I mastered what is called transcendental meditation without paying for a mantra. One clears the mind of all thought and says a three-syllable nonsense word over and over. No thought may be allowed to enter but must be gently escorted out of what the mind thinks of, which is nothing. It's hard to learn but I have learned that the mind craves it and it becomes very easy. One fears that the brain will forget everything, but it doesn't. Thoughts come back in order of importance, not the constant brain noise. This explanation is so inadequate. Sorry. 58:58 is the first step. Think like a pet.

We have "petting zoos" at fairs in the U.S. I love them although I was butted by a goat that my girlfriend thought was hilarious. Animals have minds uncomplicated by thoughts of the future or much of the past. This is the mind of one during transcendental meditation. I know things, trust me on this one.

To Roman: 7 years ago, I was hit by a car while crossing the street. The guy was on his cell phone and didn't see me in the crosswalk as he sped through the intersection. Both my legs were so damaged that the doctors gave me only 50% chance of ever walking again. It took me 9 months just to get into a wheelchair. I wore braces on both legs for 5 years, but I was determined to walk again and now I can walk very well. I also had trauma to my brain. I would be talking and suddenly my mind would go blank and I couldn't remember what I had just been saying, or I would be doing something and in my mind it was like suddenly looking at a blank page and I couldn't remember what I had just been doing. It took 3 years for my brain to heal. The body heals in its own time, but if you stay positive, your body will respond and you will be amazed how well you can heal (despite what some doctors may say). Never give up! While you live and breathe, there is always hope. I will keep you in my prayers. Slava Ukraini! Heroiam slava!

Nekofemme - great story - my bro broke his back T12 in '80. He spent 30 years in his chair. He was amazing and life was certainly more challenging and difficult. He surrounded himself with good people and there was very little he could. His favorite was camping, building a fire and sleeping in a tent. So glad you are doing so well. ❤
@@AstroGremlinAmerican My brother did everything available back in the day long leg braces, standing table. They have had many so many advances since then. Our bodies were not meant to be impacted by anything. Truly, I hope going forward gets easier. ❤️

Mind you, my legs will never be the same - I can't run or kneel or jump or dance, and if I fall down (and I have a few times), I need help to get back up. Still I consider myself fortunate - I lived. I constantly hear about people being killed by hit-and-run drivers. The guy that hit me tried to run but the intersection had cameras. The whole thing was caught on film which was a blessing for me as the guy tried to lie his way out of it.
I can always ask many how not to...same goes with surviving people of Omagh , Enniskillen, too may too mention...I,m with Bo no from U2..sometimes people don't realise what terrorism is...what would I know I,m from Ireland...

Thank you for this stream 😎 Roman was clearly the dominant character of the stream, I felt he was able to convincingly convey the integrity and sovereignty of his personality, but also some of his feelings as a young person in the face of the terrible experience in the situation into which he was unexpectedly torn. I think we in Europe at least have forgotten a lot of what the generations before us had to go through during the terrible wars of the 20th century for the people of that time, especially when they were torn into situations similar to Roman's by an aggressor. My grandfather, who died peacefully at a very old age, was a participant in the First World War (!) as a very young man in a similar situation to Roman. However, he never reported on his experiences, not even to his son, my father. I always remember my grandfather as a child as a very quiet person with a quiet authority. Roman also exudes this quiet authority. It only remains for me to thank Roman for what he has done for his country, which we will hopefully soon be able to welcome into our midst as Europeans, but also for all free people in the world! Ultimately, we are all affected by this terrible "Русски мир", which symbolises the evil in this world every day! From Europe 🇪🇺with love ❤️ and Slava Ukraini !🇺🇦

I remember seeing a video of Roman standing in a trench under fire smiling & talking about how he would like to study philosophy. I'm glad he came through & I hope for now that he doesn't go back to combat yet but instead help train and pass on combat lessons he learned to new recruits. There is a big important need for that. Something the orcs don't seem to understand or care about.

Thank you Starsky Rick and Roman for the stream 💙. When I was a young girl I was passenger on a motorcycle. The guy driving the bike went down a one way street the wrong way. When we got to a main thorough street, he didn't stop. And of course, I only had a plastic electrician hat on tied with a string. In Miami Beach Florida is where this happened. Needless to say when we venture out into traffic, a five lane busy with cars and traffic. We were instantly hit. My stupid helmet came off, and I went flying through the air across the lanes and was found on the other side of all the traffic. I was in the hospital for 6 weeks. I lost my sense of smell, my leg was messed up, broken ankle and stitches in between my toes! On top of that I had no memory! It took so much work to heal. To this day I have a terrible memory. And no sense of smell. I hope you get to read this Roman, because you will heal. It takes time. Thank you Starsky for having Roman and Rick on today! You're all heroes 💙

Notice how Roman mentioned meditation. Recommended. It clears the mind of noise and unimportant thoughts and songs. I learned to do it, and it's hard to make one's mind blank, just hearing the repetition of the mantra. It has nothing to do with religion. It is an ability of the mind to clean itself for a time, and then important ideas return. I feel so silly trying to explain it.

The animals helping with ptsd is something I wish I could volunteer with. I don't think I can get to Ukraine tho. I have no money or way to support myself there. Ever since mom read the Hiding Place when I was 11 i had this sort of desire to have a refuge for people who have gone thru horrible things... (like Corrie had at the end of the book). I also wanted to have a camp with animals (like mom had day camps w her job). And a farm. Lately they have coalesced and someday I would like to have a place like that. Actual rescue animals who help ppl with PTSD etc. I really want to help Ukrainians somehow but I really have no money to give at the moment (I have barely money for Christmas gifts this year). I have to figure out a way to get more money ASAP. I want to help and do all I can for Ukraine but rn all I can do is talk about it to ppl. Lately seems to fall on deaf ears. 😞 seems like I'm the only one I know who cares about it (except for actual Ukrainians I see online) I know there are more but. I'm discouraged and wish i could do more. Perhaps I just need more determination or. All I can do is small things.... (only some are equipped to do amazing things....)
I have had the honor of hosting two Ukrainian families. We did not take care of them. They took care of us. You are a fine people, and I want you to have your days. I will continue to write my American legislators to support you, and increasingly so. It is so good to see Roman. I often wonder about him, as so many Ukrainians must wonder about those they know who have been fighting. Fight the good fight. Because you are truly in the right.

I would be talking and suddenly my mind would go blank and I couldn't remember what I had just been saying, or I would be doing something and in my mind it was like suddenly looking at a blank page and I couldn't remember what I had just been doing. It took 3 years for my brain to heal. The body heals in its own time, but if you stay positive, your body will respond and you will be amazed how well you can heal (despite what some doctors may say). Never give up! While you live and breathe, there is always hope. I will keep you in my prayers. Slava Ukraini! Heroiam slava!
30:09 I notice that your question was answered first. Thank you for your encouraging personal story. Cells of the nervous system heal slowly but they do heal and have what is called "neural plasticity," once thought impossible.
Nekofemme - great story - my bro broke his back T12 in '80. He spent 30 years in his chair. He was amazing and life was certainly more challenging and difficult. He surrounded himself with good people and there was very little he could. His favorite was camping, building a fire and sleeping in a tent. So glad you are doing so well. ❤

My brother did everything available back in the day long leg braces, standing table. They have had many so many advances since then. Our bodies were not meant to be impacted by anything. Truly, I hope going forward gets easier. ❤️

Mind you, my legs will never be the same - I can't run or kneel or jump or dance, and if I fall down (and I have a few times), I need help to get back up. Still I consider myself fortunate - I lived. I constantly hear about people being killed by hit-and-run drivers. The guy that hit me tried to run but the intersection had cameras. The whole thing was caught on film which was a blessing for me as the guy tried to lie his way out of it.

Roman was clearly the dominant character of the stream, I felt he was able to convincingly convey the integrity and sovereignty of his personality, but also some of his feelings as a young person in the face of the terrible experience in the situation into which he was unexpectedly torn.
I think we in Europe at least have forgotten a lot of what the generations before us had to go through during the terrible wars of the 20th century for the people of that time, especially when they were torn into situations similar to Roman's by an aggressor.
My grandfather, who died peacefully at a very old age, was a participant in the First World War (!) as a very young man in a similar situation to Roman. However, he never reported on his experiences, not even to his son, my father. I always remember my grandfather as a child as a very quiet person with a quiet authority. Roman also exudes this quiet authority.
It only remains for me to thank Roman for what he has done for his country, which we will hopefully soon be able to welcome into our midst as Europeans, but also for all free people in the world! Ultimately, we are all affected by this terrible "Русски мир", which symbolises the evil in this world every day!

I remember seeing a video of Roman standing in a trench under fire smiling & talking about how he would like to study philosophy. I'm glad he came through & I hope for now that he doesn't go back to combat yet but instead help train and pass on combat lessons he learned to new recruits. There is a big important need for that. Something the orcs don't seem to understand or care about.

Thank you Starsky Rick and Roman for the stream 💙. When I was a young girl I was passenger on a motorcycle. The guy driving the bike went down a one way street the wrong way. When we got to a main thorough street, he didn't stop. And of course, I only had a plastic electrician hat on tied with a string. In Miami Beach Florida is where this happened. Needless to say when we venture out into traffic, a five lane busy with cars and traffic. We were instantly hit. My stupid helmet came off, and I went flying through the air across the lanes and was found on the other side of all the traffic. I was in the hospital for 6 weeks. I lost my sense of smell, my leg was messed up, broken ankle and stitches in between my toes! On top of that I had no memory! It took so much work to heal. To this day I have a terrible memory. And no sense of smell. I hope you get to read this Roman, because you will heal. It takes time. Thank you Starsky for having Roman and Rick on today! You're all heroes 💙

Notice how Roman mentioned meditation. Recommended. It clears the mind of noise and unimportant thoughts and songs. I learned to do it, and it's hard to make one's mind blank, just hearing the repetition of the mantra. It has nothing to do with religion. It is an ability of the mind to clean itself for a time, and then important ideas return. I feel so silly trying to explain it.

The animals helping with ptsd is something I wish I could volunteer with. I don't think I can get to Ukraine tho. I have no money or way to support myself there. Ever since mom read the Hiding Place when I was 11 i had this sort of desire to have a refuge for people who have gone thru horrible things... (like Corrie had at the end of the book). I also wanted to have a camp with animals (like mom had day camps w her job). And a farm. Lately they have coalesced and someday I would like to have a place like that. Actual rescue animals who help ppl with PTSD etc. I really want to help Ukrainians somehow but I really have no money to give at the moment (I have barely money for Christmas gifts this year). I have to figure out a way to get more money ASAP. I want to help and do all I can for Ukraine but rn all I can do is talk about it to ppl. Lately seems to fall on deaf ears. 😞 seems like I'm the only one I know who cares about it (except for actual Ukrainians I see online) I know there are more but. I'm discouraged and wish i could do more. Perhaps I just need more determination or. All I can do is small things.... (only some are equipped to do amazing things....)
I have had the honor of hosting two Ukrainian families. We did not take care of them. They took care of us. You are a fine people, and I want you to have your days. I will continue to write my American legislators to support you, and increasingly so. It is so good to see Roman. I often wonder about him, as so many Ukrainians must wonder about those they know who have been fighting. Fight the good fight. Because you are truly in the right.
