I like the description of her captains as "The young heroes I woo." And it fits with all of them too, Archer, obviously, (Although obviously he didn't exist when this song was written) young, eager, and ready to prove himself. Kirk, the standard hero, craving to understand the universe. But then Picard, so worn and stoic on the outside, but still with that adventurer's heart to him.
Hmm, the verse with the line: "For eternal as I, he will live without end, for there's always great deeds to be done."... It makes me think that she does not differentiate between her commanders based on body/culture/hierarchy/etc. That all her commanders look the same to her due to the spirit of adventure and trust and purpose (based on the commanders we know of) that enlivens them. It would follow that anyone who seeks and can come to embody those traits can aspire to be her commander.
I find this song incredble hard to listen too since it for some reason only comes out of one side of my head set,, but I mussle though it none the less, I love it
Wow - not to toot my own horn - even austensibly but... my dad was like BEST BEST friends with Julia Ecklar YEARS ago. She wrote Innocence Lost on the Genisis record for my father. But anyway - I have an entire copy that is in very decent condition if you would like me to get you a copy of it. I also have a copy of her Wolfriders Reflections record. Just drop me a message.

What about Pike, Harriman and Garrett?
Thank you for saving and making accessible this unique and beautiful music!
Let us make sure that history never forgets the name 'Enterprise.'
The verse about the "unclaimed commander" remaining planetbound is about the shuttle prototype, named Enterprise...it never went to space.
To boldly go, where no man has gone before...

"The commander" is never named, and is as much a spirit as the ship.
One of the best songs of the last century. Thanks Julia,

I love how she sings this song.
This song is so filk that one if two audio channels is entirely dedicated to background noise
One of the most Truthful songs ever written.
I knew Julia (G'tan) ages ago. I even hear the real first chapter of her 1st book.

This song plays on mono, but I had my work headset in that ear
Enterprise navigation lights, red and green. anyone notice something..... off?
The right side of any ship should be marked with green.
Obviously the image is reversed… probably from the mirror universe! 😉

Did they take you up on the offer?
Have you ever digitized the copy you have?
I would also like to hear a proper version of this song if possible
Is the offer still up?
