Let me say this: You two are amazing and i watch every video that you put out. The first impression you gave on CoT are on point, love your enthusiasm and thoughts and how you put them.
Still jealous after seeing the first impressions? ;) We ordered from Germany, wanted to be able to get a video out as fast as possible, as that is getting harder and harder, especially this year, with no cons! Hope you'll like it more than I did!
I really liked the video. I do think you both undervalued the workers. Have 2 of them and it doesn't matter what cards you have. Have 1 of them and you can do any placing with just 1 card.
Bonfire is on it's way, and it looks amazing! I got a decent impression for it when Sunniva played on Gaming Rules!, and I cannot wait to play a physical copy!
Love you guys ;). The problem I have with this game after watching this is that the scoring is a snowball. You can see the winner in round 2 and there's almost no point in playing round 3 it seems. You know you've lost as there's no interaction that would allow you to catch up.
Glad you are enjoying the videos :D I haven't gotten around to play this again after our first try, but hopefully we'll do so soon. I don't think I'll fall in love, but I will at least know what I'm in for!
Thank you! We do try to explain the actions when we do them, so that you at least can follow along, but I would always suggest reading rulebooks, so that you won’t do anything wrong because of us 😂
Half way through and I already feel like there's got to be a pretty optimized strategy/ action/ bonus action order to this. Fun little puzzle ☺️ PAPYRUS!!!
Yeah, I agree! It’s probably gonna be different depending on what tiles comes out! We will play it more, but it’s not high on the «want to play list» right now 🤣
Thanks for this! I think Bonfire is going to be the Feld game for me this year. I heard Vital Lacerda on a podcast say he was enjoying playing Bonfire. I will skip this one.
You two are too cute. Just found your channel. I love your humor and facial expressions. I want to get this game when it comes to the U.S. Thanks for showing us how it plays. I am going to subscribe to your channel. Keep up the great work.
Haha - don't you hate it when the scoring track only shows every '5'? Makes adding high scores together take just that much longer! Funny how there is always one in the relationship that likes things neat and tidy but the other doesn't care. I thought I was the 'Johannes' in that I always research new games and learn the rules to teach my wife, and she never gets the names for things correct, but now I have some Sunniva in me because I'm also the one who makes sure everything is neatly set up and the correct way round 🤣 But as with you guys... my wife always seems to win :/ Is there no final scoring? I think it seems ok, but nothing amazing (based on Feld's great games). It looks fun though, and if it's cheap I might pick it up. Not sure it requires such a big box though.
I've played most of Feld's greatest hits and personally I feel Carpe Diem is his best design. I've also heard really good things about what the expansion does for Merlin.
Jealous you have that already. It seems to be as light/er than carpe diem. Pity there's more randomness like in cough cough delphi...😇😇 It does look to play very fast to be another decent gamer filler.
@@sunnivavarjord yes, I'm obsessed with that game! i have said it 200 times that it was robbed of the spiele! I mostly play at 2 though so I will probably get this anyways. But if you dont' end up liking this I will exchange it for a leftover promo of one of your favorite Feld games ;)
@@BoardGamingRamblings I know right? that scoring premise with the cards at the end of each round is brilliant! it makes that game so tactical. It's top 5 Feld for me, even if I'm fully aware it's one of his lightest designs to date.
This is a stepping stone toward Castles of Burgundy. Good for families!

Wow, thank you Martin, that means a lot! So happy to have you here 🥳
Love y'alls content... watching this a second time, as I found this on sale and am considering getting it.
Thank you for the kind words! 😁
So jealous that you two have this one! We are waiting for it to release here

I’m really liking your video camera set up!
Glad to hear that, Jenwei! We are pretty happy with it (finally), and it’s loads of fun to start doing more play througs!

We need to play more! Thanks for the comment 🤩
Very excited for this and Bonfire. Plus the latest Kickstarter. It's a Feld kind of year.

@@BoardGamingRamblings I think I could teach this game after your playthrough, even without reading the rules. Excellent job ;).

Did you catch that at 3:06? ....keeping my eye on Johannes.
Thanks for your impressions!
Thank you! 😁

What Sunniva said! Thank you! Glad to have you onboard :D
where do you rank Bonfire in the list of your favorite Felds? I'm dying to know :)
You'll know as soon as we have played it! :D Sunniva did play a game, but I'm pretty sure she wants to play a physical copy before saying anything!
Johannes is onto something! 😉
Hehe, thank you! Sometimes I can do something right :P
as you said, i do enjoy lighter games as well, but this one is really boring, imo 😝
very fair review and opinion, I agree 100% based on what I saw ;)
What a scoop. Well done.
Thank you! Glad you liked it :D

Nik i beat you too. Give me some credit 😇 Hi ✋✋✋✋🙃
Iam very big fan I see more time your video bcz very nice video 🎥and neet 🖼️so i like to 👀iam 🇮🇳I love ❤😊ya both are you😊
What??!!! How did you get this mysterious game so fast???
We ordered it from Germany! I think it’s mostly available there so far!
Forgot end game points on leftover stuff
Yes, you are right! I remembered right up till the end, and then forgot! Sorry!
Thanks for the play through. Saved me $$
The german (original?) rules state that there is a full round after the game end is triggered.
Aha! Did I miss it, or is there a mistake in the english rules?
@@BoardGamingRamblings It seems there are errors in the english rules, there are several threads on BGG about that.
Thanks for pointing it out, I’ll check that out!
Well. Now it’s time to say goodbye to feld. Because Merlin, and this and....let’s be honest. It’s not the Stefan feld he used to be!!!
Haha, there are enough good ones to outshine the bads! Just waiting for Bonfire now 🤩

Feels a lot lighter than Carpe Diem - the scoring in Carpe Diem is super tight and ingeresting!
Hahahaha 😂 Yeah, I enjoy Carpe Diem lots and lots more so far! The card mechanism there is very tight and amazing!
