- Finally got around to filming a dorm tour! These videos were super helpful when I was choosing between schools, so hope this video helps you out! I live in a single room, suite style at UCLA Hedrick Summit. There are 5 singles in each wing of a suite, and we share 1 bathroom. In this video I give you a tour of my room, the shared bathroom, Hedrick Summit/my floor, and tell you why I chose a single room!

Do you know if they prioritize my room type choices over my LLC choices?
For context, I put singles at the top of my list, doubles next, and triples last. However, I also applied for the transfer LLC. I know the transfer LLC is only doubles and triples. Will this ruin my chance of getting a single? I would only like to be put in an LLC if singles are not available.

yes the older you are the more priority you have!
Is it possible to get a single room dorm for freshman?
Whoaaaa how did you get a single room as a freshman???? I thought freshmen could only get double or triple rooms (those are the only options I see on the housing application too). Please let me know how!! Having a single room is a dealbreaker for me when choosing a college.
I originally was in a triple but then there was a single room that opened up so I moved into it about a month after school started! I'm sure that if you ask the housing department they can keep you updated if any single rooms open up!
@@lifeofmeili Nice! I had asked the housing department if I could get a single and they said "First year students are only able to select double or triple occupancy rooms." So should I just reply asking if they can keep me updated if any single rooms open up? Or do you think I should just get a single off-campus apartment instead? I committed to UCLA yesterday

@@sparkle0859 yes I would ask them to keep you updated if a single room opens up! And it depends on your preferences if you want to live in the dorms or an off-campus apartment, but I think living in the dorms as a freshman is so fun and a great way to meet people!
I hope I get a single room cause I would honestly be scared if I have to live with people cause I get scared getting to know new people or I hope to get a room with my friend (probably not)

Where do you make Food ? You didn’t show The kitchen !?
there isn't a kitchen--but you can have a microwave + fridge in your room!
And what about food? U cook or there is a cafeteria?

How did you get a single dorm
Does ucla have classes for Vets or cosmetology? And is it possible to just go there for dance/ gymnastics?
Hey Girl Hey i know I’m not her, but I’ll answer your question!:) First of all I think you can study to be a vet or something like that, and second of all they have a gymnastics team, you have to study there if you want to be on it. You can’t really be on a dance team because they don’t have one but you can study dance. Hope this helped!c:
UCLA has cosmology classes, i.e., astronomy, but not cosmetology.
Do you have an option of one that’s more like an apartment? Like a studio? To where they have the own bathrooms in them?

In state tuition is 13k a year and out of state is 42k a year

Can you keep your own car there.?
@@meenaroy93 you can bring your car if you want, but most people living in the dorms don't. I usually use Uber or Lyft! Also, Westwood has plenty of stores/grocery stores nearby, which is within walking distance.

CONGRATS that's so exciting! and yes, I am a freshman! It's typically hard to get them right at the beginning of the school year, though. I was originally in a private triple plaza, but I applied to move to a single room halfway through fall quarter. It took a while but one opened up and I was able to move into it!

I was originally assigned a triple plaza room and lived there for a couple months, then heard that a single opened up so I moved! If you ask the residential life staff for single room openings they can keep you updated!
what room is it called when you share with just one roommate just one room
one room + one roommate is called a double!
