    A few things I want to correct & mention:
    - Run time varies based on battery type, charge level and capacity, model, operating style and grass conditions. However, I can say that with an AP300 battery, you can expect to cut up to 2,500 sq ft. of grass or 45 minutes of run time.
    - The mowing blade speed is 3,200 RPM, not 3,600.
    - Deck setting 2 is 1.03" while setting 3 is 1.70". Yes I know, super weird...

    • @lindsaybrown7357
      @lindsaybrown7357 8 месяцев назад

      I've been using this for nearly 2 years and find run time is also affected by temperature.
      If it's a warm day, I get way less runtime and have to do noticeably more battery changes.

    I got the master-craft version none propelled. On sale end of season price 250$ it’s amazing and I got a decent size lawn. The two batteries I got with it charge almost as fast as it takes to discharge them. 4 batteries and two chargers keep you going none stop.

      This is true, however one does get fed up walking up and down changing batteries and if there is no where to plug in, well 🤔... And more often than not the plug is a fair distance from the lawn you are mowing.

    Fill, thanks for the information and the Stihl reviews. I'm wondering after using the products for awhile now, how do you feel about the Stihl battery line? I've seen some jumps in Stihl's battery improvements, and considering a jump from gas to battery for the 2024 season. I currently use Stihl gas equipment so wanting to find others who have made the switch to Stihl's battery lineup like you have and get honest feedback on the products? Thanks in advance.

    I'm into both the AK and AP battery lines, and I have a smaller yard, so I bought the RMA510. My yard is heavily treed, so there's always some sort of debris on it; leaves, small twigs, etc. In the fall we have tremendous leaf clean-up to do. Long story short, this lawn mower was a huge disappointment. It's vacuuming ability is virtually non-existent. It rolls right over most debris without disturbing it, where my gas mower would suck it right up. The blade speed is there; I think the problem is the design of the deck and, most importantly, the design of the blade itself. I really like my Stihl battery hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaw and string trimmer, but I sold the mower very quickly and am back to using my gas Honda.

      @@jmljml5065 It’s vacuum ability is excellent. When I dethatch my lawn, it cleans up the debris without issues. I dont know if any other electric mower that can do that. Also the SR is over 90 pounds with the battery. That weight along with the flex handles keeps the mower steady. However it is so well balanced along with its aluminum deck that it is very light. In fact, I find it more nimble that a Stihl 460

    • @jmljml5065
      @jmljml5065 Год назад +2

      You are absolutely correct; it's vacuuming ability is very poor. I like my other Stihl battery tools, but I sold this mower very quickly. The problem is that Stihl (Greenworks) designs the blade for max runtime rather than for lifting ability; with a high-lift blade this mower would probably be okay, because the blade-speed is definitely there.

      The RMA 510 won't even pick up a pine needle laying on top of 3 in grass! Or leaves for that matter! The blade design is totally wrong; very little up lift. I cut at 3 in and it won't pick up the track from the previous cut either. There is a Greenworks high lift blade out there somewhere that fits this. I paid $900 for a POS mower that I can't take back. ($900 store credit minus 10% restocking fee!) Stihl says take ot the dealer!

    I looked at this but $700 for a push mower is too much. Bought a $300 gas Cub Cadet self propelled. My old Lawn Boy lasted 27 years. I don't believe a battery power one will last that long, especially with the number of batteries it would take.

    Hi Fill,
    A helpful video.
    I don't have all the lingo right, so please bear with me. My question is about the rear chute.
    Another brand was found to build up (not fully discharge) the all clippings into the catcher/bag. So whilst the catcher/bag appeared not full, the user had to manually scoop the clippings near the chute into the catcher/bag.
    My question is, did you experience anything like the above (under different settings, eg, mulch mode on/off or catcher/bag on/off etc)? Thank you.

    • @fillslawncareplus

    I'd be open to one of these if I knew it would cut 6" to 10" grass/weeds for 4 to five lawns in a row. Not just do maintenance work. I mow vacant rent houses and some of them are pretty bad. I just dont see this performing like a gas engine in the least. At least not now- its too early in the game for a gas replacement. And Im not talking about cutting down jungles, I mean just like shin high, which isn't bad.

    Already seems like you broke off a piece of that plastic part that sucks in air to pull more grass clippings into the bag. (Even looks like more or less like TurboStar from Sabo/ John Deere).
