The Pokemon like creature on Sangyeop’s shoulder is suppose to represent LUCY’s fandom, WalWals.

you should react to haze, snooze, and boogie man as well! they're also really good at covers. they did a red velvet bad boy cover and two of the members covered merry go round of life :)

thank you for reacting to LUCY! In their early days, they introduced their genre as ambience pop, meaning they use real sounds and create story and a sense of space with their music. while they don't introduce themself as that anymore, i think it still true. wonsang as a producer really have an amazing storytelling ability that he weaved into each one of their song.
nowadays tho, the general consensus for lucy's genre in korean public is lucy. that's it. lucy is its own genre. lucy's genre is lucy. i saw one of a musician make a song with 'lucy' genre and when people hear their songs (they have this pre-listening event for one of their comeback where they have random people listen to the songs before the official release), even if they don't know the artist beforehand, people's first reacting is 'oh? this is like a lucy song'. so yeah! if you ask what genre is lucy, let's just say it's lucy!!

      Wait, this is so cute!
Absolutely love lucy just being it's own genre!

oh my gosh yay ! lucy :D i'm glad you enjoyed my reccomendation!
I'm writing this as I watch, so i might say some things that you already figured out later in the video but hopefully some of these little bits of information are helpful/fun to know
    - flowering being very spring is on purpose! their first 4 releases (flowering, jogging, snooze, hero) were in a series meant to represent the 4 seasons :)
    - the keyboardist listed on jogging, o.yeon is a member of the production group wonsang was a part of predebut (yenevara) - another name you'll see a lot is choi younghoon, the guitarist they work with :) younghoon and oyeon help to write + record the guitar + keyboard for all of lucy's music
    - a lot of their cute guitar straps are comissioned by fans and given to them as gifts !
    - sangyeop's yeopx2 guitar strap is actually a reference to his predebut solo album called yeopx2
    - the whole insert coin album (unbelievable) has a video game theme, i'm guessing some of the video game theming comes from 3/4 of the members being gamers
    - gwangil has done a few gaming streams on his youtube channel, wonsang posted a picture of part of his steam library once and he has a lot of very iconic games (i remember elden ring, cyberpunk, baldurs gate, witcher 3, skyrim, and rdr2 off the top of my head), and yechan plays a lot of nintendo stuff - he bought all of the members switches to make them play totk when it came out
    - things have changed quite a bit since then, but back at debut wonsang described their music as being "ambient pop" - as in they have a lot of ambience/ambient noise in their songs designed to make you feel like you're experiencing the idea that the song is about without the help of the lyrics. i also think there's a big jpop influence in their music, just because that's a lot of what wonsang listens to
member roles + ages + hints for identifying them beyond just what instrument they play
shin yechan: violin, leader, 32 (june 13, 1992) - short, generally just a small guy, very dainty face? idk how to describe it
choi sangyeop: vocalist, 30 (february 27, 1994) - cheeks!!, pretty lips, doesn't really have a cupids bow - his top lip is very round?
cho wonsang: bassist, producer, sub vocalist, 27 (august 15, 1996) - defined jaw/chin area, the line between his nose and lips (philtrum???) is very defined, tall
shin gwangil: drummer, vocalist, 27 (may 25, 1997) - round, has dimples, ALWAYS has black hair
they're also almost always going to be in the same order when performing (yechan -> sangyeop -> gwangil -> wonsang)
i would definitely check out their title tracks first, but i figured i'd recommend a few live performances that are worth checking out as well (all are copyright safe!) - ranked in order of how important i think they are
never in vain + fill it up + irrelevant answer live clip: genuinely just... such a good showcase of their abilities as performers (never in vain is fully in english btw, just letting you know to prevent another good enough from happening lmao) ruclips.net/video/YbPxwuYwHog/видео.htmlsi=MeX--hJGBHohJGCX
hot! live clip: classic lucy bass vs violin battle + a 23 second violin solo ruclips.net/video/DkIAUehN3Y8/видео.htmlsi=JsO0xevSetkKeGb_
missing call + you & me live clip for some fun goofy vibes (they aren't playing live in this one, but it's still great - you'll see) ruclips.net/video/qjbxfeaP6yg/видео.htmlsi=JW9h6N2HrLSGhbic
exact list of their mvs, just to make it as easy as possible :)
    - flowering ✓
    - jogging ✓
    - snooze
    - hero
    - i got u ✓
    - irrelevant answer
    - rolling rolling
    - the answer (collab with daybreak)

also - just for fun not really for a reaction, since you guys just checked out onewe here's lucy covering rain to be on a radio show ruclips.net/video/pfWlZUUTJVk/видео.htmlsi=SvH3hHdnPAn-JbIX
genuinely though, i'm so glad you checked them out! they're really super underrated, especially outside of korea. they actually just finished up their first north america tour, and i was able to see them twice, front row vip - genuinely the best concerts ive ever been to. all 4 of them were pretty sick at the time (sangyeop almost passed out at the austin soundcheck - that level of sickness) but once the concert got started you really couldn't tell at all, they're really fucking good performers. there's a reason why i bought my ticket for the second concert i went to between soundcheck and the actual concert starting lol
they're also just such genuinely sweet and caring people? when i talked to them during the fansigns they were so engaged in what i was saying and they seemed to really care about what i was saying to them - wonsang looked genuinely worried when i told him that i hadn't been able to get any sleep after their austin concert because i was still so hyped up
they genuinely tried so hard over the whole tour to communicate and connect with fans as much as they could despite staff trying to rush their interactions and none of the members being fluent in english. as they were leaving at their dallas show they saw a fan having a panic attack and they stayed with her until she was able to calm down and tried their best to comfort her even with the language barrier - like refusing to leave until they knew for sure she was doing ok and that she wouldn't be left alone even though their staff wanted them to get going :( at the end of the tour they also all pooled money together to buy new airpods for all of the american staff as a thank you. they're just so... you can really tell that they really care about their fans as people? it's just really nice to see
sorry about the essay, i'm just genuinely insane about them and think they deserve so much more recognition than they get

Hi! I'm going to dump a bunch of info on you now. As you mentioned towards the end, Lucy was formed on a TV show. It was called SuperBand. Gwangil originally auditioned as a vocalist and ended up teaching himself the drums because the group needed a drummer. That's why he sings a lot on songs. In the show, Sangyeop was eliminated in the first round, so Lucy originally had a different lead singer, but he left to go back to his original band once the show was over and they recruited Sangyeop. The idea for the show came about because a few producers (one of them from Mystic Story) thought it was a shame that Korea was losing interest in rock music and wanted to revitalize that interest, so they came up with the idea of having talented musicians audition and create these "super groups" throughout the show. Lucy didn't actually form until much later into the show, and Wonsang wasn't picked until the final round before the finals, because they needed a producer.
That being said, you can imagine that they are all incredibly talented. Wonsang writes and produces most of their music. He also plays a 6-string bass. Gwangil can play just about any instrument and speaks Spanish. Yechan is the eldest and the leader of the group. He was originally in another band, but is continuing with Lucy now. I'm not sure what the status of his former band is at this point.
Here are some songs that you missed in order of release:
Snooze and Flare are both songs performed on SuperBand, so they are technically not comebacks, but are excellent and helped to define what some of the judges on the show called the "Lucy sound".
Stove is the first song created with Sangyeop in the group.
If we're going to be technical, Flare is on the same album as Jogging, so would come after Jogging and Snooze was officially released on its own album after the Jogging/Straight Line/Flare album called Panorama. The Snooze albums is called Snooze.
After Snooze, the released Inside. The comeback was Hero - this is the album they released Stove on.
Gatcha! was next with I Got U for the comeback.
Irrelevant Answer was next. The comeback has the same name.
Blue is an important album, with each of the members contributing a self-written song. The comeback was Rolling Rolling.
I kind of feel like Run Away and Blue Voyage weren't really comebacks, but more like holiday type songs.
After Play and Unbelievable, is the Fever album with the comeback Haze (which is my personal favorite comeback. The MV is a masterpiece).
    And then Boogie Man.
and I'm not really sure what The Knight Who Can't Die and the Silk Cradle is, but I like it. The MV is animated.
A couple more things: A lot of Lucy's music revolves around being there for you when you're having a hard time. It's evolved a bit over time. It used to be that they wanted to bring you back to childhood, to happier times, but I kind of feel like the Insert Coin album had some more mature elements to it.
Unbelievable was a song to WalWal (the fandom) and I'm pretty sure the puppet on Sangyeop's shoulder was representative of WalWal being by their side.
Sorry for the book! I hope this helped in some small way.

ahh! lucy! i got to see them live a couple weeks ago in San Jose and it was genuinely the best concert of my life :) love them so much.
here's a few facts and recommendations:
    - they were named after a dog from their superband times, which is super cute
    - flowering actually has an KSL version! definitely worth checking out
    - wonsang (the basist) is such a genius producer, and all of them are just very skilled in their areas
    - they like to include a lot of atmospheric(?) sounds to their music, especially in their early stuff (maybe not as much in recent comebacks)
    - I agree with everyone recommending snooze, boogie man, etc. I feel like I can't add too much there
    - they've appeared on a show with xdinary heroes, and it was so fun (ruclips.net/video/4yzhS6AFFIU/видео.htmlsi=Ktz-vBwQrI7Qx2nq) even if you can't react to it (although reactions are loved), its worth checking out!
that's all I can think of to add right now but thank you for reacting to them! they're the sweetest people and I'm desperate for more reactions to them!!
