Steve you do a great job. You were a truck driver long before you were a RUclipsr. Your videos are great. With the the trucking, pilot escort, the shop and your personal life. Sounds to me like you have a full plate. Keep up the good work and be safe out there.
21:22 I used to haul loaders, bulldozers and other equipment for projects around my local county. Myrtle Beach is basically a city surrounded by nothing. There’s so many narrow back roads and low soft shoulders. It’s swampy and flat around here and especially bad during rainy spells. I can’t count how many times I barely squeezed by with oncoming traffic on the back roads of Horry and Georgetown counties, tracks hanging off both sides of the trailer.
I did basically the same thing hauling my parents equipment. On tight WNC mountain roads. Id do that before hauling Reefer trailers or livestock. Just something else to worry about. I got trailer off road couple of times. Back Track loader off sideways pull trailer back in Rd keep on trucking. We had long haul tractor trailers too but I never left WNC, upstate SC , GA. Speaking of Myrtle Beach hurricane Hugo I had a single wide trailer in Ocean lakes camping resort. My father went down after. He called said good news said my trailer is a yacht now. Problem is, he couldn't find it. Old man made any situation funny. I thanked God It was for vacation and still had my home In Hendersonville NC . 😊
@@EricFortuneJr. I went there in 2001 OL last time had a blast. Rented a single wide ,with an addition on it golf cart the works. WOW, I dont know how you drive so calm and relaxed. I drive a small suv and its crazy enough for me. I am not a trucker but your videos have taught me a lot and to give truckers extra space and I hope others learn from your videos as well.
I drive truck, and you have to remain calm and focused. If you lose the plot, you have enough tonnage to wipe out anything. If you ever wonder why truckers snap, now you know.
Steve, I go through Chicago periodically. Any time I come up on a oversize, I usually hold back and leave them room. Just in case they need it to get around the idiots. Half these drivers can’t even get out of their own way.. As far as that one driver that said you didn’t even signal. I’ve watched enough of your videos to know that you use your turn signals at least 99.999% of the time. 😁 Love the channel. Be safe out there. 👍✌️🙏
I was on active duty in the Army for 20 years, many combat tours, was shot at in three foreign countries; and I will gladly go back to combat before I would drive in Chicago.
12'4" yours is up high. I've done John Deere Sprayer's. 12'4" wide. 14'4" tall with outriggers out. tis low to the toe..... love the channel! stay safe.
Back in the 80’s on the penn turnpike I dropped an injector in the 238 Detroit I was driving. Carhauler loaded with 5 Chevy Suburbans headed to the ports. I was in a construction zone, single lane with cars behind me for a mile or more. One idiot behind me got impatient and drove through the cones on my right to get around me. Several cars followed. He came to a sudden stop when the car dropped into an opening where the concrete had been cut out and then the car behind him followed etc. Best laugh ever.
Great video Steve! Traffic can be a pain in the butt as far as Chicago. You handled it well my friend. God bless you sir and please be safe in your travels!
Definitely not a hater. I respect what you do. Watching the yacht haul educated me as a 4 wheeler to the extra problems and safety concerns involved with an oversized load.
Thanks a hell lot Steve!!!! cutting the video on a cliff hanger! at first I was thinking it was the colored silicone gasket that links the two air intake pipes together. but when the clamp busted on mine I couldn’t run faster than 20 miles an hour & the engine just roared with black smoke rolling out of the exhaust pipes. replaced the clamp & the truck ran fine. but since yours ran 40 mile an hour must be something else
Man you come threw my town like all the time. I park my Marshmallow there at the 223 where you where passing and talking about warner. Just before the 226 exit of to the right was my farm.
Chicago is insane! I was there for training and I-80 is non stop 24 hours. And you were in my hood...Youngstown, I'm on those roads all the time but I still haven't caught sight of Orwell, but I keep looking!
Steve, my dad was in WWII Army Air, and drove trucks (FB, OL), until a trainee got him killed on I 40 in 1971. I remember him saying that, "If you're taking flack son, you're probably over the target! Hold your course!" Thats all I have to say to these, "Truck Sim Cowboys," that have never pulled anything longer, or wider, than their itty bitty frankfurters! Roll on brother! The biggest reason for the tilt forward if noise, and better ground plane. The wind going by should tip the major part of the "stinger" part of the antenna back up to a vertical plane. Tests have shown that the antenna at a 45 degree angle will reduce static and give you better transmitting range
Love the truck on the trailer but think your camera angles are brilliant and much safer than some other drivers, you use your hands for driving rather than juggling things when you are driving a rig regardless of the load, so you spend money on your equipment for your truck views which in my opinion is a much much safer way to get videos for channel, big respect for you Steve. Good luck and safe travels for you in the future.👍
And as a after thought for my comment, its driver choice but if it was me I would have a 360 camera view on a screen in the cab, this would give you peace of mind that any car or truck who are not paying attention to the vehicle you are driving. These themselves would have a live view in the cab but if connected to a dvr it would remove the need for all the go-pros, and these are available wireless so they would be able to be attached to any trailer you are pulling. Just something I have thought about a few times.
Heading Chicago way next week then up to Tomah to see family. I hated driving in Chicago (grew up in the area) . Drove my bike once and people actually tried to share my lane while I was in it.
Love your videos I drove tractor trailer for many years but gave it up during covid because I couldn’t renew my CDL so I did my other love as a EMT in jersey now I am really thinking hard on getting my CDL back so you expire me to get it back ty brother for what you do and the hatters have nothing better to do so don’t let them take away from you just block them and move on. Hope to see you on the road one day.
I don't know why but this video reminded me of a trip I took with my dad in the 80's when he hauled lumber outta Ky. It was in Illinois and I think our delivery was in St. Louis just going nice and easy down the interstate that afternoon when a D.O.T. slipped in behind us kinda close. He followed us for several miles like that with no drama until we saw someone's mud flap hanger lying in the road. My father steered around it the best he could but his rear most trailer tires caught part of it and sent it sailing right at the D.O.T.'s car. Turns out it whacked the light bar on top of his car and totally destroyed it. He whipped out around us, then got in front, signaling us to pull over. Right off the bat the officer is thinking that something had fell off our truck and hit his car. He was red hot mad and walking around and around the truck looking for absolutely anything he could but found nothing. My father kept telling him what he thought it was but the guy didn't want to believe it. It was probably over an hour he checked the truck then he'd talk for a bit then check the truck, then talk a bit, over and over. I don't believe I've ever seen anyone in law enforcement so mad, scared, bewildered, stumped and then defeated all at once.
Running tanker occasionally through Chicago en route to Milwaukee on the Tri-State Tollway is good for raising your blood pressure, too…those steering wheel holders have no regards for hazmat or oversize. Having done both, there’s times that I miss doing oversize hauling but morons like that curb my appetite for it. Roll safe out there….
I pulla van, every time I’m going pass an oversize I ask if it’s ok to pass and make sure I pass with plenty of space. I’m terrified of freak cross winds and crash into me, especially the light oversize loads

G'day Steve how are ya mate I'm just watching one of your videos and your talking about the people who get on and hate on you well if they hate you why do they keep watching your videos it's obvious they aren't truck drivers and if they are truck drivers I bet they don't do what you do carrying big heavy loads
Always gotta love the comments from people looking stuff up online and saying you didn’t do something “right” when what is right changes based on the situation that you’re in. Especially the people that don’t understand why you decided you were gonna take up more road after that Pete with a clear lane passed so close to you. I get it. Thin lanes, wide load with crazy ignorant drivers....
Well an average lane is 12 ft. I'm wider than that. In construction they're down to 10 ft. So no matter what, I'm in two lanes. Basic math.
Hi, Steve.Didn't you fix your truck already?I'm hoping there's no other issues with it.I'm hoping you're i'm hoping you can fix the problem on your truck After this load, so hopefully we get back to Wisconsin.Thank You can fix it and I love watching your RUclips videos. There are very educational videos so keep up the good work
It’s turbo time!! Luckily it didn’t. blow up apart and start sucking oil
Is the motor in your cabover upgraded to meet the new bullshit emissions? Just curious.
Listening to your commentary, what comes to mind is you can take the boy out of New Jersey, but you can't take New Jersey out of the boy. From a fellow "Jerseyite" I love it. Keep up the good work Steve!
Facts
Problems with Orwell, idiots in traffic with no common sense. What else can go wrong? Better days ahead Steve. Toni and Chris says hi.
Hard staying cool over that silver van isn’t it 😂
Brother, it would be so cool, and funny as hell, to watch you and (RUclips) "OTR Bandit," convoy on a run or two! Hes out of the Midwest. That run may not be as he says, "Man-Boy," friendly, but like I told him, "Truckin' is truckin'," Fu#$ng, is whatever you make it!".… I love you both!
G'day Steve how are ya mate I'm just watching one of your videos and your talking about the people who get on and hate on you well if they hate you why do they keep watching your videos it's obvious they aren't truck drivers and if they are truck drivers I bet they don't do what you do carrying big heavy loads
Could even be lost a boot on the intake side of the turbo
Did the throttle linkage slip, not getting full throttle?
Good evening brother your fuel filters are boost boots maybe
You probably need new spark plugs. Lol😂
Hi FSC
Always gotta love the comments from people looking stuff up online and saying you didn’t do something “right” when what is right changes based on the situation that you’re in.
Especially the people that don’t understand why you decided you were gonna take up more road after that Pete with a clear lane passed so close to you. I get it. Make it so no one else is tempted to pull the same BS.
Is Orwell's driver side bumper strobe busted?
That's all part of the job dealing with all the traffic oversize or not!!
Heartless Express
Hey FSC, I see you’re starting some merch (tshirts). I am in the welding business and wanting to do shirts but with a truck on them.
Any recommendations on who can supply a well made shirt with the graphics?
btw: you do a terrific job filming and escorting for Gentry! Thanks
