I’ve never done any hiking in my life, but I am currently bingeing on all of these videos and imagining all the possibilities. They are really informative and well made and showing off all of the beauty of Aotearoa New Zealand. With warm regards from Scotland 🏴
Did this in January a few years back. Ended up arriving after dark. Definitely not recommended but the full moon light reflecting off the glacier lake and the pink hue of Aoraki as the sun set was beautiful beyond comparison. One of the top 5 moments of my life rounding the corner at the top. I will remember that moment as one of the best for the rest of my life.
This is great information! We have done this hike twice. The first time, we had to turn back because of the weather. The second time, we made it all the way to the hut. It is unbelievably beautiful up there!! We loved it SO much!! After you book the hut, you have to check in at the visitor's center the day of your stay to obtain the ticket for the hut.
I did this one in January 2022, perfect sunny weather with no cloud and hardly a breath of wind. There was quite a bit of snow still present at the top. It's hard but spectacular, easily the best tramp I've done in Aotearoa! Would do it again in a heartbeat.
Awesome video! I did the track in March 2019, there was already bit of snow covering the track.. For one day trip, it is actually quite challenging for average hiker. Some of the sections are not the easiest ones, but the views are amazing.
The track up to the Sealy Tarns is pretty easy, really. Will have to go up to the hut sometime, but got Tappy and Te Ao Whekere to do next. Should be fun.
Did this walk late December 2018 and from 4:30 all the way to the hut was all snowed up. Pretty doable on tramping boots but bring sunglasses as the glare can be unbearable.
@@yoginijewelz6866 Great question to consider when heading outdoors! There are a few great ways to find out. You can find the backcountry avalanche advisory for Aoraki Mt Cook here > avalanche.net.nz. Or leading up to your walk, contact the local DOC Visitor Centre at Mt Cook for more help on the recent weather conditions.
Hi Juno! The Mueller Hut Route is a one-way, (return on the same track) - you can find out more on DOC's website: www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/canterbury/places/aoraki-mount-cook-national-park/things-to-do/tracks/mueller-hut-route/

What a fantastic and informative video, thank you.
This channel is amazing. It deserves much more than 11k subs
Great video. One of the best informative videos I've seen with information and routes. Very nicely done.

Very nice video... very informative ❤
So excited to go on my first Great Walk!!!
Stayed in the hut last summer. The view was breath taking! Climbing down the rocky route with jelly legs was no joke though

Awesome video! Been up there about 9 times now, would love to see a video in french ridge hut!
Nine times! Green with envy.... :)
French ridge hut is amazing, one of my favorite walks in nz. Especially when you walk all the way up to the glacier, absolute stunning terrain.
Great video. I miss this place
Done this wee walk in new zealand 7 times on my own and as a guide.
nicely done video. thank you
Beautiful video, great tips! LOVE this channel!
Thank you for making informative video :)

Let's use ecosia 👍🌱🌳
A few years ago I returned on the half way to Müller hut, because of the steep stair. I`s no good in condition.
I was thinking to do the walk around October 30th. Any recommendations on the possible conditions I may find?
David Senoner it’s hard to say this far out. Definitely keep an eye on the avalanche advisory for sure.
I’m going 31 Oct . Is it still snowy?

Hi! I might've missed the info about how is it going back? Do you take the same route as going up or there is a different one? Thank you! :)

Is it possible to camp in a tent, near muellers hut??
Yes, definitely! There are many tent sites around the hut
