Best DORMS To Stay In As A FRESHMAN At LIBERTY UNIVERSITY

What’s up fellas a felleretes! I’m Graham and in this video I’m going to do my best to break down what each dorm is like at Liberty so you can know which one is the best for you. While I am a student on campus, I haven’t stayed at all the different dorms so most of the descriptions of dorms I haven’t stayed at is anecdotal evidence from friends or general information once you are on campus.
When you do financial check in, you are presented with several tiers of housing to choose from: the circle, the hill, the quads, commons, east, and if you’re female, south tower. They all have their advantages and disadvantages so i’ll do my best to break those down. But no matter where you end up on campus, you can make it work. And I pretty much chose at random because I didn’t know the difference and ended up at a great spot, so don’t worry about it too much.
There’s a lot of options and each one can be great. I personally like the community and setup of the hill and circle and hope if LIberty builds more dorms, they will be similar to those. Commons is certainly nicer, but there’s already three of them. Liberty doesn’t need a commons 4. But in all seriousness, wherever you end up you can make it work. People are what make the dorms great and wherever you end up, you’ll have at least a few people you’ll connect with. And if you don’t get where you want at first? Well you can change halfway through a semester if a room opens up. No matter where you end up or what is open when you register, it will work out. All the dorms are valid options and there’s not one that’s definitively better for every person. So hopefully this video helps you understand the dorms a little better and the differences between them. I had no clue when I first arrived, and those are some of things I wish I’d known. My son really wanted in the Circle, but couldn’t get in there so chose East. Not crazy about that, but hopefully it’ll work. How does it work in general for getting roommates? The process was a bit confusing. Will he be placed with a another freshman? On the portal some rooms had names, but some didn’t. Any advice as he goes through the process?

The roommate process is definitely the least refined part of signing up for housing at Liberty. Roommate groups are specifically just people who want to room together, but it doesn't mean they are in the same room when they do financial check in. It is a bit complicated, but the roommate finder is pretty accurate with matching people with similar habits and lifestyles. If you find a solid match, it might be best to email the person using their liberty email and find a room together since joining the roommate group alone doesn't guarantee a room. It is a little complicated and I'm still not completely sure how I ended up with my freshman roommates the way I did. Also, one last thing is if he really wants to be on the circle, if you just keep your eyes open, a room will probably open up within the first month or two. That's how it worked for one of my friends that started out at East. Hope that helps!

Not at the moment - most people use the bike rack outside of the dorm
