Hey idk if you will see this but I have a new video of Bruce lee sparring a stuntman on set and I have a video of Bruce lee practicing kicks on bolo Is there a way I can send it to you?
Lol SK is so Essex! Great interview I really enjoy his books. Steve was one of the guys rumoured to have the saw footage from TBB back in the day, would be interesting to hear what he says about it. I think he's right in saying Bruce's war cries were another example of Bruce having a sound that was instantly identifiable as Bruce Lee. Much like how the nunchaku became synonymous with his image. The Lam Ching Ying recording sound interesting! I hope you have more Bruce Lee experts as guests in the future. John Little was brilliant particularly the episode regarding Bruce's real fights. Keep 'em coming!
Sifu I just watched this episode and learned a little bit more about Bruce Lee which is always great. I'm responding to your request to name people that might be interesting to talk to who might know more about Bruce. That is if they are ready and willing to talk about this, that of course I don't know. The person I am thinking about is Adam Chan who has his wing chun channel here on RUclips. The reason I am thinking about him is because he was trained by Ed Hart (one of the boxers)and Jesse Glover(the judo champion)who were amongst Bruce's earliest students. I heard Adam say this himself on his channel. Hoping to have been of service here. Thanks for all of your diligent searching and interviews concerning everything about Bruce
The English dubbed version of The Big Boss is the one that doesn't feature Bruce's signature war cries. Every movie afterwards features his battle cries.
Hey Sifu! Years ago I read an interview which was done before Bruce died where he explained how he developed his war cry and he said that he was working out in backyard when he heard a owl and a cat fighting! The cat was trying to attack the owl and the owl was defending himself and would let out this whooping sound and the cat was meowing loudly, and Bruce liked the way they sounded that he made those sounds his war cries!
Great discussion show sharing some Bruce's stories..just some passionate guys talkin about the man. The best way to commemorate 82birthday of the little dragon. 👍🏼
Hi Guys, I have been listening to many of the earlier podcasts and am really enjoying them. Genius, you've definitely spent a ton of time in Hong Kong and you definitely love Wing Chun. Did you ever train with Yip Chun or Yip Ching while in Hong Kong? Any interesting experiences to share? I was fortunate enough to be a bit of a tour guide to them when they visited South Africa in the late 90's but sadly did not train with them. Apologies if you've discussed this already, if you have, I'm sure I'll get to that episode soon. Thanks Guys, Love your work! Lance
The story about Roman Polanski was definitely hilarious, also I’ve read how Bruce described his trip to his wife in letters of the dragon, but it’s a pity that both of them never had a photo together. Great interview with Kerridge btw kung fu genius ! 🫡
Recently I bought the digital copy of The Way of the Dragon. However, I was disappointed that it was the English dubbed version. Thankfully, last week I bought Bruce Lee’s Hits The Criterion Collection and it includes the version with English subtitles 🔥
In terms of the various DVD versions of Bruce Lee's 5 movies, the issue of the famous war cries goes something like this...Lee's war cries from FISTS OF FURY were inserted into the audio tracks of the Asian DVD versions of THE BIG BOSS and GAME OF DEATH. The war cries in the American DVD versions of THE BIG BOSS, WAY OF THE DRAGON, and GAME OF DEATH were done by 3 different people. The only uniformity in the war cries done by the man himself were in the DVD versions of FISTS OF FURY and ENTER THE DRAGON.
Mannnn... again love these little stories. The story of him in Europe with Polanski and the Greek loved it. I love hear new Stories of his green hornet period ..like did he knew that Van got more money on the job ...and the short silent screen test of him in fill gear on saying i am Kato...how long is this clip cuz i just got a few seconds ? But hey we all have our Rabbit Hole mystery stories.
Great as always! Thx very much for doing this interview. BTW if you want to mention a bit Beerdy again next Monday, the guy uploaded a clip and stated as usual he found a lost Joe Lewis interview in his personal archive. :D I fell of my chair when i listened to it. And it is beyond me how he still has 10.000 to 100.000 of clicks, while you have mostle 1000 to 3000 or so. RUclips should create a software to check the quality of the clips and how much truth is in it. Then you would have 100.000 and more clicks on each vid and Beery maybe 10 to 50 clicks. EDIT: I just checked out his channel again. Alex go over there you gonna laugh your head off! Yesterday he uploaded a clip of this fake Nuchaku Ping Pong thing, and claims its real, it shows a world record with Nunchakus, and it was originally black and white, and he remastered it to introduce it to "new generation of Bruce Lee fans". XD Honeslty i think more and more the guy is mentally ill! And i mean that 100% serious. This cant be for real.
I think Fung Ngai was half Japanese. His last movie (he has a brief judo scene) was NEW YORK CHINATOWN with Alan Tang and features Don Wilson in his first movie role.
Ive been to Pak Chong 3 times and to the Sirisophan temple 3 times which is at the side of the toyota garage like steve said its surreal being there after seeing on the big screen the monks use it now on the right of it is a small garage i went one evening and saw a car inside from the 70s and it had a price on in thai so i asked the owner how much in thai was.He said what you doing here i said visiting the temple were Bruce Lee made the film he said wait there i will get my dad he was with Bruce Lee his dad was in his 80s he was telling stories of Bruce Lee he said he stayed in the hotel opposite called Rimtarn and the river was behind it were some scenes were shot .He told me were the ice factory was id already been there he said some scenes were near the train station etc .Master Woody who taught Muay Thai in England told me it was his Uncles house and Bruce showed up one day to ask could they used for filming he said is Uncle phoned him to ask him did he want to come down that this guy is going to famous world wide but he never went he was in Bangkok at the time.
Great interview. The quality and quantity of Steve’s work amazes me (and puts a hole in my bank balance). Really looking forward to fanzine 2 and the Way of the Dragon book 👍🏻🤛🏻
Bruce Lee Biopic has just been announced on Variety. Directed by Ang Lee. His son will play the title rôle!!!!That means a Lee will play Bruce Lee! Even if not related. And that means Shanon has accepted!
I’m sure she will figure out a way to plug Bruce Tea™️, Be Water Flip Flops, and season whatever of Warrior in the new biopic. If Bruce’s siblings (Shannon’s aunt and uncle) say anything bad about the film, I’m sure she’ll have her team of lawyers ready to sue them as she always does.
ruclips.net/video/CbEBr_B3wSU/видео.html Minnie Riperton-Butterfinger commercial 1972. This is right around the same time or a little before Bruce Lee began working of Game of Death, The birth of the iconic Tracksuit.
Now that was a bloody awesome interview Mr KFG. No hot nonsense (that's because you interviewed a Brit)! No doubt normal service will be resumed next week!!
When it comes to his war cries I have always thought they were done by Bruce himself in the studio. If it was done by someone else, why wouldn’t they use the same person for the 78 release of Game of Death? Or for any of the Bruce Lee imitators?
@@TheKungFuGeniusblows my mind that after all this time we don’t have a clear answer for this. Even from the Lee’s… surely someone has asked them or one of his close friends.
