Whenever "they privatize" ANYTHING, (especially public works projects) the quality, and user-friendliness go to absolute sh**, and the charges you pay go through the roof as they are now PROFIT driven. You are exactly correct about those toll-road interstates that are "run" by these private entities. Basically, it is a profit-driven freeway and does NOT have to be to "interstate" standards even though it is called, designated, and signed an INTERSTATE! Totally ridiculous. I agree!
That's not always true. The Ohio turnpike goes overboard with build quality and pays prevailing wage for all of the construction workers working on the Turnpike all day long. (if you deliver to it you don't get it if you leave) They have crews waiting "incase" it snows to plow/salt etc. Sometimes you're right but not always the case.
That is because the Ohio Turnpike is not wholly owned by a private subsidiary. The Ohio Turnpike is operated under a commission of members appointed by the Governor of Ohio, hence making it primarily publicly owned.@@bradh74 Unlike the Indiana toll road is so-called "leased" by some corporation out of Australia. This is the primary reason why the Indiana toll road is so terrible, in almost every way.
