Hand Milled Cedar Outdoor Shade Structure

I mill out Redwood and Cedar to build this home-built Pergola or Gazebo. We start with the logs, mill them and use Simpson Strong Ties to fasten the posts down to the concrete. Eight by 8 posts are cut, beams placed on top and frame out the roof. we use 2x decking for the roofing and will put metal roofing over the top. I kept a lot of the natural edge on the wood for a rustic look.
