This song and Don’t You Wanna Be Mine bring out emotions in me that are hard to explain. I am going to see Trinere in May because if what her songs do for me, and I’d go see Denise Lopez in a second if she was performing.
I recorded the debut of this song in a cassette from the American top 40 of August 1988 with Casey Kasem! Beautiful year and even more beautiful 88’s music!! 😁
Arguably the single greatest Freestyle vocal performance of all time. She is on fire and does this magnificent, epic tune full justice. "I don't want to hear you say, I don't want to hear you say..."
This is a hot jam! This is a great classic Freestyle song! This is a real Freestyle music song! This song is a great song! Denise Lopez is still very popular in the Freestyle Dance music club scene here in the United States and also around the world. She is a truly all time great music artist that still loved by her hundreds of thousands of Freestyle music fans worldwide! This song is one of her best hits. She is an all time great music artist and her music stood the test of time. This is great quality music right here and that's why it is still popular with so many music fans many years after it was released.
Someone give Denise Lopez the chance to record at least one dance demo so maybe a record company might give her a chance to record again. She was awesome, what a shame we don't hear more from her!
Yes! The only thing I was able to find out is that she designs jewelry. I would love to see her designs (since I'm an artist myself). I'm sure her jewelry is beautiful.
Freestyle never goes out of style for me...Amazing song, I remember it from a video tv show here in Colombia by 86. I love it and I love freestyle forever ...
hey this guy in the video is an actor. This is where he got his start. What ever happened to Denise Lopez, I liked her. I used to love this song... probably sing spanish music now.
I have to say she had the most amazing voice. I saw her perform this live around '88 and she sounded just like this on an open mic. I totally expected her to be lip syncing it, but when she started adlibbing personal comments and a couple a F bombs to the audience during the song there was no doubt it was really her.
Denise's voice reminds me of another freestyle singer in the early 90s named Stacy Earl. Listen to Stacy's song "Love Me All Up" and you can tell that is eerily similar to Denise Lopez's voice. I swear, I thought that was the same artist with an alias name. But I am more likely wrong!
Well. 2020 eyes to see. Forgive em' 70 x 7. Turn from darkness and evil Jezebel. Focus on the light. Follow Jesus! Walk with the Lord daily. The love walk. :)
I once had this guy ask for my autograph, it was during the time she released her music, because he thought I was her. Yes I had dark curly hair and I was much thinner back then and we share the same name but I still have to laugh when I think about how insistent he was.
I don't remember this song honestly. This didn't get any play in Seattle back then. This song sounds like it probably got lots of play in California though.
@MegaTyler98 Shes done a couple on her albums (well, just the 2 and the first one is well worth tracking down) but you should listen to I want You 2 Know which is on YouYube. Its from the Cool As Ice soundtrack so not on the albums.
My favor arist.amazing voice.l hope she make anew son right dennise .by MonicaRamos guzman 💯❤️💯 ❤️💯 ❤️.like mama say you the best of the best .Salinas in the house jaaaaa.
hope someday l see you again .we sing together my favor song your fan Monica Ramos Guzman your fan .you my number one .this is it's my favor song.monica
Nope, sorry...she never went on to sing Latin music, she just left the industry many, many years ago. Sad though, she was one of the few with REAL talent, meaning a truly great voice.
Anyone know the truth behind this song. I remember hearing rumors that it was written by the singer in response to finding out her boyfriend was bisexual and messing around with guys on the side. If you read into the lyrics you can sorta see that "You can run away from me, but you'll never run away from you' could refer to his sexual identity and being on the "DownLow"
Denise Lopez Needs to make a comeback
This song was what got me into Freestyle.
Denise Lopez is totally marvelous and so is this song.
This whole album is a treasure, but this song is especially a supernova. Her vocals, supreme.
+Jared Adler Agree! AWESOME album, and supreme vocals. VERY underrated....

Beautiful song. Still can't get over it. I have both of her albums, and wow, she is an amazing singer. I wish I knew what she is up to now.
+Chasity Colón I agree! Denise Lopez should make a comeback!

The date is 1992. Jennifer Lynn watches this video the same night she attends the premiere of Single White Female. She hatches a plan...
