@@1__11Savage is a mix of hyperpop and another genre I think, Black Mamba defo isnt hyperpop tho, you probably thought so because of the mv's visuals:)
@@yubinwavei thought so cause ive seen people talking about them both as a hyperpop, so ive been wanting to hear knowing people's opinion about it. thanks to you know i know) btw maybe u know black mamba genre, cause ive been aching to find smth similar
Idk if this is a niche or rare genre, but I personally wanna see more psytrance in KPOP. But I do agree with city pop, dream pop, and rawstyle, I wanna see more groups tackle those genres as well.
I think one of the reasons why we don't see a lot of unconventional/experimental genres is because of how modern kpop is intertwined with streaming culture. A song being more palatable to a general audience = more streams.
this!!! i’m also in desperate need of more jazz sounds in kpop… Especially Bossa Nova. i’m still feeding off of IU’s modern times album and twice’s alcohol free
i know that I'm 4 months late to this, but I have some recommendations. For songs within kpop/k-music in general, I recommend *spring is you* by Han All, *Sweet Lies* by Baek A Yeon & The Barbarettes, *Ouch* by day6, *Midsummer's night christmas* by Oh my Girl, *Zz (Tired) (with yebit)* by YouSungYoon (I apologize if the name is incorrect) *You and I* by Alice/Elris *My little Lover* by Lovelyz, *Shower duty* by Meaningful stone (this one seems to have more of a picopop influence, but it still counts) *Opening the Window* by clc, *7th* by clc, *For you* by skz, and possibly *Day 1* by Red velvet. (Small additons are below)
We need more City Pop in Kpop! This is why I always fall back on Lucy, since they're so excellent at playing with this genre. Dream pop too, but more the traditional sound, not so sped up. And as many techno and synth genres as possible. Even the dark ones. Even darkwave and dance industrial. I'm here for it.
lee chaeyeon's comeback mini was so good omg. i think the producers even said that Don't Be A Jerk was the first kpop song of the genre that it was (i can't remember what genre it was). cool to know she's the only drift phonk song too :D also random thought. i know it's not drift phonk but i like to think of I Don't Wanna Know and Itzy's Kill Shot as sister songs. they have the same vibe idk how to explain
i betcha ateez could make an AWESOME hardstyle/rawstyle track. with some of their recent bsides i just know they could do it deep in my heart deep in my soul
I would love to see more groups to either explore or just build their discography on more hard/alt/dark genres, like Ateez is doing with "The World" series where they slightly touch even underground genres like industrial (not directly but the sounds is inspired by industrial genres in some songs and the concept is very much inspired by cyberpunk genre/subculture ). I'm not really into pop, rnb and like "softer" and "happy" genres but I understand kpop groups have to make what's popular among the majority of listeners. Or like cinematic/epic rock with heavy orchestra, that would be awesome.
I kinda want Chamber Pop/Folk, Baroque Pop, Shibuya-Kei (Picopop, Bossa Nova), Mallsoft, Dream Punk/Ambient, Trip Hop, Shoegaze, or Alternative Dance💀 Me want drum & bass jungle trance yippee🥶 I just want Seulgi Trip Hop💀 Well ig Day 1 ~ Red Velvet would have a Shibuya-Kei subgenre. Humming Urban Stereo exists for K-Indie, ig. We will employ the Christian Horse Girl/Boy groups. Lee Jung Hyun, my skrunkly Also, Madmans Esprit kinda do Visual Kei actively for a Korean act, but I doubt visual kei would do the best w/ kpop fans + SK rn- Madmans Esprit also moved to Europe anyhow-
I dont wanna know by lee chaeyeon is truly my favorite song of this year! I heard it and knew i needed more, and then i couldnt find anything, its so unique in kpop. Its a soung i usually here in other spaces and then suddently it appeared in one kpop song
Really interesting video^^ I definitely would like some more rare EDM genres in k-pop. Rawstyle as you already mentioned, but also melodic dubstep, electro swing, eurodance and trance, (German) techno, grime (B.I. or some other worthy artist needs to sample Skepta’s “too many man” and make the banger of the century!) and progressive house (I know there’s actually a fairly good amount of progressive house in k-pop, but there can never be enough of my favorite genre, especially songs where the vocals don’t overshadow the drop like HA:TFELT’s “wherever together” or Yezi’s “home” ^^). Also some more proper dancehall and reggaeton style songs (like U-Kwon‘s “fuego” or Le Sserafim’s “anti fragile”)
One thing I’d love to see is more 90s house (take Love on the Floor by NCT 127 for example). I feel like so many people confuse it for vogue (though the dance style was born from house), but I feel like it’s a very interesting sound that I think a lot of girl groups could take on
Hey, just a little thought - I think it could be nice for the viewer if you kept the explanations a little longer. It's really not a lot, but almost everytime I'm just a bit slow too slow with reading, since I also want to see what song/artist is playing and hear something of it. So I either have to stop the video every few seconds or replay it (sometimes even several times when I get distracted by the song again) ... I don't mean to harm you by saying that - in fact I really like your videos and hope you keep up what your doing because it's a great possibility to get some knowledge!
Two of the complextro examples are produced by 1TAKE and TAK, and I think that's part of why their work in general sounds Vocaloid-like. However I'm not so keen on genres in Vocaloid songs, so if you know any songs like that pls tell me
@@slushiedolls That doesn't count, TAK was one of the producers. I'm asking for those that actually use Vocaloids. For example, while idk if it's actually complextro, Awake Now by Yunosuke reminds me a lot of Superhuman.
Hi wisp! I really love all of your videos and I appreciate you taking time and spending energy to make them!! I'm curious, and you seem like the person to ask, but what genre is Opening Sequence by TXT? My girlfriend loves that song and I would like to explore the genre to find her more songs that are similar to it! Thank you so much
i was thinking of making a video about hyperpop in kpop (or rather what ISN'T hyperpop 😭) so feel free let me know if its something you'd want to see
Aespa's black mamba and savage? Are they or not idk yet so will be waiting for your video lol

Speaking about hip-hop in k-pop songs, I would recommend P1Harmony discography. They often add hip-hop motives (That's it, New Classic and so on)

krock !!
