The fucking chokehold the bed squeak has on the Kpop industry Also I really love the classical samples section! If you do another one of these videos, one for you to add - Jungle Game by SF9 uses the melody from In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg.
Unpopular opinion: most of the kpop songs that use classical pieces feel like trashy, over the top, remixes, where they recycle these beautiful pieces in unoriginal ways. I think classical music and kpop simply don't go well together.
@@annadamico1685 I'm a musician, I love classical music, I've done a fair bit of singing it. I think sampling in pop music is just fun, it doesn't cheapen the original piece because the original piece still exists. Also, sometimes you get beautiful re-imaginings, like Red Velvet's Feel My Rhythm!
@@wobinwobinwobin I think my main issue is the lack of originality, not only in kpop, but in pop music in general, which causes producers to mindlessly recycle older music. I guess that's just how commercial music works, it's not meant to be innovative or experimental, it's a mere product, consumable by the masses. Now, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, and as you said sometimes there are nice and creative re-imaginings, so I see why people enjoy it.

Recognized Frère Jacques in the -StayC- nmixx song immediately. Idk I love when I recognize the sample/interpolation; it makes the song feel like I already knew it.
I just realized that 12:00 from LOONA uses a remix from the Tarantino Bass by Black Octopus sample. Which means Why Not? is also using it but remixed ONCE AGAIN.
It takes a lot of chutzpah to use an entire vocal sample (Need Love 6:54), add some similar lyrics, and call it a new song! (Done by WSJN.) I hope they had to pay a big licensing fee and royalties for taking the lazy way out.
The whistle-sounding sample at 16:40 from sounds of kshmr vol. 2 sounds like it is also in Taki Taki by Selena Gomez, Cardi B, DJ snake and Ozuna! which is like a massive mainstream western/latin hit with over a billion streams on spotify (in case people don't think this happens all over the music industry hehe)! So glad I finally figured out what song I was thinking of when this one came up in the video, it was bothering me for weeks lol. can anyone confirm if this is the same sample????
I don't know this specific song's name but I noticed it recently in Stray Kids' Case 143 (but it's also commonly sampled in most "Bossa Nova" kpop songs) if you do a part 3 I'd love to know what other songs sample it!

the sample at 6:10 there's two other songs that start off with it, one is Childhood by Verivery and the other is Genius by Pentagon. Everytime I hear it I immediately picture the video in my head
