Marking the end point of the stairs on the main tree: 3:56
Starting the base of the stairs with a strip of foil 4:08
    Forming steps 6:19

Cutting some away to adjust the size 9:26
Encasing the steps with more tree 10:01
    Adding paper towel 12:11

My first time on your work, today at 10.07 13th May 2020. I'm a retired engineer, living on the Isle of Wight in the U.K. "Grandad, can you make me a pixie house ?" I was going to use a tree stump and cut it around a bit, but when I saw your effort here I was left dumb struck. You are absolutely brilliant using those everyday materials that ended up a work of art. Many thanks for your effort, I'm completely inspired. Pete, on the Isle of Wight.

Pete, did you end up making an outdoor fairy house? I love these ideas and I think the tin foil would make the house durable. I’m concerned about the weather though and wonder if coating the finished product with polyurethane would be enough. I’ve seen seen clay being used outdoors again be coated with polyurethane.

thank you! I used to upload my miniature tutorials to my other yt channel (for crochet toys) then in April of 2016 I decided to start this channel and keep the crafts separate. But I got sick in August 2016 and battled auto immune until last year when they found a treatment to work for me. I've had a hard time getting videos made in the last 2-3 yrs due to my struggles and sometimes this channel gets neglected for long periods of time. I'm pretty pleased to see the number of subs I've gotten so far. If I can keep a consistent upload then the sub number will go up. It needs some work but I'll get there! And thank you so much, that really means a lot.

I too want to create this outdoors on a living tree. I wonder if white Gorilla Glue in place of white glue would work. Apparently you can add water to white gorilla glue to water it down without affecting it's waterproof quality once dry. Although, I've seen mixed comments on this. If it works, I would think you would need to cover every inch of the tape covering the foil for waterproofing. Then use outdoor acrylic paints. I may build a small, test tree trunk and see how it weathers. I will write up and submit my test results once I've built and weather-tested my tree trunk.

I hope your health is steadily improving, many of us know what it's like to struggle for years with a chronic condition. Be sure to ventilate thoroughly when using a hot glue gun, the fumes are far more toxic than people realize. A fan by an open window would not be too much. Better yet, take the project outside.

Those of you who think that gnomes are the stuff of fantasy may want to read my seven page article titled, 'I Was Blinded By a Gnome'.
This occurred to me on July of 2017, and Lon Strickler of Phantoms and Monsters, was kind enough to post it on his site.
As a result of my encounter i now collect unique Garden Gnome Statuettes, and am considering creating a Gnome Garden which will include a Gnome Stump Home.
Thank you for posting this video!
