I don't really believe it was a "blindside" hit either, because if you look at 1:47 Wilson plays the puck and sees Reaves. He then looks away, thinking Reaves won't hit him, because it would obviously be a late hit. The problem is Reaves did hit him. So really the only thing wrong with the hit is that it's a little late. Wilson has made these types of hits before, and did so literally just a few games ago in New Jersey against Brett Seney. I firmly believe you need to keep your head up, and BE AWARE of who's on the ice, especially guys like Wilson and Reaves. But hey, hockey has gone soft, so why not suspend Reaves for a game or 2 for god knows what.

As a golden knight fan I blame reaves 100% for not winning the Stanley cup in 18. He was a complete waste of a player all he did was cost us games. We are happy he’s gone

Алексей Жуков, not that Wilson didn’t deserve it, but the hit wasn’t clean. Wilson didn’t even have the puck, but when he was skating in, reaves went for the hit. Reaves could have just skated by him. There is nothing about this hit that you could say to make it clean.

I love how "it's a blindside hit" but one of the comments was good enough to point out he's looking at Reaves before he moves the puck AND decides to skate right into his path and cut him off. The only reason he could have possibly looked away at the end was because he wanted to make it look like coincidental contact because he was planning on doing the same thing to Reaves if Reaves didn't defend himself. How the hell is that interference? He passed the puck and got hit like a half a second later?! These types of hits happen all throughout the game but along the boards! I guess the NHL is against open ice hitting now. It was a shoulder to shoulder hit just like the Wilson hit on Seney (NJ Devils) player last week. Nobody on the Caps stuck up for Wilson😂
