"What if, besides the blood of the living, you had to eat pounds of their flesh to maintain that thin facade of life - what would you call it? Twice damned?" --Pisha, in Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines.
I always try to be as nice as possible to Pisha, because I kinda like her. And I just recently found out, that you can give her Gimble's arm to munch on. x´D
Personally I'd take any stories about obscure vampire sightings from the time period between 1999 and 2004 with a grain of salt. Between the Week of Nightmares and all other great big bloody apocalyptic goings-on, I think everyone's imaginations ran just a little too wild. I mean even Beckett (who I very much respect and trust) claims that he met and spoke with Caine Himself around that time. Just mad, mad stuff.
Ben Kielar Tots dude, my bro's cousin was part of some paranormal show or something, they were going to do a show at this old hospital, but they all disapeared.
+Alexander Dashit Saw a Brujah fledgling walk in and out... She didn't look too pleased. The Nagaraja I hear, wasn't seen after she walked out... Think it skipped town?
The Nagaraja is easily one of my favorite bloodlines. I used one in my chronicle. I went an off beat route with her by keeping the inherent scary bits intact but off-set the whole thing by giving her a generally upbeat and playful personality. She wound up being one of the player favorites.
It really says a lot that Monique's feeding habits are the most horrifying thing a (SPOILER ALERT) Harbinger of Skulls has ever seen, when you consider the ordeals he's witnessed and endured.
Excellent! Another amazing job. Every time you always do more than just tell the story behind the clan or bloodline, it seems as though you capture the very essence of V:tM and the soul of the WoD.
I don't think I'm being unfair. The Nagaraja embrace those who are usually mortal members of their death cult or nihlistic in the extreme anyway. But, in point of the characters I described in the video, this is just the opinion of the character I'm portraying when doing the video. It's not unfair - it's just what he knows, or chooses to convey.
The Nagarajha are probably the best version of the whole mage becoming vampires.....(necromancers count as mages yeah?). What they did involved no third generation being involved....right? The Giovanni and Tremere where....misguided....
I'm not very radical regarding clans hell I dont consider the Lasombra evil but I cant fathom how not every vampire for out of "humanity" reason or for the masquerade or to considering mortals multiple use, or for the fact they want Gehenna, or just get upset on them just being, did not yet decided that the Nagaraja extermination would be beneficial. - or I'm just Hippocratic evil :D
Wow you covered points of this blood line that I somehow missed in the books. Mite have stopped reading before getting the most I could have out of them you sir are helping to make better story tellers. thank you.
an excellent video, a truly perturbing bloodline captured in gruesome glory by masterful discourse, my commendations to you my fellow scholar of the kindred
Another excellent entry into an excellent series. I know you said you didn't know werewolf well enough to do this, but keeping this going with them and mage traditions would be amazing.
Good stuff. I subscribed to your channel very recently, and I have to say that I've enjoyed everything so far. Your presentation is wonderful, really captivating. I hope you can keep it up. Many thanks!
Interesting bloodline. I really liked your character studies, they help paint the picture of what this bloodline is like. Now I'm curious and have to find out more :P
Ah! Cool, never knew about the Mage connection with the Euthanatos. I got Mage recently and I've been reading and enjoying it. My only Nagaraja experience has been in Vampire: Bloodlines but I liked them. Both them, and the Macellarius from Requiem. I think they'd be difficult to play, but they should show up in many a chronicle!
Well seams to me that is given to them even a path of little more humanity, if they choose to walk on it. With there ability to see how much time is left to someone meet death, they can choose those victims thats already going to dye.
Oh god I forgot about THAT bit of *psyduck*. I was mostly thinking about how it tried to enforce crossovers in a system where starter mages can turn elder vampires into lawn chairs remotely.
By that standard NO vampire could maintain Humanity. Just because blood can be more easily replaced doesn't make drinking it less cannibalistic. There are plenty of ways for a Nagaraja to survive without maiming innocent mortals (eating fresh corpses, feeding on vampires, feeding only on unrepentant criminals, etc.), their clanmates just tells them embrace the grisly side of their dietary needs rather than temper them. Or am I just being too optimistic again?
Could you do a video on the Old Clan Tzimisce? The... I shall use the term bloodline, though they do not think of themselves as such, That the kindred by the name of dracula was a member of? and as a side question, Could a Tzimisce, having studied the discipline of Vicissitude, decide to once again embrace his humanity?
Well given your rather classy manner of speaking, I'd wager that you might be a Ventrue, that would be my first guess. You could very well be a Tremere or Toredor. Perhaps even a Lasombra or Tzmisice antribu, the latter being one who chooses not to alter their own appearance. Of course just based on that logic alone isn't enough to pin you down to one clan or the other.
And my point was that you were being unfair by implying that they all inherently engaged in horrible depravities like the ones you described. But you do raise an excellent point, blood is a lot easier to fool yourself over. I guess I'm just better suited to the Path of Honorable Accord than the Path of Humanity because I'm the kind of guy who is bothered by unfair treatment, but not by the idea of the guilty dying.
I normally play a country gangrel following the Path: of the Beast/ Nature. With the merit: eat food. Mostly coyotes and lone wolves feed of off field mice/ rats and small game vermin. A city gangrel that turns into a street mutt will eats stray cats and rats from alleys' trash binds. Just following instinct. My last game shop 14 years ago mostly ran Sabbat stories. And the Sabbat have their own form of the Path of the Beast. After my gangrel characters frenzy mutated enough, they just start " eating " their victims the same way a wild dog will on a deer. First the neck kill, follow by going for the guts. The worst part maybe was, after I hit rank 6 or 7 on the Path: Beast/ Nature. My characters start jockeying for high pack leadership, and trying to say awake during winter to sleep through the cold require willpower rolls. I played " stare down " with anyone of a given social standing along moving myself to provide cover to the weaker members of my " pack." As a joke play with four groups one night of play. My mutated raccoon, bobcat, husky chimera monster of a gangrel," which he was a real breach of the masquerade," brought a larger nasty smelly looking alley cat dead into Elysium and dropped it at the feet of our party's diplomat. When he was talking to the city's Prince. Then I did the whole house cat purring and rubbing my cheek against his leg, following by rolling over onto my back. The Keeper of Elysium, will she threw a fit. So the next month my character drop dead nasty smelly animal at her place. With going threw her trash cans, well I was part mutated raccoon. That was in the Camarilla games. In the Sabbat, I was just a rage induce monster. Well I also made sure my characters had Dots in Acting. Along with speaking to three person dialog " in character " his Beast, and the scientist, Please watch the movie " The Fly," on how the actor character was showing his lab partner/ girl friend his teeth collection. Every time my characters were Riding the Beast/ Frenzy, more than a few members in my group though my character was Wassailing . That is the best part about gangrels when they frenzy they gain a new animal feature. Most clans can " act " they are going nuts. For gangrel when they go nuts, even Brujah will start backing away. Then if the gangrel has enough dots in Acting and Protean or even Vicissitude. It becomes a hard act not to disbelieve. " The really old and ancient gangrel are not in a blood line in their own right. But they are monsters make no mistake about it. Hundreds or thousands of years fighting werewolfs and dark forest spirit made flesh. Show me a cannibal who can maintain humanity and I'll show you a green dog, as a charming Malkavian once said to me.
This is the best clan lore video to watch whilst eating a Sunday roast...…… DX
this video makes me feel like im a neonate and im being spoken to by an elder vampire
As far as we know there were no antediluvians involved in the creation of the Nagaraja.
I always try to be as nice as possible to Pisha, because I kinda like her. And I just recently found out, that you can give her Gimble's arm to munch on. x´D
Herd rumors of a Nagaraja living in an abandoned hospital in downtown L.A. around the early 2000's
Personally I'd take any stories about obscure vampire sightings from the time period between 1999 and 2004 with a grain of salt. Ben Kielar Tots dude, my bro's cousin was part of some paranormal show or something, they were going to do a show at this old hospital, but they all disapeared.
I also heard about a tremere neonate no fledgeling killed every single member of the LA sabbat. He has also been spotted leaving a hospital

Saw a Brujah fledgling walk in and out...
She didn't look too pleased. The Nagaraja I hear, wasn't seen after she walked out...

I hated that you couldnt find out more about [nagaraja] there

Thank you for saying so! Very kind!
Thank you for those kind words!
Great job with this lesser known bloodline.
They're a fun bloodline to have around.
Another excellent entry into an excellent series. I know you said you didn't know werewolf well enough to do this, but keeping this going with them and mage traditions would be amazing.
Excellent video, I like how you involved the vampire persona more in this one.
The Nagaraja npc in the Bloodlines video game really made you think, what with her insights into undeath.
Indeed. She was a good character.
Thank for your kindness!
My point is that to eat someone you typically have to kill them. You can drink from someone and kid yourself that you're doing them no harm.
awesome, will only watch 6 more times.
Interesting. Just a flavorful mention or were there already plans to merge Necromancy and Obtenebration back then?
Adored this. *thumbs up all the way*
I won't be covering the Gaki, as they were retconned away. Far far away.
Have you played VtM: Bloodlines? Pisha was my first encounter with the Nagaraja and I've found them quite fascinating ever since.
Thank you!
I'm glad to hear it!
It's coming out more and more.
must agree. love watching your vids.
I'm glad you like it!
Well seams to me that is given to them even a path of little more humanity, if they choose to walk on it. With there ability to see how much time is left to someone meet death, they can choose those victims thats already going to dye.
They are lovely.
Oh god I forgot about THAT bit of *psyduck*. I was mostly thinking about how it tried to enforce crossovers in a system where starter mages can turn elder vampires into lawn chairs remotely.
V20 has done well. VTM is going from strength to strength.
He could try, certainly. He'd need a damn good reason.
I may cover the Lhiannan.. I'm not sure.
If my knowledge of those lines ever expands, then sure.
I wish your description of Nagaraja (especially the teeth part) was depicted more in Pisha from Bloodlines.
Woot Woot for the Vitreous Path!
My thanks!
Thanks!
so do they embrace the same as other vamps or do they have to give flesh?
btw you have some very... interesting descriptions of them i must say
That's up to you to decide!
A dangerous path. I remember more than just "some" of that book being the nadir of oWoD.
Indeed... How do the Nagaraja embrace? It's a revolting ritual.
Nagaraja are the best!
You would have to take a guess.
They're not too shabby.
at this revelation might I enquire as nto your affiliation so i might better understand your interpretations of the kindred and their lore?
She was indeed.
Now the Dunsirn are like "sup fam"
I think I've now added it!
It would, yes.
By that standard NO vampire could maintain Humanity. Just because blood can be more easily replaced doesn't make drinking it less cannibalistic. You're close.
You spotted it!
So how many bloodlines are left in oWoD to do for this series, the Ahrimanes?
They always have dominate. It's Auspex, Dominate, Nihlistics or Auspex, Dominate, Necromancy.
Woot indeed!
such a cool intro
They originally appeared in Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand.
Vicissitude being an alien disease for instance.
He would if he could.
I hope that you do!
No no, that one is still official. But some of it was retconned or just ignored.
it is only in the up to date books the clan powers have changed
And now you know!
It's still a social thing (like Brujah thuggery) rather than an inherit thing (like Malkavian madness) but at this point we're just arguing semantics.
I won't be covering them.
Makes you think if there originally was a plan to involve the Tal'Mahe'Ra into the game. I certainly hope not.
I have indeed, on my second channel; thegentinquestion
I never heard of this bloodline...
Yep!
1:11 Sounds like a Tcho-Tcho from Call Of Cthulhu. X-0
Well given your rather classy manner of speaking, I'd wager that you might be a Ventrue, that would be my first guess. You could very well be a Tremere or Toredor. Toredor independent or antitribu?
I find it interesting that you do these video's in character, what clan are you supposed to be?
He is a cappadocian if I'm not mistaken
Cheers!
Oh dear...
Dirty little secrets of the black hand.... origin Euthanatos who turn themselves into vampires.
"The gentleman's guide to vampires" insta-like :)
Ok. My guess about your clan might be a little bit outdated, and propably someone figured it out, but are you Giovanni ?
He feels like Ventrue, or Tremere to me.
+Alexander Dashit
Maybe. Damn it, I wish I knew...
In his guide to be a Prince of a Camarilla city he claimed to be Malkavian
+Alexander Dashit
True... What if he's a Gangrel like Beckett?
+Quinn Cochrane oh shit that could be true. He has that sort of calm that's unsettling...
well how else did you expect one could become a scholar of the Kindred and not simply be a blood-bag?
That game has a few faults, Pisha being one.
And my point was that you were being unfair by implying that they all inherently engaged in horrible depravities like the ones you described. but in some books they have instead of Dominate they have Necromancy
it the dirty secrets of the black hand book
You are!
