You can only be downed once, “Withstand” counts as a revive, so normally the M45 MEUSOC can reset, however you were already dropped (By Yourself) so it killed you instead
I'm fairly certain that he knows there's a limit on revives (frost traps notwithstanding). It was more to the point that the Ash player could have just put her gun on semi-auto, as it deals less damage than the pistol, as in, there was no reason to switch to the pistol other than habit.
