 4 ele horizontal. Thanks for responding and good DX to you! 73
