Mt Tam looks beautiful I'll have to check it out someday soon 😉 The waving woman was funny. Nice looking video!

Very cool. I've been gearing up for a fastpacking set up. Really dig the vest style shoulder straps. I hate running though. Always have. I love backpacking so hopefully this will get me to like running more. Or more like shuffling when it comes to running with a 30L pack lol. I love watching those ultramarathon videos so figure if I train like one then backpacking wil be easier. 😅
Looks great out there. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks! Yeah, that's essentially what I do. Train for Ultras and ruck.
I'm using a 30L US Fastpack 30 in this video. It's sort of an ultravest / backpack hybrid.

@highcountrychronicles Awesome. I basically picked up the cheap knockoff of that but with small changes that might make it better for me. I just got the Aonijie C9111 30L. The chest is a bit tight but otherwise feels great. It feels pretty good up to a 15 lb load. Can't wait to try it out. I'll check out the video.

I just checked it out. It looks like a pretty nice pack. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Jim! We Enjoy your videos and adventures very much. You mentioned in a recent video about using two small hip packs in
conjunction with your back pack as it eases some strain on your back. I too have lower back issues and was wondering
if there way a way to correspond with you about that in a little more detail, ie gear choice, weight, the good and bad, and
specifically how it helps relieve some strain on your back. Really would appreciate hearing more. Thank You! I'm Jim too.

@@joeblow9478 Hi, thanks! Sure, you can ping me through the IG page for starters. @highcountrychronicles
Then email if you prefer. I could also do a video on it, which is probably not a bad idea. 😁

Hi Jim. Thanks for the reply. IG and ping
are unfamiliar to me I am a digital amateur.
I am not on Instagram if that is IG. Can you be more specific? A video would we great
as well! Appreciate your valuable time.
      Jim

@@joeblow9478 No worries. Go to www.highcountryflyfisher.com. You'll find an old email address there you can contact me through.
I'm pretty sure I have an older video where I ran through it. One of the older Cottonwood Lakes videos maybe. I'll try to find it.

Hi Jim. Really enjoy the channel. Can I ask for your opinion? I’m looking to go backpacking around the beginning of May. I’m from the Bay Area so my typical getaway is near Pinecrest. Any advice on a lower elevation spot that’s inland? Thanks Jim

Hi, thank you! Actually, you should be able to get into Camp Lake or maybe even Kennedy in May but if you're looking for something more local, there is the Sunol Wilderness right in the Bay Area. I have a video on the camps here: Exploring The Sunol Wilderness
