This is why I liked Kaban and the Friends so much, and it feels so alien in season 2. The aspects of sympathy, helping out those in need, coming up with a solution, it felt truly genuine and sincere in this series. Kaban's growth felt natural, and never made an asspull like suddenly being able to match the Friends in speed or strength. It's been said many times in other media, but I really loved Serval's simple message of "everyone is good at something", rather than having a Friend who is good at everything. A series very worth rewatching, for sure.
Kemono friends is special, its the first anime that i see portrays humanity not how a monster, instead how an just another animal with its own qualities, however its noticeable the love of the people for this series When they talk about this anime.
If you saw the full season 2 you would find out kaban actually appears, not rage quit in the first episode like i did 3 times before actually watching it.
Never have I seem someone call kemono friends success being treated as a meme, everyone I've seem likes it both despite and because of the animation, the first episode being fucking adorable and so on with the others, and the animation slowly becoming more charming as the anime goes on
Jesus dude I didn't expect that. Not only are my preconceived notions about Kemono Friends gone, I actually wanna watch it sooner than later. Great video as always, and happy holidays everyone.
For me, I agree with all your points, and more beyond that. There's a chilling fear behind Kemono Friends, that of being alone. Humans are pretty much alone when it comes to peers in other species. And this series defines what I believe the naturally good men have done since the first day, seek out friends. We often meet enemies of other species and even in our own, but the good humans persist in that heart-pulling feeling, that full-body-shiver-causing need to not be alone is why we domesticated cats and dogs, cheetahs and horses, birds and other great friends. Kemono Friends starts from minute 1 with a lone, scared human reaching out to make a friend.
Arigato. I never knew what those chills were called. I get them so often being a history nut. Reading and learning about the good in humantiy during the worst conflicts gives me these feelings so often
Sometimes we need that reminder, telling us that as bad as humans are (especially online) there is always come counterbalance to be found. I have a very fitting and incredible stupid example for that. Recently while playing the new Magic game online i talked with a friend when my opponent started 'talking' (you can't really talk in these games because they fear insults and stuff so they give you only a handful of nice phrases your choosen avatar says) and my mind instantly went to "this guy is fucking with me with his passive aggressive {Good Game} and {Nice}" while the friend i talked to at the time had to remind me that there is indeed an earnest version instead of the negative one my mind instantly assumed. Yep, that is stuff that happens.
just said that I was going to bed... but you had something against it apparently ;) Thanks for the kemono friends video. you are a friend who is good at talking ;)
I'm pretty late but damn that was deep. Not gonna lie, Kemono Friends got me through some hard times when it was airing. Who could say that some cute poor CG girls doing cute things would get a smile on my face despite all hardships
Remembering Kaban, regardless of just being a fictional character, made me so emotional. Almost shed a manly tears... She's just amazing in that anime.
I really tried to watch season 2, but I just cant. If anyone else likes likes it, its ok. Im happy for you, really. I just love season 1. Ill miss it but beauty is where you find it. Best of wishes to all. It was a great ride!
Why don't you have more subscribers?! All of your videos are awesome and I always learn something valuable! I always get my notebook when I watch your videos and write down life changing notes!
Oh hey, somehow I missed this one! What a great late birthday present this video is. Kemono Friends is one of my favourite anime in recent years and a people who haven't watched it tend to be unfairly dismissive of it. The "Lucky-san, I'm not just a visitor" scene made me cry. You make a good point about how Kaban uses her ingenuity to help others not out of necessity but often just out of willingness to help. One thing I noticed in the show was that since the Friends were, as the Owls put it, "animals that had been made into humans," Kaban was kind of teaching them how to "be human" in a way. But in general it's just a really interesting concept for a story and beautifully executed. Thanks so much for this video Kamimashita. Kemono Friends can never get enough love.
I read this book series that takes place in a shadowrun-esque setting, written by Racheal Aaron called Heartstrikers, about the journey of the world's only 'Nice' dragon. One of the minor characters is a mage that spent decades of his life cleaning up magical catastrophe sites. He's singularly driven to protect the continued existence of humanity, and is perfectly willing to sacrifice himself to make that happen if needed. He's an excellent mage, even better than the protagonist's partner, but he spent so much time looking at the consequences of humanity at its worst that he lost sight of what humanity can do at its best. It causes him to make a hasty assumption about mortal spirits, spirits born of humanities desires and fears, which lead him to want to shut off the world's magic again, for good. It was a tough decision with terrible but necessary consequences when it was originally made a thousand years ago, but doing it again would amount to just kicking the can down the road. The lesson he had to learn was the duality of humanity's nature. For as terrible as some can be, others still are at least equally good. He had to learn that protecting humanity meant protecting all of humanity, the good, the bad, the living, the dead and all of the spirits; There will be no silver bullet solution to creating peace.
When I saw "book series," my heart immediately lept for joy, thinking you were saying there was a Kemono Friends book series. Then I finished reading the sentence and was like, "Oh." Sent myself on a bit of a roller-coaster there 🙃
I looked at your aniilist and I saw that you are not watching "Irozuko Sekai" , an anime of this season, I think you should give it a try, It's real beautiful and is full of emotion
It bad enough this is a underrated anime but the company decided to ruin it by firing the director and decided to continue the series but completely different from the original
Sorry to reign on your parade, but I personally believe as a Christian that humans are naturally bad and sinful. So I'd probably be most like Locke. That being said, I also believe that humans are made in God's Image. Because of that people are able to perform amazing things especially when out of love and selflessness. I agree I think we should all be more like Kaban-Chan. Great video!
LOL DUDE CHECK IT OUT THEYRE A BUNCH OF BADLY ANIMATED CG LOLIS FUCKING AROUND THAT IS SO HILARIOUS DID YOU SEE THAT BROWN GIRL CHEW AIR AND THE TREE FELL DOWN OH MAN XD

RIP Kaban-chan. Killed by Kadokawa. Will we ever love her season 2 replacement?! I wonder.
She's back!
And hotter than ever!
How wrong you were.
If you saw the full season 2 you would find out kaban actually appears, not rage quit in the first episode like i did 3 times before actually watching it.

Great video. I loved Kemono Friends so, so much back in 2017. Even now I'm seriously heartbroken over what happened to it.

There is a video recreation of Undertale with the Kemono Friends characters. Look up Japaritale.
I watched Kemono Friends 2...
*F u c k . . .*
If all lives are equal, what should a human do. This may be the idea that this anime wants to express.
If you are disappointed by Kemono Friends Season 2, just go watch Kemurikusa. It's being directed by Tatsuki.
What would Kaban do?
cant really relate to rosseau's teory, I surely was not inherently evil but I definitely had to learn virtue
why calling kaban kaban when u can call her rucksack/backpack/bag?
