Hi! Anthony!! The camping cube & the gazebo aren't really designed for long-term living space. (More like day trips) When it rains, water will come into the ground on the gazebo, even with tarps underneath. The cube is great for day camping. I would recommend an Ozark Trails 10-person tent. Easy to put up, it has a rain fly that can be removed. The height and space is great. It offers all-around coverage from rain and has great ventilation. It also has the little spot to feed your power cords through. I love it. I would keep the gazebo for my kitchen area.

Please Anthony, you may want to invest in a solid foundation for your tent. A solid tarp will protect your blow-up mattress from a puncture and protect your space from moisture. Use your rug on top of that and you've got a home. I want the best for you.

When I was young and out family camping.....we had one structure for cooking and hanging out at the table to play cards or games at night. Another structure for sleeping. Otherwise we were outside boating, fishing, sitting around the fire, and so on. There were a few rainstorms, we had to spend the nights in the cars to sleep. I would say, keep them both. You may like different ones for different camping places. And you can still always sleep in your car and just use the structure for cooking and hanging out space for when you are not cooking and hanging out outside. You may spend a night or two at one campsite where you just campout in the car, cook outside, sleep in the car, and so on.....and don't set up your structures. Keep your options flexible.

Hi Anthony 👋 - Thanks for your honest comparison, we appreciate your helpful product feedback! Keep in mind the E-Z UP Camping Cube is specifically designed to work with authentic E-Z UP brand canopy frames. As you've found, it may be possible to set the Camping Cube up using an off-brand (non-E-Z UP) frame, but the fit, function, and ease of installation will be compromised.
We are always looking to improve our products and will consider your suggestions as we develop future Camping Cube models.
PS: Please be sure to always stake your tent, we don't want you or your campsite to blow away! Take care and thanks again

Anthony, one of the best tent for you to consider is the Gazelle T4 - it's large , easy to setup and take down ( less than 2 minutes by one person), has a floor, ykk zippers, and I know it will hold up to all types of weather.
In the future, just remember to open the windows to have circulation flow so that whichever tent structure you purchase it will remain stable.
And yes it's more expensive... because it works.

But I know some people really like sleeping outside in a tent. Hope you find a flooring option that really works for you.

And it has high ceiling that conforms with the pop up and has a lot more connectors. For four years I put it up in May and did not take it down until late October in the Pacific Northwest. It did great throughout rain, wind and actually snow season. So it’s just a thought if one day you want a little bit more space again.

You can also buy a tarp to put down as a floor, if you are looking for something more permanent as also
noted by Deborah Cargle. As a camper I firmly believe a tarp would be a better option Anthony. In
camping I place one tarp over my 8 person tent to resolve any heavy rain issues, and a tarp just outside the
front of the tent, which is where I keep my sneakers to keep sand/dirt out of the tent. Also noted, neither
of these units are for long term camping. Nice to use for a week-end trip, but you need a real tent for
    longer term camping, including sleeping.

Thanks for the tip, we agree! The Camping Cube is designed to work perfectly with compatible E-Z UP brand canopy frames, such as the E-Z UP Pyramid and Vantage models. Setting up the Camping Cube with a different brand of canopy tent may be possible, but setup will be more difficult and the fit will be imperfect creating uneven tension.

And the tarp is waterproof. Put it inside the Gazelle to make sure the tarp is on top of those flaps on the ground to keep the water out.

Anthony did you ever think of putting the blue canopy that you had over your Van next to the gazelle so that way when you want to be out of the gazelle you can Still have shade. So that way you can be outside but yet have the covering regarding the sun when you're sitting in your chair. So that would be considered your porch area next to your home space. And you can put your lights in everything up So it'll be lit up at night. I really truly enjoy your show!

    Hi Anthony 👋
One way we decided what to keep was how many times we used it, and how frustrating it was to hav, put up, take down, excess storage, etc. You're definitely on the right track.

Thanks for the comparison on both the tent. Ez up and that easy. I'm sure there are some great suggestions in the comment section on more stable tents or better yet check out some of thr other vanlifers that use tents, maybe someone will give you some great suggestions that worked out for them. The blowup mattress looks really comfortable.

Hi Anthony, maybe you should return the EZ up and purchase a larger gazelle with a floor and windows... Just a thought. Enjoy your camping.

nello anthony keeping the smallest camper tent is a wise idea just buy a large tarp from walmart and that way you can fold it up when you are done with it make sure it is larger then your tent

anthony i have many hidden talents outside of being a surgical nurse i’m a seamstress those things that you showed us at the top can be easily added to your blue tent. me myself i would put 4 to 6 on each side it’s an easy fix for a person that can sew.anthony get the heavy duty tarps off amazon along with zip ties for your flooring and to be used to cover the top and extra walls for your tent. order as many as you need for walls and the top and one for the floor so 5 it would be well worth it.

Great video. Ty for sharing. I like the cozy lil Gazelle too. I was going to get the smaller one just for a sitting porch & still sleep in my van. But yours looks like the right size. I have to get my son or husband to help with the pop up. I really dont like them if by myself. Is the Gaxelle lighter weight than the ezup? Also, Is it possible to lower only half of one Gazelle panel in morning? Maybe just get a small proper tent for sleeping & changing clothes, especially since the ezup has a broken bar. Just a thought. I know you'll figure out what you like best.

Keep both, and use one for cooking/dining space and the other for kicking back and sleeping. Or return both and get a real tent. And even with a real tent, you will still want to put a tarp underneath it.
