I love that line from Dirty dancing ' the steps aren't enough you have to feel the music' I love how Patrick is talking about emotion here and connection with your partner. This is what makes a great dancer. Dancing is definitely in the mind and then steps just follow. Such an amazing and beautiful couple. Patrick's mother must have been very proud of them both.x

Wonderful video and so good to see him with Lisa dance and instruct students. Nice to meet Mom ❤️ who nurtured her children so well. Patrick (Buddy) my favourite actor and favorite dancer. All around super talented man. So sad we lost him. He died too young.

Wonderful to watch Patrick express his passion for dancing along with his great respect for his mother. For him, dancing was more than just movement. It was an emotional connection with your partner. For him, it was his wife Lisa Niemi. He wanted her for "Dirty Dancing" but the studio cast Jennifer Grey. Patrick danced with his wife later on at an awards show and in a dance film. They were soul mates. Poetry in motion and in life. He left us way too soon.
Wow. None of my dance instructors ever seemed as knowledgeable or passionate about dance as Miss Patsy. I would have loved to have been taught by her.
Lord knows I wouldn't have complained about any tidbits offered by Patrick, either. 😉😄

@@patriciabrower532 IDK if they did or not, but nowadays couples even married are called partners.
As a wife and now widow I personally find it extremely demeaning to be referred to as a partner. Partners are business people or any gay partnership in my opinion.
I'd prefer to keep my Earned titles as Wife 40 years and now Widow.
@@annahgibbus8 I mean,t dance partner. I,m not one to like having to give a long explanation. But I,m the same way my husband is my husband. Partner is new age which is a Sin against God. Just my opinion.

Still grieving and apparently over sensitive about titles of wife, husband or partners.
BTW I find it fasinating how he lifts her like a feather. Granted she's in excellent shape and thin, but he sure makes lifting 100 lbs or so look so easy and graceful.

I,m an ex dancer/choreographer and loved the dance moves in Dirty Dancing when they were showing off till the older gentlemen walked in the room and their reaction was so priceless. Like an oh crap look on their faces lol. Hope that was ok to say. And no apologies needed it,s ok. Anyways my kind of classes were jazz tap ballet and acrobatics. I was once a self taught contortionist and did a beautiful acrobatics routine to Scarborough Fair/Canticle song by Simon and Garfunkel for the 2 hour show. We were the only High School in San Diego that had a dance production class. This was in 1976 so fast forward to 2014 when my husband and I started attending the prayer meetings every Tuesday at our Church right? So our lead man that started this had to go into the hospital for personal reasons, anyways the lady named Pam and if coarse with her married name is what we know her by. Then one day she starts talking about the time she was not only a gym teacher but was also the teacher for our High School in 1976 in dance production and tells us her Maiden name and I,m like OMG Miss Obeyashi? It,s me Patti Castro!! And we both were with our mouths wide open in shock wondering how we didn,t recognize each other lol. Well she,s obviously aged but her voice is the same but I still look the same as in High School but we were so glad to see each other again. She really loved my routine and couldn,t stop ooowing and awwwwing when I performed my routine at the show and not only got a standing ovation the two nights of the show but the students in school couldn,t stop talking about my dance. Oh now you like me were my thoughts from girls that were mean to me and everybody at school came to me for my autograph when we received our Calumets. (Our School annuals). So once in a while I,ll tease her at the meetings when we get silly and tell her yes Miss Obeyashi and it,s such an honor to me being in the prayer meetings with her. I,m so jazzed that she approves of my husband cause even with long hair he,s a true gentleman and very helpful and very protective of women the elderly and young children. Lol I hope you didn,t mind my sharing a bit of my school days story. And no pity ok? But I can understand why she didn,t recognize me at first cause I,m now wheelchair bound and my hair is died a lighter brown that goes well with my eyes. Here,s a kicker about my husband. When his hair is a little past his shoulders, everybody says he looks like Jesus and I teasingly say great! There goes our sex life. Lol 🤭 But when he has his hair short like he,s in the service then everyone thinks he,s a police officer. So I guess I have two husband's yikes!!! Well I hope you enjoyed my silly post it was good communicating with you. And my apologies if you,re not a believer but if you are great! I have to say I missed going to Church at first till they reopened it again but very early in the morning but on the weekends they hold masses in the parking lot safely apart from each other and still have to wear our masks. They were made for each other. I wish they did a movie together when they were younger, not older. It's a pity that it took them to make it happen. Why Hollywood didn't make a movie of them together when they were in their prime is beyond me. Their passion is perfection. What a huge opportunity missed in movie history.
