I thought you would like it, and now with the translation you will even understand it better, but you understood well that they where angry about something. This was from a concert at Stade de France in Paris. Johnny Haliday was the biggest rockstar in France and sold over 110 million records worldwide, sadly he had health problems and died aged 74 in 1917.

This is why Lara should not be compared to any other singer. EVER. She stands alone in her GREATNESS.

People who only react to her beautiful ballads are missing out on her alter-ego rock star. She's not just multi-lingual she's multi-genre.

Johnny Hallyday is the greatest rock singer you (probably) never heard of. I first heard him sing in 1983 when I lived in France and he was already a huge star at that point. He was so loved by the French-speaking world -- just an awesome performer.
And this performance with Lara. Wow. I first heard her in the early 1990s and seeing the two of them together is a dream.

😁👍🏻Love your reaction, man! I WAS THERE, Yes, Stade de France ‘98!
My last concert before I left Europe for the US and then landing in Brazil! That was by far the most mesmerizing concert and this act in particular that I witnessed…Ever! Other times… greatest times of my life!!! FYI, Johnny Hallyday and yes, Lara Fabian were HUGE in France and french speaking countries back then and until now, actually, even though Johnny Hallyday passed away a few years back! But Lara Fabian is still here and kicking! She will always be the greatest from my side! She has Belgian roots… I am Belgian🤗
Bless you all and all of us in this uncertain future we are all facing! ❤️to all😘

What a beautiful language French is when sung. Being able to pronounce it properly is a completely different story for me.
Lara 💖.Johnny Hallyday, pseudonym of Jean-Philippe Smet, was a French singer and actor of Belgian descent. Hallyday is seen as the Elvis Presley of the Francophone world.

oh it's such a shame you did not get the translation. this is one of Johnny's most iconic songs from the 70's. Its about a guy that is been cornered by the police because he was so obsessed with his girlfriend he ended up killing her before she left him and in the end he ends up been shot by the police. The title translates as Requiem for a madman. Johnny Haliday was France's most beloved pop singer of all time and him and Lara were close friends. This was a massive concert done when he was already rather ill. When he died a couple of years ago he had a huge public viewing and the French President spoke at his funeral.

'It's such a shame [he] did not get the' performance these two put on in the rain. It was superior to this one.

I have few things to say about this video.
Some people can think the gestures are exaggerated. You have to put in context. This is a live concert in a stadium with 90 000 crowd public, in a rainy day. You have to do this so anyone can get the message.
About the song, it is based on a french movie from 1939. " Le jour se leve" , in english it is called " daybreak or " day raise".
With famous french actor: Jean Gabin. It is a story of a guy who killed his lover, because of love and now, at sun rise, the police is going to storm his apartment and kill him. In flashback , we see how the all story happended.
Lara and Johnny are french incons

I really dont feel that the gestures was exaggerated....they were just really in the song...it's such a dramatic and theatrical song.....they were so good....and seriously ,the statement "the devil come early but my soul isn't to sell anymore" Will seriously be the next Tatoo i Will be made

    • @MsMarienoire

And about the french Lyrics... It's a beautiful langage for sur.... But god, it's such a pain in the ass to learn!
