In the beginning JiU had me immediately. With time I heard enough of Yoohyeon singing she stole the bias spot for a while. Maison era, I remember the exact moment, Siyeon outshone everyone and I only had eyes for her for 2 years. But JiU is JiU and this year she reminded me why she was the first. It's all of them, just say it's all of them. So my vocal bias is Yoohyeon with Handong ALWAYS a hair from taking over, my idol bias for overall entertainment (talent, comedy, charisma) is Siyeon, and if JiU needed to get married to have a green card I'm there no questions asked. My bias is Sua! She's actually my ult bias in kpop. I fell in love with her humor and chaotic nature (plus her amazing laugh). Then fell even deeper for her when I saw how caring and affectionate she is with her members (and her friends outside the group). Watching her on variety is always amazing. She often takes over the show completely. Its like the girl was made in a lab to be the perfect variety guest lmao. She's also just great at everything. Definitely the ace of DC. Also a choreographer! I'm sure you will eventually get to some of the stuff she choreographed ^^

But then early this year as they were on tour, Siyeon climbed to the top lmao all I needed was sleeveless Siyeon with short red hair to completely fall. So I guess I have two bias now. It’s fine to be confused with Yooh and Dong bcs even their mothers mistook them before lol. A lot of baby somnias also had a hard time with those two. My bias is Jiu (kinda obvious haha). I also wonder why bcs when I first got into them, I was attracted to Gahyeon, but as I continued watching them, I gravitated towards Jiu. Maybe it’s bcs she’s really soft? Like her aura? I cant explain it well. I really lover her voice too, it contrasts their music and she sounds like a warm hug.

Jiu is my bias. When she smiles it's like the sun coming out from behind a cloud on a cool Spring day, and suddenly you feel warm. The other six are bias wreckers. There is a 'This is' series for each year starting in 2020 so you can see the changes in them since then. I had trouble at first with Yoohyeon and Handong, but also Siyeon and Sua. That was in 2017 though and Siyeon's face has changed a lot as she's matured so they no longer look alike. Si in Korean is pronounced like 'she' Jiu is a foodie and has a restaurant show called 'What Jiu!'. She loves beer and wine. Sua is very fond of whiskey and becomes even more chaotic after a few drinks and has a huge capacity. Dami doesn't drink at all. Yoohyeon gets tipsy very quickly so doesn't drink very often. Siyeon hates the smell of alcohol and after a few drinks she just becomes even more Siyeon. Gahyeon gets louder. Handong doesn't drink much. She comes from a proper Chinese family and she knows her mother back in Wuhan keeps an eye on her behavior. The final episode of Dreamcatcher Mind, their reality show, consists of a party with food and alcohol. You'll see it all there. Their company has really allowed them the freedom to be themselves especially since their debut as Dreamcatcher after Minx failed. Dreamcatcher was their last chance at achieving their dreams and it was all or nothing. At the time Jiu said she was betting everything on Dreamcatcher and would hold nothing of herself back from fans. The company quickly realized that their authenticity was a huge factor in drawing fans to the group, especially international fans, so they had few restrictions put on them. They do have filters on their Vlives now so there are no more 'accidents' as happened in the past. The 'accidents' of course are all fan favorites and were mostly caused by Sua and the Korean language, which is full or words that sound like curse words. You saw it the clip of Sua playing the word game with Jiu. Sua was saying the Korean for 'shoe' which sounds very much like the 'F' word especially if you're wearing headphones and can't really hear it clearly. That was why Jiu was shocked. That's the reason why one of the most common phrases in Korean that you will hear a lot is 'please don't misunderstand'.

As someone else already commented, Handong isn't the foodie. But compared to most other K-pop groups, all of the Dreamcatcher members are. JiU loves trying new things and eats pretty much everything. So she's probably who you'd normally call the foodie. She's the type of person I'd bring along for my vacations (since they tend to be food related). SuA is probably the only one who's actually good at cooking. She doesn't eat cheese or mushrooms. According to various vlives she has cooked a lot for the others. Siyeon likes tteokkbokki. She doesn't eat seafood. Handong likes hot pot. Allergic to chocolate but loves it and eats it anyway. Really dislikes perilla. Yoohyeon also likes tteokkbokki. She doesn't eat olives. Best kept away from the kitchen as you could probably see from her episode. Dami loves sweet potatoes. She's a very slow eater and doesn't eat much. She HATES pineapple due to a near suffocation when she was younger. Gahyun loves burgers (there's an Insomnicsy video about Dreamcatcher and burgers; Gahyun is in every single clip) and pork belly. She hates sweet potatoes. She's had one vlive episode where she went fishing, then ate sashimi made from the fish she caught. She's also bought and reviewed trendy desserts (and very honestly said that she disliked most of it). She tries making trendy food for the others from time to time, but so far her success rate isn't good... All of them love steak, chicken, and noodles. Though all of them like different types of noodles.
I have had quite the learning experience through my life and it results in me being 'on the fence' about a lot of things. I don't easily make up my mind quickly because I really try to see all sides of an argument (I have been told many times that I think too much). But I also have felt the sting of favoritism. So I cannot tell six of these amazing, wonderful ladies that one member of the group is better than the rest. I just can't. I love each of these ladies equally for all of their individual strengths, weaknesses and quirks. So I am OT7 for Dreamcatcher, my Ult Group in all of Music (and not just K-Pop).

By the way, yes. Over the years, "this is.." often showed the characteristic sides of the participants, and in 2023 they were not. (for example, Sua's unique laugh or Yoohyeon's clumsiness). So if you have time and desire, try to watch episodes from other years.😉

Big yes to other This is... seasons! 2020 really set a baseline, added to 2021... the newer seasons are still amazing to watch but they are just adding details; the main intros are in earlier seasons.
At least with the 1st JiU video, you appear to be watching at 1.25 speed. We'll see if it stays that way. There's also This is series for 2020. 2021 and 2022 with different clips. They are a series with yearly seasons.
It's just too fast, ruining their natural timing, making everything feel rushed, and some of the subtitles go by too quick. May just have to slow you down to compensate. I'd suggest not doing it this way in the future. Spend the appropriate amount of time with them instead of speed mode.

@@sassjastans I work with media, so I'm very sensitive to when things are off, such as speed, frame rate, pitch, audio/video sync, so it throws me a bit. Some people's computers even vary their own playback speed slightly which sometimes I can hear. I'm like, the song seems a bit fast for what I'm used to hearing. Language does make a difference. I myself watch some content in English at anywhere from 1.25 to 2.00 to save time. It all really depends on how fast talkers people are. Some people are such slow talkers that even 2.00 they sound normal. Dreamcatcher are not slow, so when they're sped up, it all starts running together. Not that I understand Korean, but I still like to hear what they say and pick up some words, emotions, vibe, etc. and that gets a little lost when accelerated because nuance is lost and everything else flashes by too quick. At least setting to 0.75 speed helped get through, not that I have seen these videos dozens of times.
These ladies are a real problem for me. At first, my clear bias was JiU. And Dami was my wrecker. But that was when Handong was still in China, so I didn't yet know her. But when she came back... oh, lord. Suddenly I found myself with two biases. Then we have Gahyeon. At first she was just... the obligatory 'cute one' that every group seems to have. But as time went on, she evolved. And now... I have two biases, and two wreckers...

It’s fine to be confused with Yooh and Dong bcs even their mothers mistook them before lol. A lot of baby somnias also had a hard time with those two.
My bias is Jiu (kinda obvious haha). I also wonder why bcs when I first got into them, I was attracted to Gahyeon, but as I continued watching them, I gravitated towards Jiu. Maybe it’s bcs she’s really soft? Like her aura? I cant explain it well. I really lover her voice too, it contrasts their music and she sounds like a warm hug.

Jiu is my bias. When she smiles it's like the sun coming out from behind a cloud on a cool Spring day, and suddenly you feel warm.

There is a 'This is' series for each year starting in 2020 so you can see the changes in them since then. I had trouble at first with Yoohyeon and Handong, but also Siyeon and Sua. That was in 2017 though and Siyeon's face has changed a lot as she's matured so they no longer look alike.
Si in Korean is pronounced like 'she'
Jiu is a foodie and has a restaurant show called 'What Jiu!'. She loves beer and wine. Sua is very fond of whiskey and becomes even more chaotic after a few drinks and has a huge capacity. Dami doesn't drink at all. Yoohyeon gets tipsy very quickly so doesn't drink very often. Siyeon hates the smell of alcohol and after a few drinks she just becomes even more Siyeon. Gahyeon gets louder. Handong doesn't drink much. She comes from a proper Chinese family and she knows her mother back in Wuhan keeps an eye on her behavior. The final episode of Dreamcatcher Mind, their reality show, consists of a party with food and alcohol. You'll see it all there.
Their company has really allowed them the freedom to be themselves especially since their debut as Dreamcatcher after Minx failed. Dreamcatcher was their last chance at achieving their dreams and it was all or nothing. At the time Jiu said she was betting everything on Dreamcatcher and would hold nothing of herself back from fans. The company quickly realized that their authenticity was a huge factor in drawing fans to the group, especially international fans, so they had few restrictions put on them. They do have filters on their Vlives now so there are no more 'accidents' as happened in the past. The 'accidents' of course are all fan favorites and were mostly caused by Sua and the Korean language, which is full or words that sound like curse words. You saw it the clip of Sua playing the word game with Jiu. Sua was saying the Korean for 'shoe' which sounds very much like the 'F' word especially if you're wearing headphones and can't really hear it clearly. That was why Jiu was shocked. That's the reason why one of the most common phrases in Korean that you will hear a lot is 'please don't misunderstand'.

sua is my bias !! girlie might lowkey be the funniest idol in kpop. and she's very affectionate (sometimes in an overpowering way) which is relatable :p shes also an insanely good dancer singer rapper etc..

As someone else already commented, Handong isn't the foodie. But compared to most other K-pop groups, all of the Dreamcatcher members are.
JiU loves trying new things and eats pretty much everything. So she's probably who you'd normally call the foodie. She's the type of person I'd bring along for my vacations (since they tend to be food related).
SuA is probably the only one who's actually good at cooking. She doesn't eat cheese or mushrooms. According to various vlives she has cooked a lot for the others.
Siyeon likes tteokkbokki. She doesn't eat seafood.
Handong likes hot pot. Allergic to chocolate but loves it and eats it anyway. Really dislikes perilla.
Yoohyeon also likes tteokkbokki. She doesn't eat olives. Best kept away from the kitchen as you could probably see from her episode.
Dami loves sweet potatoes. She's a very slow eater and doesn't eat much. She HATES pineapple due to a near suffocation when she was younger.
Gahyun loves burgers (there's an Insomnicsy video about Dreamcatcher and burgers; Gahyun is in every single clip) and pork belly. She hates sweet potatoes. She's had one vlive episode where she went fishing, then ate sashimi made from the fish she caught. She's also bought and reviewed trendy desserts (and very honestly said that she disliked most of it). She tries making trendy food for the others from time to time, but so far her success rate isn't good...
All of them love steak, chicken, and noodles. Though all of them like different types of noodles.

I have had quite the learning experience through my life and it results in me being 'on the fence' about a lot of things. I don't easily make up my mind quickly because I really try to see all sides of an argument (I have been told many times that I think too much). But I also have felt the sting of favoritism. So I cannot tell six of these amazing, wonderful ladies that one member of the group is better than the rest. I just can't. I love each of these ladies equally for all of their individual strengths, weaknesses and quirks. So I am OT7 for Dreamcatcher, my Ult Group in all of Music (and not just K-Pop).
I totally agree! It’s so hard to choose just one when each person has her own charms and beautiful characteristics. And we never have to choose, because we love them all! So I totally get you. 😍 a sad reality is.. there may be people who are so focused on stanning just one bias, that they become so toxic to the other members.. 😫 that type of behavior is not welcome in this fandom. Hi :D ofc this videos are great and u'll be able to know them better. But this specific playlist from 2023, tried to do something a little bit different. In terms of showing more from them, beside the most common from each of them. Jiu for example, is the foodie (For sure) on the group. But in this video, Insomnicsy decided to do something different (great idea btw) :P
By the way, yes. Over the years, "this is.." often showed the characteristic sides of the participants, and in 2023 they were not. (for example, Sua's unique laugh or Yoohyeon's clumsiness). So if you have time and desire, try to watch episodes from other years.😉

It's just too fast, ruining their natural timing, making everything feel rushed, and some of the subtitles go by too quick. May just have to slow you down to compensate. I'd suggest not doing it this way in the future. Spend the appropriate amount of time with them instead of speed mode.

@@sassjastans I work with media, so I'm very sensitive to when things are off, such as speed, frame rate, pitch, audio/video sync, so it throws me a bit. Some people's computers even vary their own playback speed slightly which sometimes I can hear. I'm like, the song seems a bit fast for what I'm used to hearing.
Language does make a difference. I myself watch some content in English at anywhere from 1.25 to 2.00 to save time. It all really depends on how fast talkers people are. Some people are such slow talkers that even 2.00 they sound normal. Dreamcatcher are not slow, so when they're sped up, it all starts running together. Not that I understand Korean, but I still like to hear what they say and pick up some words, emotions, vibe, etc. and that gets a little lost when accelerated because nuance is lost and everything else flashes by too quick.
At least setting to 0.75 speed helped get through, not that I have seen these videos dozens of times.
These ladies are a real problem for me. At first, my clear bias was JiU. And Dami was my wrecker. But that was when Handong was still in China, so I didn't yet know her. But when she came back... oh, lord. Suddenly I found myself with two biases. Then we have Gahyeon. At first she was just... the obligatory 'cute one' that every group seems to have. But as time went on, she evolved. And now... I have two biases, and two wreckers...
