Essentially, the TLR RM 2 is a hybrid of the older TLR-1/2/3 style pistol lights and their ProTac Rail long-gun lights. Where the beam throw is sufficiently wide and bright for solid use on either, and the capability to be user-configurable to function VIA either a pressure switch at the back of the light itself or a quick-detach included tape switch. It's actually brilliant, and really begs the question of why other companies haven't thought of offering something similar at a reasonable price point (I'm looking at you, SureFire!).
Since I lack a proper photometer, I have no way of independently verifying the brightness of the Streamlight TLR RM 2, but I can say it is absurdly bright. On my property in the woods of South Carolina, the TLR obliterates the inky darkness of the forest at night. Since in the country we lack any sort of street lights, having a quality bright weapon light is a big deal if you're checking your property for predators or uninvited guests.
If a shooter wishes to mount the light on a Picatinny rail, it features two flexible polymer shoes that snap on to the rail and act as a supporting bracket for the tape. If a shooter doesn't have a rail to mount on, it also includes zip ties and two small channels to weave them through to wrap around a handguard or barrel. And if that's not an option, the switch features two small holes and wood screws to permit mounting directly to a gun. Oh, and it features a two-sided adhesive pad allowing the switch to be basically glued to any part of a gun a shooter wants. (Though you should avoid anything that gets too hot, as it would presumably melt the glue.)

I wish Streamlight would have opted to make this light without the tape switch insert. Why build a light aimed at the low profile market and then ruin it by raising the whole thing up a centimeter to make room for that clunky right angle tape switch adapter. Instead of resting nice and flush against the weapon, you have to maneuver your thumb up to actuate the endcap button. Could have been the perfect light, instead it's just confused about it's identity. Got me looking at those Inforce WMLX lights.

Its a no go for me. I dont understand making a low profile light and then needing a bulky adapter. Had they made this able to directly mount to MLOC I would be interested and most likely purchased.
Streamlight does sell rechargeable 16650 batteries on Amazon for the RM2.

Nice. I have a Streamlight ProTac HL. It's ok but a CR123 hog. I keep the cap slightly undone so there is no connection. Otherwise the batteries drain without even being used. You should really check out Olight. Great product inginuity. Great price point. Overall very good products. Each Olight I own outperforms my Streamlight.

Olight beat them to the finish line on this.. and their light are rechargeable - no trying to find batteries.
That's my only grip. That and quick lever mount.
Olights are trash
Gonna suck when power goes out or shit hits the fan and you can't charge it. Better stock up on battery packs to keep it charged lol.
@@CuttinChris just buy a solar charger/cell about the size of a cell phone to recharge it. 4Patriots has them.
@@XxxAtlantaxxX yeah you can. Most of the solar panels like the goal zeros take most of the day to charge up for a cellphone charge or so.
