I want** to see 100% of your quilting journey! Quilts are also the perfect scrap buster project. I hope to see you include bits and pieces of your sewing projects from the past 🖤
A quilt video will be wonderful! I have been quilting for 46 years and it’s been such a fun journey. I love how you consistently choose beautiful fabrics and pair them with the perfect patterns. I teach alterations on my blog, so I am always impressed with young sewists who are making wardrobes like yours! Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see all the finished projects as always!!
You have such beautiful skin on your decolletage, please do the scoop neck on the longer version of the dress. You look stunning in the shorter version. Yes to quilting videos !
I’m a quilter!!! You will be great at it. Quilts can be so modern and artistic now, you can definitely make it your own style! Don’t skip trimming or ironing and it will turn out great!
I’m losing my mind over your new pattern over here!! Totally making several of that once it drops! And yes yes yes to quilting! I would love a quilt a long series if others are interested in hopping in. I’ve had one planned to start on for a while but like you said, it is repetitive and sometimes my brain loses interest in those kind of things. Having a little quilting group would be awesome motivation! Winter sewing plans include Christmas gifts (which I really ought to start on), experimenting more with knit fabrics, a hounds tooth oversized coat, and to try and find a good trouser pattern to make a couple pairs of those since I’m in desperate need of something other than skinny jeans to wear on my bottom half 😅
I would love to see your quilting journey, I've been really into that recently. This season one of the makes I am very excited for is a quilted coat since I am headed into winter! I thrifted some old quits and I will be turning them into a super cute cropped coat!
I have always been fascinated by quilts, especially the more modern quilts. But I have never made one. So I would love to see how you approach quilt making. With your exquisite taste in fabrics, I am sure you would do an amazing quilt.
I would love to see your quilt making projects, I make them too, this winter making a coat and a long skirt in plaid, I am also making a dress for my lil sis for Christmas , Have a beautiful week
Hi Janelle, Love all your sewing plans, and am very happy to watch you sewing anything at all! So, yes please! Absolutely love the name Daisy, but won’t say any more so I don’t spoil the surprise for other viewers. Very exciting! Still haven’t got back to sewing since Covid, must be about a month now. You’ve inspired me to get my machine out tomorrow afternoon and do something! Great video, as always. Lots of love, Deb x
I’m making a quilt as I watch this! I can’t wait to see where quilting takes you. I was obsessed after just making one, and that was over 10 years ago!
I have the same crinkle gingham and I loooooove it! I made a belted baby doll pinafore with it and it's so comfy. Really easy to sew with, but the crinkle does press out (might be obvious but I wasnt expecting it haha) so be aware. I've got the textured brown check, but in blue! I want that to be my picnic dress. And I got a regular big stripe yellow gingham last of all. Think I'll give that a multi-channel elastic waist and a nice full skirt. And yeah, I bought all three of those gingham/checks all at the same time. I was weak
Haha I’m glad I’m not the only one who is obsessed!! 😂 your plans sound amazing! Also, thanks for the tip about the crinkle. That’s annoying because I love the texture of it (and can’t stand not ironing when I sew), hopefully it comes back once it’s washed or something
Your videos always get me hankering to sew something. We have different colour pallets (I'm more jewel tones than autumn colours) and style preferences, but your enthusiasm and confidence is so contagious. I'd love to see how you make quilts, too. Congratulations on your new pattern, what an achievement ❤️
Yes! I want to see your quilting journey! You should do a Gingham quilt design, since that is your favorite pattern for fabric. I know that Sister Chicks Quilts has a free pattern on her website for it. She also has a video tutorial as well.
Yes I would love to see the quilt making! Such lovely plans for your summer sewing :) I'm in Aus as well so I'm also planning all my summer makes! First on the list is swimwear!
Struggled with the Summer bit. Then heard you talk and remembered, silly me, you are in Australia!. Been there 20yrs ago. Wish I was there now. Looking forward to seeing how the dresses turn out. Also as a Quilter I can't wait to see your artistic version.
I’m literally making a patchwork dress right now, but with blue and green gingham, because of the exact same red and pink dress 😂 I’m so happy with how it’s turning out so far. But I’m doing a baby doll style dress instead
I'm currently knitting a striped cardigan but it may turn into a sweater vest if I end up being too lazy to do the sleeves. No pattern. I'm just vibing with the yarn. And yes do a quilting video. That's another thing I've always meant to try but never really got around to.
Yay I’m glad you want to see the process! I’m pretty nervous about it too. I was lucky to find someone’s half finished quit at an op-shop recently, so I’m going to practice with that first 😊
Would love to see how u get on with making your quilt! It's something I've always loved the idea of doing, and never gotten around to it (partly because I already have a ton of crochet blankets!) :)
Hey Janelle…I stumbled upon your videos a month back and have just been coming back for more. I’ve always had great interest in fabrics, trying new designs. I’ve no sewing history but I really want to pick it up! I don’t even own a sewing machine… please do consider making a complete beginner’s guide to sewing. I love your videos and I would love to see your quilt making journey!
Thanks so much for watching and following along 🧡 I’ve been planning a beginners sewing series for literally years, but fingers crossed it actually happens early next year 🤞🏻
What beautiful fabrics and the patterns are lovely hope you do lots of tutorials keep us going through the winter😭 we have had the most terrible weather cant wait for our summer got months to go yet. Love your videos and tutorials take care.( I’m in England by the way.)
I invariably adore your fabrics, Janelle, and this selection is no exception! I can't wait to see the dresses you make from them, and yes, a video about your foray into quilting would be great. We are heading into winter here in the UK and I am making mock neck jersey tops and sweatshirts, and warm trousers... Nothing as exciting as your plans ☹
A bunch of people probably mentioned this to you already. But the term you may be looking for is parti-colour from historical medieval. Predominantly people think of the court jester costume when they think parti-coliur but it was common in that time in general. A modern term that may also express your intention better than patchwork would be pattern blocking. A bit like colour block designs. Anyways love the ideas and so excited for the parti-pattern designs. Totally my vibe.
Hi, Janelle, I thught you were going to tell us you are expecting!!! When I was in high school, my sister made me a red gingham mini dress from the Buttrick pattern you show. My home ec teacher asked me about it in the hall, and then discretely told about it in class, praising its style.
Oh dear, what a let down! 😂 That pattern is one of the best patterns I’ve ever made! Such a unique style, but so comfortable/flattering. And also such an easy make! It’s so fun to hear of all the stories of others who made it and wore it back in the day x
I’m loving your choices of fabrics. Can’t wait to see the finished items and also your new dress release. 😊 Edited to add that my plans for the season (winter for me as I live in England) are: to finish my dark green merino wool Rosery jumper and I’m making a needle cord skirt in dark brown. 😊
Ooooo getting into patchwork quilts is highly addictive Janelle, and you're correct it's very therapeutic and so much fun. Love your upcoming ideas and although I live in Melbourne I plan to make a couple more summer dresses and then swing into Winter sewing as these are always rather more tailored and time consuming, so figure to get a head start. Love your fabrics and future sewing plans.
I made a dress using the M7974 pattern recently, and I love it so much! YES please share the quilt making process! I sew mostly clothing right now but am really wanting to get back into quilting! Thanks for another amazing video - I look forward to these "sewing plans" videos all season! 😍😍
This is such a fun summer plans for you. Looking forward to seeing the making journey of the quilt Can't wait to see the end result of all makes. I am planning to make lots of dresses and tops for summer. But my biggest project and fingers crossed it turns out, is a fully lined embrioided summer maxi dress with straps in seam pockets, full skirt and button down frontage. Fabric from spotlight. Thanks for another great video.
I love the fabric you found as well as your plans for summer dresses. I can't wait to see what you make of the large scale gingham. I made a great blouse out of large scale gingham once. A dress would be great.
Very exciting! Looking forward to the Daisy Pattern coming out. Am very keen to see your quilting journey! It’s coming into winter here in the UK but I’ve just bought some fabric to make your smock dress pattern hack from Rosa and Willow. Have a lovely day!
I have your pattern hack playlist saved and am working my way through my favs. Your video tutorials have helped me so much as I struggle with written instructions. Have you ever made the Friday Pattern Project patterns?
If you have any tips on working with gingham/fabrics that require pattern matching please do share! I just made my first dress with a gingham fabric and it took ages lining up the stripes vertically and horizontally in every part of the process!
I’ve been looking for a pattern for this kind of dress! I’ve also been dying to know what pattern you were going to release!! Im so excited to make it. Looks amazing. Im a beginning sewer and I appreciate your clear directions. I also love dresses so I adore all your patterns!
Hi Janelle! can't wait to see how all these projects turn out, even if you already used some patterns. I'm very curious about the McCalls. I’m a quilter!!! You will be great at it. Quilts can be so modern and artistic now, you can definitely make it your own style! Don’t skip trimming or ironing and it will turn out great!

I love getting to share your excitement for summer makes from the northern hemisphere :)
You are so inspiring! I look forward to all of your videos.
I love all your ideas I would love to see your quilt,
I'm heading into winter, so I'm (somewhat frantically) upcycling men's button-down shirts into aprons as Christmas and Yule gifts.
I have the same crinkle gingham and I loooooove it! I made a belted baby doll pinafore with it and it's so comfy. Really easy to sew with, but the crinkle does press out (might be obvious but I wasnt expecting it haha) so be aware.

Yes, please, show the quilt! I do both garment sewing and quilts, it would be a lovely video to watch on this channel!
Your videos always get me hankering to sew something. We have different colour pallets (I'm more jewel tones than autumn colours) and style preferences, but your enthusiasm and confidence is so contagious. I'd love to see how you make quilts, too.

Madison Lynn made the quilted dress in a video dated July 18 but she's called it a bandana dress. She used 3 or 4 different fabrics.

It’s a beautiful pattern 😊
Oooooooooooo.......that patchwork dress, I can't wait!

I love the fabric you found as well as your plans for summer dresses. I can't wait to see what you make of the large scale gingham. I made a great blouse out of large scale gingham once. A dress would be great.
I’m so excited to start sewing with that fabric 😍
Would love to see a quilt making journey!
Very exciting! Looking forward to the Daisy Pattern coming out. Am very keen to see your quilting journey! It’s coming into winter here in the UK but I’ve just bought some fabric to make your smock dress pattern hack from Rosa and Willow. Have a lovely day!
Thank you! Have fun making the Smock dress. It’s honestly one of my all time favourites and I already plan on making another 😍
I have your pattern hack playlist saved and am working my way through my favs. Your video tutorials have helped me so much as I struggle with written instructions. Have you ever made the Friday Pattern Project patterns?
My main hobby is quilt making, I used to be more into clothes making, so I totally understand your journey.
Yessssssss give me all the quilting vids
If you have any tips on working with gingham/fabrics that require pattern matching please do share! I just made my first dress with a gingham fabric and it took ages lining up the stripes vertically and horizontally in every part of the process!
I would love to see a quilting video!
I’ve been looking for a pattern for this kind of dress! I’ve also been dying to know what pattern you were going to release!! Im so excited to make it. Looks amazing. Im a beginning sewer and I appreciate your clear directions. I also love dresses so I adore all your patterns!
Aw thank you! I’m so glad you’re excited for it as much as I am 🧡
I would love to be part of your quilting journey. I've just finished two quilts made with various Japanese blue and white fabrics.
They sound amazing! It must feel like such an accomplishment once you finish a whole quilt!
Hi Janelle! can't wait to see how all these projects turn out, even if you already used some patterns. I'm very curious about the McCalls. Mine is too big as well, it was ambitious for my skills at the time I made it. My second try is better but still not perfect, maybe you'll have some tips to share.
I'd love to see your quilting journey, I'm about to finish my first quilt. I made easy quilt blocks (stars) using fying geese method and fabric scraps from my old projects.

@@RoseryApparel I'ts the only mccalls pattern I had trouble with. I'm petite but always find a way to fix it. I'll try again! :) thanks Janelle.
I’m heading into summer too, hi from Queensland 😎 I’ve been making some summer tops out of cheesecloth, perfect for the humidity 😅
Love cheesecloth 😍 I’m so jealous of your warmth and humidity right now. It’s finally starting to warm up in Tassie this week! 😄
Are you going to do a shop with me at spotlight Hobart when they open their new store in Glenorchy later in Dec ?
I hadn’t thought about it, but yes absolutely! So excited to see a brand new Spotlight store 😍
I’m so exited !!!!! I can’t wait Janelle 😍🤗🤗🤗

I love the top you are wearing. Such beautiful fabric and style. Is this one you made? Is there a video?
I think it's a dress, shown in a video some weeks ago :)
