What is Nut Case Majima doing in Gion and who is this mysterious old man that says he's a relative to Haruka? Is Majima gonna disguise himself by cross dressing as a geisha? You know how crazy he is.

I think you can forfeit by pressing the select button and quitting out of it in the same way you can forfeit the Shogi game. I haven't tried it so I don't know for sure.

Except you actually see several adults perving on children so it's hard to consider a simple joke. Besides, the game begins with horrifying child trafficking scene so it lost all chances for localisation before it even properly began lol

Actually it's 4000 mon for one Ryo. In Youjimbou the rounin is offered 50 Ryo for his service, which is quite a lot.
It's known as a "Kiseru", typically used for smoking a type of tobacco known as "Kizami".
One Ryo is 10,000 mon. I don't know for sure how it compares to modern currency, but I've heard One Ryo is about $150.
