This is the change TCR so desperately needed! I can see this series growing so much over the next 13 weeks, so many are jumping into the sessions for Week 13! Thank you for doing another TCR video Dave!
Great for the series/community that one of the BIG boy streamers are shedding some light on a great series. Hopefully this will attract more people to participate. Keep up the good work 👏🏽
Just a quick bit of advice for the TCRs, I know you're already quick in them but they really shine when you get the break bias even lower! i run 61 as a maximum in the honda, with some tracks even going down to 55, and it allows for much better exits and rotation on entry, just a thought
Having been an engineer in IMSA & SRO it’s awesome to see these get a proper refresh. We’ve only had 1 tire compound for the cars but the tire strategy is interesting in IRL races. Sometimes just front w/ fuel or longer enduros we do 4 tires around the 2nd tire change.
We should be seeing more TCRs as well later this or next year since the team at iRacing picked up some TCR licenses from WTCR. Hopefully that gives another resurgence to drivers coming into the series. Week 13 for sure at the start lol great race though, SP is a difficult track for the TCRs for sure.
When you get those "secret" pedals, it might be a good idea to also try the sim magic haptics (you can mount them to pretty much any pedal) too see how the compare.
I test drove these cars last night, had never tried them, but they're really fun! I'm doing GT4 for season 3 but i could honestly see myself doing TCR for season 4. Looks like a blast!
Cracking start, definitely only a W13 move to make! You did give me plenty of room, my terrible line out of the first left hander was only ever going to end in understeer at turn4- which it certainly did! THAT, and a distinctive paint scheme in my mirror threw me off too! New tires feel very different, am very hopeful for more consistent TCR official splits this season Till next race!
I pretty much only race the TCR's and have done since they introduced the Civic, Elantra and Veloster and bloody love em!!! In fact I was in that last TCR race you did...I was the one who said hello :) Be great if you did a full season Dave.
Good advertisement for the series! Maybe I give it a go in S3 as well. I was always hesitating as most of the times there was only a single split. Most of the time with drivers way above my skill/iRating. I already own three of the TCRs but I move them way to seldomly.
Enjoy the Active Pedals Dave. I just got the Brake pedal & passive throttle, they're incredible. Look forward to the review & although, as always, price is subjective, I feel they're worth every penny. Having actual resistance & ABS you can't just push through, like you can with the haptics is an amazing feeling, enjoy.
Dave, you always make it look easy. These things look like fun. I think I'll have to throw my hat in the ring this season. If you're testing those active pedals, let us know how they work on the oval side as well. They're outside my budget, but I'm always interested in hearing about good tech.
Going to review the active pedal? I’d like to know if it’s worth it for someone to go that route when they are still fairly new. I have Fanatec CSL v3 right now, been on iracing for 5 months and have settled into 1500-1600 IR. Have a P1x Pro rig so I’m set there. Would like to know if you think the active pedal truly aids a driver (allows them to be faster) over the heusinkveld Ultimate+ pedals. Would prefer to only invest one more time in sim hardware now that I know I’m racing regularly and hope that adding a few cars and tracks allowing me to enter some different series will allow me to increase IR. Likely go to do a Simucube pro base and a wheel with a clutch paddle so I’m looking to move to a two pedal setup only. Thanks Dave, I’ll be eagerly waiting to see your testing and feedback!

Great update for the TCR’s. I wanted to ask you if you’ve tried the VRS pedals and if so would you recommend them as an upgrade to heusinkveld sprints?
If possible, could you please comment if you have to turn them on and off every time you hop onto the rig or one can leave them on (like they say on their site). Im just curious how it actually is in real life... do they get hot or make a subtle noise if you dont turn them off. Thank you very much in advance Dave!
Good update, I love TCR! But I feel it's a day late and a dollar short. If it had been included in last months update the series would have been more popular I'm sure. But to include it in the update with Indy getting wet tires, a new track, and the Mustang GT3. I know I wont be racing this series, as I'll be doing GT3, Radical SR10, and Porsche Cup Series.
I got the Civic Type R recently but did not really plan to do much with it, maybe get my feet wet. I dont like FWD very much, I suck so bad with them. But I may just try to do a few races in the coming season. I have no data to compare, but it might be fun to do. On occasion. I already have plenty I want to run full time :)
The TCR series was THE MOST popular series on iR (of the paid content) before they butchered it by matching the fixed/open schedules, sifting the race times to every other hour, and then messing around with GT4....
Great racing Dave :) nice the TCR.. don't do that much. Mybe a year ago i did a race :( nice too hear that you test more pedals. i recently posted a discord PM to you with some questions :) but i guess that's the wrong place. :) I am thinking to replace the Fanatec DD1 including the Porsche wheel. so i need some advise and input :) So let the test video sequence start :)
Would love iracing to get the BTCC as now Rfactor doesn’t have the exclusive. Love the touring car racing but think they should also adjust the safety rating for a bit of rubbing.
I have been looking for BTCC or TCR to race in. I bought the rf2 pack last year and never raced online due to lack of other people. I will give it a go here and see if it is any better.
It's a real shame these cars see so little attention from drivers. The IMSA bi-weekly mutliclass race usually only manages to fill one of the splits with the TCRs
I've always been tempted to try out this series, but the low level of participation has made me hesitate. I'm definitely down to try it now if the competition is there.
@@sloth_energy I'm interested in the perceived "pressure" or "strength" and speed of how he applies the brake and throttle. And how much actual pedel travel he has. If that makes sense?

@@davecamyt OK, that was my guess but wanted to be sure so thanks a ton for confirming. Looks like I need to get that rolling because it sure seems handy with what I heard from it in just this one race.
I discovered the TCR series the last 3 weeks of the season , sadly i am a low irating driver and with the most 2 splits i am totally out classed in every race usually in last position with half a lap gap to the leaders at the end , but man i do enjoy driving the Honda , i just need to get faster ....
I missed you Dave. Sorry haven't watched in a bit. Been simming hard but with Fight sim. Nothing better than these 2 sims. Flying airliners is very satisfying. To be able to set these planes up to safely get from one place to another is very easy after the "set up". The flight is not the fun of it. Anyway sim racing is still a must for me.
When you say they've adjusted the tire wear, do you mean just TCR, or all Road and Nascar series. Cause some Nascar tracks, the superspeedways have very little tire wear and no need to change when gas is needed. Also, driving on the grass when someones start is so bad that it could cause mayhem, I'd do it. And about the pedal review to come. Why has so much disfavor fallen on Fanatec?
