- March 15, 2012 in St Louis County, Minnesota, a field investigator's audio recorder captures the voices of four vocalizers, two in the background, and two in the foreground. To the passive observer this might easily be dismissed as wolf howls. But closer scrutiny discloses a number of featurs typical of suspected sasquatch vocals captured across the breadth of North America. These include whoops, integrated wood knocks, a "moan" howl, pitch breaks and vowel transitions from /oo/ to /aa/. Widely held speculation suggests sasquatch employ mimicry in their vocalizations, possibly as a form of subterfuge. This recording would lend credibility to such a theory.
Up among the best Squatch vocals on You Tube.
You can easily tell that whatever that is, it has a HUGE lung capacity! Wow.....I am amazed. If I heard that while camping, it would definetly creep me out. Nice capture.
The one howl at 130ish is exactly the same as I heard late one night near sam rayburn lake here in texas.two hours before the sounds we smelled a horrid stinch mixing wet dog, feces, dead animal.
I have been Up North of Cotton MN in the middle of NO-where/deep woods and heard many wolves, many a night while camping/hunting....and I never heard anything like what is in this vid. I would have been crapping my pants and yelling "GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!" had I heard these howls.
That's really creepy. I can't compare that sound to any other animals, off the top of my head.
These are absolutely amazing! And definitely NOT typical "wolf" or other animal sounds, as there is a definitive "voice" behind these. Astounding....and creepy as hell. I am sure the hair was standing up on the back of your neck the whole time.
I Live in Minnesota And i heard these sounds before
Couldn't make it more than a couple minutes, too scary because I used to live in St Louis County. This makes my skin crawl. NOPE NOPE NOPE
The sasquatch That live here In Minnesota are much more vocal when they're mating season is in full swing...
I live in Minnesota! There's Bigfoot?
Definitly!
not sounding like a typical wolf howl to me..it has a moan like a moose call mixed in and that sound at 4:55 was no wolf!!
Omg I am really freaked out! I tried to do best I could to describe and google this sound I just heard 5 min till 3am central in east texas in our woods east of the property. This is exactly what I heard!! Now I've lived up north (Ohio) most of my life and down here for the last 11. I have also lived outside city limits and know the sound of wolves, and definitely coyotes! I have also been a night owl either working 3rd shifts or enjoying the sounds of the night or the quiet time to myself. Once I saw deer moving swiftly in a huge pack as if they were running for their lives through the corn! Once I heard a very aerie growling outside my window! But right now I am so freaked out I'm shaking uncontrollably! This is the exact sound I heard! If it is a wolf it sounds like it is alone and dark and very big! As I type I hear wood limbs about every few minute breaking like something sneaking or walking slow I there! I'm terrified to the bone as I have animals in my yard and my husband whom is deaf sleeping in the next room! I'd like to think my dogs would bark if it got near the house but if they to fear this thing I'm screwed! Defiantly going to get a gun to protect myself and my family as I have grand kids that like to stay over a lot! Wierd we have a harvest moon tonight as well! I would like to mention that when I was 7 I had a strange encounter one night with something that has always stayed vivid in my mind and I've often wondered if I was just dreaming(though I know I wasn't) and has haunted me ever since! My kids back in the 90's came running to me with a description of a similar encounter that they both were pale and shook up. Now I would love to rationalize all this but I have been unsuccessful and it's very unsettling to me. I wish it was something known to us not what my expiriencing and fear leads me to believe!! Most sincerely, A. Homan east texas
Hi Angie, East Texas is well known for outstanding bigfoot habitat and many encounters have been reported there over the years. Next time you hear this sound, please try to record it with a cell phone or digital recorder. Then contact my and I'll help you identify what you're hearing. If you have one approaching your home at night, just remain indoors and keep the curtains drawn. Reports of them actually coming in contact with people are very rare, but reports of them harassing people with rocks, noise, slaps on the side of the house are very common. You shouldn't have much to worry about if you respect them and keep your distance. For more guidance on your situation I suggest you contact the BFRO by submitting a report to this link: bfro.net/GDB/submitfm.asp . They will have an investigator contact you and they might be able to help with your situation.
This creeped the hell out of me the first night I heard it online.
Thanks for sharing this.

AUSTRALIA......
I wold love to download this to my FoxPro caller and play it in Colorado. I'm in an area where there have been sightings.
Go for it. I've sound blasted this before and had good results on multiple occasions. Sometimes I get wood knocks back, other times I'll get vocals, like whoops.
Im wondering what the howls mean. It sounds almost like they are mourning. Eerie but amazing.
That observation has been made by a lot of people. But I think we should be careful not to anthropomorphise, and apply a meaning to these vocals based on our human interpretation of various sounds. While these might sound mournful to us, they could have an entirely different meaning to the vocalizer(s). When I listen to these closely I don't get a sense of mourning, but one of communal communication. They're obviously vocalizing together, back and forth to each other, and in harmony with each other. Those features have more in common with human singing or canid pack vocalizations.
SasquatchBioacoustic and it's amazing how bigfoots can talk to each other maybe I should do it sounds like that
I deer hunt in St. Louis county every deer season. I wonder what part of the county where it was recorded. It's the largest county in the state by far. From Duluth to International falls, Canada border. Roughly 175 mile long.
Freaking Awesome!!! What model of audio recorder was used for this recording?
I live in Duluth and would love to know where in st. louis county this is. my friends and I have heard these sounds near Two Harbors a couple times..
I have no idea what part of the county they come from. The researcher wants to protect his research area and didn't want to go into specifics, so I didn't ask. For my purposes, county and state is close enough.
I never heard sasquatch make that sound before very creepy.
Your best recording to date
...just plain creepy ! and of course fascinating !!!
Awesome video and very strange indeed! I'm a BF researcher myself and I recorded something very similar to yours on August 3, 2016 west of Deer River, Minnesota on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation. What audio software did you use and how did you make this video. It is awesome! I would like to put on RUclips in same type of format....can you help me out on this?
Don S. I use Audacity to do post-processing on the audio first, then I use Sonic Visualizer to display the spectrogram. Next, as the spectrogram plays back the audio I use a screen capture tool to record the main video. Then I use video editing software to and intro and outro clips & text. Next it gets loaded to RUclips, where I use their online comment tools to create the comment bubbles you see in the video. Alltogether it's a lot of work to produce just one video, that's why I don't post videos very often. I only go to these lengths if it's a really outstanding recording to begin with. I would love to hear your audio though and compare it to some other clips I've studied. Send me an email at mongahela AT gmail DOT com and I'll try to help you with your audio.
I use Sonic Visualizer, on my Chromebook, but so far Audacity isn't compatible with Chrome. I may need to jump on my husbands Mac & download Audacity there when I'm reviewing audio.
This is really good stuff. Thanks for sharing!
Train horn sound is similar in scope and breadth of howls. Could there be a relationship between the two? Could the howls be in answer to the piercing and deafening sounds of a train horn?
Laurie Bruton I don't think they are howling in response to a train because the original audio recording did not have a train preceding the howls. The train horn enters this recording for the first time, about halfway through. ... It's possible they are mimicing a train horn to a degree, but I find it more likely that they are mimicing wolves, in a few of their howls.
Phenomenal! That was so amazing to hear. Not wolves.
wow. What were the circumstances to this. Would love to know all about the history of these sounds.
It's quite possible that these could be dogman sounds rather then sasquatch. They do have a wolf like quality to them but seem to be much too powerful for standard wolf or coyote calls. Also as was pointed out the vowel sounds are not prevalent in standard wolf calls.
maybe it's a strider
Freaking awesome sounds ... reminds me of the infrasound of Lions or Elephants ... there could be ranges of sound here that we can not hear? Also wonder what key this is in ... sounds like D flat!
Lindi Smith Sitting out on my back patio with my mouth hanging open in awe...Damn bugs! Love this, but it's creepy listening in the dark. Even in town!
Marti Brown Just keep the volume low ... you might attract some urban visitors ... mwaha! ;D
Man somethin else. ....wonder what it means? /?.,
Benjamin Smith Maybe ... oh damn I stubbed my toe on that damned tree again ... ohhhhhhh!
Funny haha. ... my toe
was the recorder set in the woods??are those sounds around the 6:00 mark something near the recorder.??it sounds like 2 feet ..
Yes, it was in a wood land setting. The foot steps at the 6:00 mark are quadrupedal though, and not bipedal. What you're hearing is a "trot" pattern from a passing animal, possibly a coyote.
wow! those were loud! great work on these
I'm totally excited, that was amazing, That is totally sasquatch and nothing else.
If this doesn't prove the existance of bigfoots then nothing will. simply awesome!
Where was this recorded?
I really hate, like, REALLY hate people who use annotations on RUclips vids. but this was awesome!!!
3.24: Possible coyote in background. sounds more like an elk to me.
+C Marcoe wow really? i wouldve been lost without a lot of them. but to each its own.
Awesome vocals and Clearly bigfoot activity!
id love to know where this was at?
Cool, thanks for sharing.
At first it sounded like someone blowing a horn.. but I know it's not that.. I know what I would do if I heard something like that is get the hell out of Dodge. Find me a reinforced bunker and lock myself in it until the Special Forces got there.. Not to kill it but to safely get home!!! 😉
Thank you for sharing this.. I have heard similar sounds before..
I'd love to visit where this took place
Yikes!
Too spooky.
those arent wolves
Is that what I think that is? Sasquatch?
