    Replacement costs on the ceramic brakes are very costly!! Think a good option would be the new surface coated brake option. It's got huge 6 pistons in front and 4 piton in the rear. It's amazing and I know because I've got them on my Cayenne and when driven hard they really bite and haul the car down quickly! Great video and keep the Porsche content coming our way!

      The surface coated brakes aren’t available as an option on the GTS. But I’m sure the standard steels are more than up to the job without opting for the ridiculous price of PCCB’s.

    I struggled over this, RS6, & Mercedes. Decided on the Porsche Panamera 4S e-hybrid Sport Turismo in papaya metallic and cohiba brown interior. The mileage and hybrid makes me feel good - like I am at least doing something for the environment vs. the V8. Plus the hybrid also came with a $7500 rebate from Porsche too! Not to mention getting free hov lanes in several places and up-front parking in several retailers / shopping centers to plug in. I pick it up next week at the Porsche experience center in Atlanta!

    Beautifull car, especially in ST version. Only thing I would like is that V8 engine has a bit more power, maybe around 510-520 HP, considering that Turbo with 550 HP is no more. I know that 4S Hybrid is kind of replacement for the Turbo with its 550 HP, but it's is lot heavier and doesn't have a V8.

      "...The V8 engine in the new Panamera GTS models exhibits an incredible degree of agility, even at the higher end of the rev and power range. At the same time, the eight-cylinder unit is able to deliver maximum torque at low speeds. These drive characteristics are due primarily to the biturbo charging technology in the central turbo layout. Carefully designed twin-scroll turbochargers supply compressed air to the V8’s combustion chambers. The two turbines rotate in opposite directions and deliver maximum torque, even at the lowest rev levels. ..."

    Good review. But I ordered the ‘22 Panamera 4S E-Hybrid ($150k optioned). I’ll take the 552hp of the 4SEH with virtually no turbo lag (thanks to the electric motor) and 0-60 of 3.5 (in reality 3.2 per Motorweek’s road test) over the weaker (473hp) and slower (3.9 0-60) GTS, even if the 4SEH (sedan) comes with a side of 443 lbs (not 512) extra weight.

Let's say that the enormous price difference were equalized between the two cars, would you still take the GTS over the Turbo S? Need your advice. I have a MY17 Macan S as daily driver and I just don't love it (no air suspension, no sports exhaust, no chronos package). Drove my friend's MY 23 Macan GTS and it was a BEAST!! I have test driven Panamera Turbo with V8 550HP and it did not blow my socks off but it was fast, I just wish the sports exhaust was louder and car felt more like a rocket like say the sensation of a Boxster GTS in Sports Plus with peddle to the floor. What is your opinion on a daily driver, go for a 2017-present Panamera GTS, Turbo or stick with a Macan Turbo 20-21 or a 22-Present Macan GTS? I need room for tennis gear so a 2 door car won't work for me. Mostly highway driving for me. I do not want to do a 2 car method, just looking for a one and done car that is fun, fast and can haul my stuff.

      The key to any Porsche is to ALWAYS check the boxes for ALL chassis control options. In the Macan, they are a game changer. As for your question, I would do a V8 Panamera. Up to you which one based on budget and desired equipment.

      @mdjak3686 3 года назад +1

      I owned a 2019 Panamera 4. Granted, not the GTS, not the 4S, unfortunately. It was a dog. Compared to two Macan Turbos I owned, it was slow, did not handle better, had very intrusive nannies also. I’ve owned a 2019 and 2020 911, loved them both. Decided to get “practical” and for about $115k got a V8 202q Cayenne GTS. Traded a 2020 M5. In comparison, it doesn’t feel very fast, but 600 hp to 450 hp. However, the Cayenne GTS is a special vehicle. The exhaust sound is to die for, it’s fast enough, tunable if you want more, and comes with exactly what you need standard.

      @@TuvingtonD Neither. My 2019 911T had RAS and it made a big difference. I had a 911 C4 before that and it was my first 911. The rear felt "heavy" and so when I got the T with RAS I was able to tell a very big difference. I bought my current Cayenne GTS as a lot/dealer car and so didn't order it. I probably would have ordered RAS but not PDCC. I'm not saying that also wouldn't be worthwhile, but the only time I tried it was in a Panamera on "follow the leader" laps at Lime Rock Raceway in Connecticut and I couldn't tell a difference. I'm obviously no pro and so others may be able to tell. I did track my 911T 11 times on various tracks and loved it. The other thing I would like to have is the adaptive cruise. I don't use cruise much but my wife drives it more than I do. I drive my Raptor. She loves cruise and misses the adaptive cruise as we had it on my M5 and her former Lexus. As I'm sure you know, the more you add, as in PDCC, RAS, on and on, before you know it you are over $150k. Mine stickered for about $122 and I paid $113. And that was before the semiconductor shortage reared its ugly head and inventory dropped to an all time low.

    I can answer that carbon ceramic brake option. At 4500 lbs and sub 4 second to 60 and well north of a 150 mph without them is fine but if you’re going to even street drive it hard ( who’s not and you are in the video) you’ll blow through several sets of Porsche steel brakes in a very short period of time which is just shy of the cost of carbon ceramics( Porsche brakes ain’t cheap). I made this mistake already, not with the Panamera but roughly the same weight and performance and I blew through 3 sets of steels in know time flat. If you’re going to drive Ms. Daisy all the time then steel brakes will be fine but again, who buys a Porsche to do that.
