I personally owned the yoga 11e for 4 years it is performed flawlessly. I use this for IT work. I have touch screen and it folds back to use in tablet mode. Don't know what's wrong with yours. But I've owned three of these machines that I use daily for my company. Wherever you got yours from. You need to take it back. I've never seen one with a hard drive I've always only had the ones with SSD

You have the non-Yoga version which does not have the screen that folds all the way around. Also, the fan error can sometimes be fixed by blowing the fan with compressed air. Otherwise, you have to replace the fan.
Yeah, those are all valid points. I’m going to blow that fan clean. Then I’ll put an SSD in it and 8gb of ram and finally install POP_OS!
I have this (or a similar...) model of laptop and aside from the keyboard not being backlit, I love it. I don't use it much, but I have been thinking about updating to a linux install. One thing that I think is different from mine that you have for yours is I believe the one I have has the RAM and hard drive are soldiered directly to the board and isn't user upgradable.
you must have the 11 yoga. I just tore one of those apart. I was thinking of making a video about it but it had no real story in it.

mine does not turn off the keyboard in tablet mode. any tips on how to troubleshoot this?
I have both the 11e yoga and non yoga models. The Yoga model does flip all the way back and has a touchscreen. I noticed that Lenovo is about to introduce a gen 5 version which has the RAM soldered in. I wish they'd had gone another way, as I enjoy having the ability to upgrade. You're right about swapping Windows out for Linux. I tried a few distros and really think Mint is paired perfectly for these laptops. Where the performance suffers is if you need a large amount of encryption early, like opening up Bitwarden and Protonmail. I didn't like the performance I got from Kali Linux, I was hoping it would be a little spunkier, but I only tested with 4gb, I got 8gb coming, and will try it again. I'd like to have a really portable Kali machine.
I just purchased that Yoga and it's on its way. The price is now $249.00 USD.

@@lawrencemadu2953 I would call it acceptable, not optimal. You can't beat the form factor for something to travel with.

I wouldn’t suggest it. A friend of mine uses a HP Elitebook 8740 for his Mitsubishi. You’ll need a SSD and a good battery tho

yes, but it would require copius amounts of wallpaper glue and I have to wait until I goto Wallpaper town

That’s a good price but it’s a very slow machine. You’d be better off buying a used a Thinkpad x250 for $350 the 11e is underpowered.
