- Hello guys,
Today I will show you how to repair the Nespresso Citiz without changing the brewing head . There are other videos on youtube on how to repair this machine but there is no need to change the entire brewing head.
Worked great on a Magimix Citiz, just had to pry the coffee spout off before prying the sides free.
Thank you so much! I've just disassembled, cleaned and reassembled my CitiZ (Nespresso D110) with your help. My machine is a bit different from the one you show in the video, but sufficiently similar for me to do it.
The machine is now 13 years old and appears to be working like new.
Thank you for the instructions and the very detailed video. With this help I was able to repair my CitiZ which was clogged - basically only a cleaning was needed on the plate with the small holes. It is a shame on DeLonghi, that this easy cleaning needs a disassembly for what the equipment is not designed. Repair instead of replace, produce less waste!
Thank you! I also recommend zip tying the end of the tubing that connects to the pump. I think the vibration of the machine eventually knocked it off and water was pooling under the machine.
What is the name of the screwdriver you used to unscrew those egg-shaped screws on the lower part?
Great video and very helpful. But misses the KEY o piece of info right the beginning….What side are the “oval” screws and how do you getthem off?
Same here
Coffee machine repair tool key of some sort. I'm not sure which one to buy on amazon but currently gonna buy one and hopefully it fits.
I found a workaround. You can get an electric screwdriver/drill to lock onto the head of the oval like you’re locking onto a drill bit. Worked for me.
Thank you, this helped me clean our Citiz.
Unfortunately I had just bought a new replacement, which I will keep as a spare.
Apart from the 4mm oval “industry standard” screws and plastic panels, it was pretty easy when following your cleaning instructions.
Cleaning that plastic filter should be easier, it almost feels like a “designed to fail” bottleneck. After cleaning it ran like new, not a drop after multiple cups. Very pleased with the result. I also took a look at the o-ring which was more difficult than expected and in my my case unnecessary. There is a metal shim / spring that can easily be placed the wrong way. It is amazing how much plastic these machines are, explains the “relatively” low price. Long story short, again thanks for putting this online.
For the metal shim and spring, which way do they go? They fell out and I have no idea where they were.
@@KyleGroth the gap in the metal Oring should be at the top "12 o'clock"
Great video, Adrian. Made the dissasembly, cleaning and assembly process very very easy. Thanks to you my Nespresso machine is back in perfect shape
If I could give a thousand likes, I would!
Thanks for your time and help!
Great and informative video. With your help I could repair my TX170 and now it works fine again 👍🏼 Thank you very much and greetings from Austria 🇦🇹
Thank you so much. With your step by step guide and my patience, trial and error I succeeded and fixed an original machine! Once it was all opened and cleaned there was no more leakage! Mine was a magimix and a little different but easy to adjust to my citiz. Thank you!
If you already have a screwdriver set with various special bits, then try the SP10 (Spanner bit size 10) It works great on my Citiz.
Thank you very much. My machine is still leaking water do you have an idea where that is coming from
Almost Sounds like Arnold Swarzenegger .. doinga tear down video... Love it..
Great video. Im in need of a pressure relief valve. Anyone know of where I could purchase one?
Many Thanks, cleaning the round gauze worked, didnt need to change the o-ring
Great video, helped a lot. One question, what is the size of the o-ring that you replaced?
Any ideas on the size? I think it’s 38mm
Thank you for your Videos. I saved several euros by repairing!
Great video Adrian - it helped me disassemble my leaking Citiz! It seems like I need to replace the O-ring in the brewing unit; what are the exact specs for that O-ring? You mention 20mm, but it's more like inner diameter of 32 or 33mm and thickness of 2 or 2.3mm (= external diameter of 36 or 37mm)? Haven't been able to find the specs yet, so would be really helpful if you have them and could share ;-)
Thank you very much for the video! Tomorrow I will make repairs! If I succeed, I will write!
Mine can't turn on suspect heater element sensor needs replacement.how to disassemble the bottom to have access to thermal sensor
Thanks for this video! My Citiz works except I cannot reset the brew times. When I push either button, it only runs for a couple seconds. I can hold the button to keep it flowing, but even then it shuts off. Not sure if there's a replacement upper command console, or if that's the issue. Maybe someone else has had this problem.
reset the cup brewing size
Turn the machine off.
Press and hold down the Lungo button for 5 seconds.
The LEDs will blink fast 3 times to indicate it has been reset to Factory settings.
The LEDs will continue to blink normally as the machine heats up until ready to use.
Steady lights: machine is ready
Thank you. Diffuser plate clean and new O ring but still leaks clean water. Any ideas?
Did you manage to do It? Did you clean the part which the coffees passes through once it's gone through the diffuser plate? Mine was completely clogged, poured boiling water through and gave it a clean with a toothbrush and works spot on now
Do you know the size of the o-ring? Mine looks perfectly fine, but I have thoroughly cleaned the spout head and the micro holes leading to it, and it is still leaking inside the used capsule chamber. Any suggestions?
Hi Adrian, I watched yours video, disassemble machine and after I removed a coffee capsule holder to check a rubber some metal flat ring fall out. It is waved and open 🫣👀 should I exchange it or put it back? Many thx
Thank you I am going to try this on my machine. Regards from Miami
@benassy69 thank you for your guide. I have followed all steps and machine got cleaned up. However, water is still pouring into the cups chamber. The cups are not perforated at the end. Also without cups it partly pours into the chamber, so there is a leakage there. Any ideas what I could try?
Hi Adrian, I just disassembled and clean up inside, the o-ring doesn’t seems aged and the filter isn’t blocked either. I cleaned them all but the water still pour after I tried to brew pure water without any capsule inside. The water is pour inside the chamber and go into the waste basket. I think it is at least 20ml each time. It cause my wooden table surface expanded after absorbing the water 😢 and also waste a lot of water. Do you think change the O-ring will help?
Any luck?
thank you very much for your clearly explaination
Hey thanks for the video. Where do you buy the oring? The inside if it is flat isnt possible to find it anywhere cheers
Adrian your videos are excellent. Can I send you a video of my CitiZ problem? Water leaks out at the entrance to the thermoblock.
Yes. Please do so. My email is benassy_69@yahoo.com
Thanks! I was able to fix my machine.
Thanks for the video, it's help me solve my issue
Sensationel! you have the code of the oring? Very thanks!
Hello! How do you do? I found a pin with a small spring, and I don't know where this part is from, can you help me?
Same, it goes into the area where the water line connects via the retaining clip. I am trying to figure out how it actually goes back in properly but so far it seem to be a plunger to prevent water from coming backwards out of the machine possibly. I am still trying to figure out the proper positioning for how it goes back in.
Hello I changed the oring on my nespresso krups xn7100 and cleaned up the coffee remnants and it continues to pour water out. can you give me a hand
Is the water coming out in the used capsule chamber? Or is it inside the unit?
@@benassy69I uploaded a video with the problem

Wow something is not ok. 1. Have you tried using a capsule and see if still drips? 2. Is the o-ring the correct thickness? 3. Try expanding a little bit the spring inside The brewing mechanism.
I have a delonghi en110b coffee maker and I don't know how to clean the capsule holder area because I haven't been able to access it.
I have disassembled the first parts: the cover and the rain gutter but I cannot clean the filter that perforates the capsule because I don't know how to disassemble it. Can somebody help me? Thank you
10/10
hello, I couldn't find the solution I needed in any of your videos. Water also flows into the capsule holder when I make coffee, half into the cup and part into the holder. I see where it's going, but I don't know the solution, have you encountered such a problem? If you can speak Hungarian, maybe I can explain it more clearly.
I've just fixed such a problem on my Krups Citiz. If you remove the whole spout (not just the spout cover), you may find a load of old coffee gunge inside it. Clean this thoroughly, and also remove the black plastic disc (the part that makes contact with the front of the pod) Push a sewing pin through every hole, from both sides. Good luck!
where are the screws to remove?
On thr bottom of the unit.
Where do you find the tool to open the screws?
that why I'm here

Hello Adrian from Sydney Australia. Where did you source the o ring from, online maybe. Please help as I have really cleaned this machine well and I am ready to re assemble. Big Thanks.
Hello mate! I have bought a standard set of o-rings from the hardware store. The one that you want is the 20mm one. if you want to be sure then just search on amazon or any local online shop for " 20mm Replacement Silicone Rubber Seal Ring Compatible with Nespresso Machines". Good luck and take care!
Hey can you help me out with my machine the water is unable to dispenser. I tried many tricks nothing is working for me please can you help me.
In my machine only lungo button functions...espresso button does not function...how to fix this issue please?
Remove the button cover and expose the board under it. Take a cotton swab and soak it in alcohol. Rub the button board with the alcohol swab. Put everything back together!
what did you use to remove the screws beneath the citiz? Thanks.
Hi. I've used a custom made screwdriver out of a drilled rod.
Great job
Hi Adrian. My Citiz won’t come out of descale no matter what I try. Even Magimix couldn’t help
Keep pressing both buttons at same time more then 10 seconds
@@benassy69 Tried3,4,5,6,7,8,etc. lights either flash together or alternate. Filled tank full and run through 3 times but is stuck. Tried to reset, nothing. Is there a component that could be changed ? About to scrap it !
Clean the buttons contacts with alcohol. Could be that one of them is not making perfect contact.
@@benassy69 Hi, tried cleaning the contacts but still flashing so a scrapper. Thanks for your input
