As far as I’m concerned, the kids are legit if Laenor don’t say shit which he never does lmao. Like Laenor was so supportive of Rhaenyra and their sons even though they weren’t his and I absolutely love that. Also book Viserys being a doting grandpa who made it clear that Jace, Luke, and Joff WERE Rhaenyra’s heirs and Velaryons was supper cute too. I was robbed of book Viserys fr.
Also, Olivia Cooke talked about how she doesn’t really like Alicent and how Alicent is all about upholding the patriarchy which she disagrees with strongly. It was nice to see the actor understand Alicent’s character and it looks like Cooke is going to do an amazing job portraying her.

I already dislike alicent more than I disliked cersei. Yeah I hated cersei but I respect that she was who she was. Alicent acts like the whole world trying to slight her. She ambitious just like her dad but won't come out and call a thing a thing

And they're all really strong characters and very well casted, on TOP of all being beautiful.

Everyone is saying it's a 10 year time jump.
Which in the time line would make Rhaenyra 27 since she got married at 17 however in the preview Queen Alicent says its been 10 years since the step stones war. From the war to the wedding its been 4 years, so the time jump can't be 10 years can it ? Cause then it would be 14 years since the war of the step stones.
The time lapse is crazy 🤪 I can't wait for the last 5 episodes. Vhaegar is supposed to be close to 200 years old by the time of the dance so she's massive as F.
Also how come she isn't on Dragonstone she's supposed to be there since she's the heir. Like since the wedding she should have been on Dragonstone.

The time jump is likely 12-13 years. It would conflict with the possible ages of the children otherwise. Alicent may have been rounding down.
I’m not sure I saw somewhere saying in this episode she is like 22 or 23 because she was like 12 or 13 in the beginning and then the war of the step stones was like 7yrs so she would be 18/19 and then the 1-3 years In which Alicent had her 2 kids so she is in her early or mid 30’s in the next jump. Cuz we don’t know exactly when daemon left it. The 10 yrs could be immediately after her wedding or fews year after that event

Alicent wanting Rhaenyra to find love herself or wanting her to choose, then being upset at Rhaenyra for falling for Ser Criston Cole or even sleeping with him in secret is still so strange to me. I feel like if anyone could understand how messed up the marriages are and being forced to marry someone is, it would be Alicent but instead she’s mad and/or jealous.
It's giving internalized misogyny and wanting the status quo of patriarchy to be preserved even if it makes her and all women miserable. Also, if Rhaenyra had chosen to stay chaste and kept her maidenhood she still would not have been accepted by the realm and they would have wanted Alicent's son to take the throne. It does not matter what Rhaenerya would have done, it would have been factions

I know people bring up the fact that Rhaenyra “lied” or kept it a secret from Alicent and that’s why she’s upset, but I think people forget that Alicent kept the secret of having many talks with Viserys and getting him to like her from Rhaenyra. Although Otto told her to talk with the King, Alicent isn’t completely innocent.
Alicent is all about duty and her faith. So Rhaenyra shirking her duty and being dishonest and promiscuous, and having non-people pleasing ways makes Alicent feel indignant, jealous and resentful.
It’s giving jealousy. It’s giving “you’re living the life I want but there’s nothing I can do so I’m going to be a hater”
She’s not going to choose some friend over her own kids. Idk why people need to find white hats and black hats in this story

Daemon really didn't commit many crimes if you think about it. Blood and Cheese was retaliation for Luke. He killed his wife but that's his way of filing for divorce.
Daenerys killed far more people including her brother (he did deserve it) even before she roasted King's Landing on Drogon. Dany killed hundreds of people without trial. But she's looked upon as a good person. She freed slaves in places that didn't require much diplomacy that she's weak at.
Daenerys had no claim to the throne after her family lost to Robert. If another family takes over, claims to the throne go to their offspring. But Dany still invaded a country she's not from and killed thousands of innocent people from her bogus claims. But I hear Cersei was worse? 🤣🤣
Being nicer than Cersei doesn't make Dany a good queen or person. And Dany had no knowledge of how the justice system works. Just kill people without trial. Get emotionally flustered easily. At least her side piece (Daario) knew his place unlike Criston Cole.
Dany's body count is far higher than Daemon's. Targs as rulers isn't the best idea. Only Jaehaerys was truly great. Perhaps the GOAT character in all of Westeros. Daemon really isn't that bad compared to most Targ kings or to Dany. And Daemon was a great dad.
Check this out. Dany committed 15 violations or only 2 less than Ramsay Bolton when it comes to war crimes. And this was BEFORE Season 8 started.
