Not much to love about England atm I'm here it's in a terrible state.
Thank you, Max. Nice one.
Well, Max, I can report that UK pronunciation is spot on.
Glad to hear it! :D
Why? Cos it’s sounds fFrench. Presumably you say Koln rather than Cologne?
Hello madam, how r u?
Pleased to see a video from you after ages. Hope everything is going well. Stay blessed. Please make as many videos as possible. I really find your video effective and beneficial.

Hello. Thanks for this work 💓😌
Thanks, Diana!
Thank you so much 💓!
I was extremely surprised to hear the pronunciations of this word .None of them is mine...Moreover, I have never seen the last sign of the description ( I usually use some paper dictionaries-Oxford and Cambridge) and Internet dictionaries, of course ( where I can directly hear the voice).Isn't it a combination of "o", "n" and "g"? So, thank you very much again! (these dictionaries are old ones...before 10 and more years...)..
😀
Lol that's very easy
then do you have bakeries in your country?
@Shadow ,of course we have bakeries.
And I think my pronunciation is good- I am just very punctual and precise about this..
I only wanted to say that I didn't know these new signs of the transcription.
What's your country

Thanks, got it, quaso.
Long time no see...!!
Where have you been, dear Max ?
Glad to see you with yet another informative lesson.
Hello! I've been a little busy with some other things, but I now have a few RUclips videos planned :).
@@EnglishwithMax Thank You dear Max.
I've got a doubt. Could you please clear it ?
Here in India a meet-up is held between the man and the woman who indent to get married to see and know each other in arranged marriages. What is the one-word for this meet-up, dear Max ?
@@abduraoofp7084 Hello,
Generally speaking we call romantic meet-ups where people are trying to get to know each other "dates", but I'm not sure if that's the right word for this context. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful!
@@EnglishwithMax okay, thank you very much for Ur explanation.
Can we say it 'a pre- engagement meet-up ' or 'pre- marriage meet ' ?
It's usually the man goes to the woman's house on a pre-set day with his mother or father or sister or friend or the marriage broker. On that occasion the man gets to see the woman and her family and her home. Then they talk about their ( the man and woman's ) profession, educational qualification ..etc. it's not like dating.
@@abduraoofp7084 Yes, "pre-engagement meet-up" sounds fine to me. 👍
In Brazilian Portuguese “Cro-a-sã” 😄
I tripped my coworker over this week by saying I went to Buc-Ee's and got a sausage egg and cheese "Crew-Sawnt". Just how I have said it as a Texan for decades now haha.
00:11 Curious...
1) aren't you supposed to pronounce the "r" like (krwa.so)?
2) is the stress on the 1st or 2nd syllable?
1) On the screen it is written down, but as she pronounced it, I couldn't hear the R.
The French R isn't rolled, that's why it sounds that way since it is a word of French origin.
@@adenikeb6295 there does not seem to be an agreement among you about the R.. you know poilievre? he says otherwise: on a strict French ancestry view, the R is pronounced. The only reason many don't is because many find it difficult to do so, so most of the time, it pronounced like "poly-yev"
merci ,a présent grâce a toi ,je peu dire croissont
QUASO
I LOVE YOU 😀
In SAUDI ARABIA we say ,
KO-RA-SON 😅
What about Camp LeJeune, and Chevrolet
Two words with obvious French origin.
In Canadian English, we usually say quaSSAN.
So is it wrong to say it any other way aside from French way since it's a French word?
No, it's not wrong at all. The French have also adopted some English words (e.g. hamburger, week-end), but they say them in a French way.
In Turkish it is croovasan:))
Or as crussont with a soft o so you don’t break your jaw trying to pronounce croissant
I believe the emphasis is wrong on the US pronunciation, in the diagram. I’ve always heard it cruh-SAUNT
I'm confused, I'm American and the first one she said was the one I've always heard 😅. Maybe I'm just too southern, though, since I know the specific pronunciations of certain words can vary depending on where you are in the country
😘😘😘
In India we just say Bun for all baked breads lol
I think I will just have something else😂
😂
Kwasong!
I said, please give me one of that
Good afternoon teacher. Could you please help me. My English is expired or My English has expired. Which one is correct? I'm a English learning. I speak a little English
Hello! I actually wouldn't say either. I would say:
- My English has gotten rusty.
Or:
- I've lost some of my English.
@@EnglishwithMax ok teacher thank for taking the time for explain. But I asked you which one my sentence correct
@@MithunSwain278 "My English has expired" is grammatically correct, but we wouldn't say that because we don't use "expire" that way.
@@EnglishwithMax I appreciate your help very much🙏🙏🙏
I'm a year late and this might sound a little weird, but as a native English speaker, feel free to ask me any questions you ever have and I'll try to get back to you! I love other languages and, while my studies have taken up so much of my time and make it extremely difficult to dedicate time to learning other languages myself despite the one beginner Korean course I'm currently taking, I can at least help others on their journey!
Where you have been
I've been a little busy with some other things, but I have some RUclips videos planned :).
Basically you pronounced the same in all apart the R added to American and Australian
In India its pronounced as "Vada Pav"
🤣🤣🤣
Great 😃
😂😂😂😂
🤣
I said Keroizang
Quaso
molto o zemra
The American pronunciation hurts my soul 🤣🤣.
Checking earrings -
In Nigeria
If you have seen it and they don’t pronounce it for you , you will probably say CROY-SANT
Aus pronounciation is the easiest way to do it for me bcos it sounds the most similar to the writing 😆
my wooden ears can't tell any differences among difference accents.
It's actually "khwason"
"Quacksaug"
Some one send this to Tom Holland
🇮🇳 India
South African pronunciation same as the Australian pronunciation
𝘾𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙤
I'm sorry, I love that the translation of this is just *A* 😭😂
really confusing! i feel like every sound is the same ...
I agree with the Australian pronunciation it’s a lot more clean simple compared to the others
What do you mean you agree with it 😅
How about you just agree with the French version, seeing as its a French word and thats how its MEANT to be said?!
@@ultimatemagic2125 This was my reaction too! 👍🤣
@@ultimatemagic2125 I mean, I technically "agree" with all of them. They're all correct for their respective dialects. The most authentic way is the French pronunciation, but that doesn't mean that saying it the American or British way isn't correct for that region. Plus, most languages steal words from other languages and pronounce them in the style of their language. The French stole the English word for weekend, but they pronounce it with a French dialect. There are many examples in many different languages. I'm currently learning Korean, and you'd be surprised how many words are literally just the English words with a Korean pronunciation 😂. Hamburger is an example of this in both French and Korean
It just sounds like the American pronunciation with stick up its butt.
How You are pretty!
Colonial Williamsburg phone number for tickets
nooo its grooooo siunttt
Nobody pronounces it like croisant ? 😱
I prefer the australian/american way..
Fair enough :)
it can be pronounced several ways in english, all of which is wrong except one. cresant is correct
Both French n English urgently need drastic reform, drop unnecessary letters in a word. That will simplify n make them more sensible n easy to speak or write.
The problem with French is they can pronounce silent letters at the end of words if the next word starts with a vowel sound. If you remove the final letter to reflect the common pronunciation it would mess that all up, which gives it that nice flow. Also double vowels together make their own sounds. Yes the rules of pronunciation tend to be quite overwhelming but once you know them it's not that hard to figure out how to pronounce a new word. There are exceptions here and there unfortunately.
for some reason the french pronunciation or the kwa son pronunciation gets under my skin.. I don't know why but it's an annoying and ugly word to me i hate it.. I can't stand it.. it's like nails on a chalkboard.. I don't know if it's because I heard someone say it and it came off as pretentious and I associate the word subconsciously with being a stuck up pretentious ahole or if it's just an ugly word to my ears.. but it definitely triggers me and pushes my buttons.. it honestly repulses me and makes me want to throw up on the person who said it.. sorry if you're french I'm not trying to be rude..
it's amazing how the british invented the language but pronounce everything wrong. nobody can even understand them
Invented the language? Thats not correct nor how language works. Yes, it came from Britain, but the people of Britain were a mix of different German ethnic groups and the languages gradually homogenized. The printing press helped this process.
Terrible name
do you have a croissant in your city 🥐
Thanks ma'am , this the 1st word i will tell to my online french girlfriend when we meet in person 🥐
