I currently have 3 mustangs…. One via a makeover, one via an adoption thru the AIP and one I adopted for a TIP Challenge. There are several programs for adopting Mustangs. All the programs are as good or bad as the people involved. Thank you for promoting the Mustangs. I love following you.
My riding days are over. I wish that I had known about you when I was younger. I have had some very good horses but I didn’t have the knowledge to help them be the best they could be. What a shame for me and them.
Enjoyed your video.
Watching from North Central Nebraska.
Great to be “going along” with you and Trigger to this show 👍😀
Trigger seems very settled. He's a lovely looking horse. I really like Mustangs, though as i'm from the UK I don;t know of anyone here with one.
Wishing you all the best for the show🍀🍀🍀, and look forward to seeing the video of it!
Missed the live, but no problems hearing you on the replay! Good luck
So happy I found this video. Looking forward to seeing the clips from the show. Enjoy
Good luck at the show! Trigger looks pretty relaxed. My husband used to work in the Franklin/Murfreesboro, TN area.
I rode my friends mustang. He was so smooth. I enjoyed riding him. I hope there are some videos with Trigger performing at this show.
That’s the plan;). It won’t be live, but I’ll video his runs for him to share.
I just love you and family. You all love all horses. Many good Trainers wouldn't ride a Mustang or show.
Good morning all. Thank you Tim for sharing your prep work at show. Thank you Tim & Melinda for video.😃😇
You are very welcome! So glad sound worked when we restarted. Thanks for always watching and commenting 💕
Bj Atnip- I tried responding before the Live cut out, but it was too late. We are at Williamson County AG Expo Center in Franklin TN
I'm from East Tennessee and it's embarrassing that the arenas are not in better shape there!
We would love to have Tim come to the Tennessee horse expo in Murfreesboro TN in March 2025!
Good luck Trigger and Tim
I respect people who can and do work with mustangs. I freely admit that I'm not one of them. I like domestics!
From SW Oregon-This is great. Thank you!
They're super smart. I love them.
Thanks Tim for the video, I love how relaxed Trigger is. I think you two should do well! Proving once again that proper preparation is the only way to go!
Hear you fine in Delaware.
When you haul horses. Do you give them breaks on the road? How often/length of time?
when showing; what training can you do for horses to prep them for new places and shows?
How many days are you at this show?
Thanks for always sharing so much information!
Great questions! I’ll send them to Tim for him to respond.
@@MalindaRyan-xi7et thank you!

Go Tim and Trigger. You both got this. Wishing you all the best. 💕
❤❤❤
He's a very happy horse😅
Is it custom to not clip the pasturns of the horse the way Quarters, Paints, Appaloosas do? Are his ears clipped, muzzle? I always love to learn about different show habits of preparing a horse for shows.
Most people don’t clip mustangs except for the brand. We love to show off the brand.
You typically don't clip mustangs but in addition to that most of the way quarter horses are usually clipped in illegal for ranch classes even at quarter horse shows.
I was just admiring his feathering and before that back lighting showed off his hairy jaw area. It's great to see a horse like him in his natural hairy state😃
Watching from Alabama
Hi!!
Will you be able to post any videos from the show?
That’s the plan;). It won’t be live, but I’m planning to video his runs and he’ll share them.
Thanks for sharing, Tim. I love seeing mustangs work and perform. Trigger is such a lovely Mustang! I am a caretaker for one domestic senior, 2 BLM Mustangs, and one unbranded baby born at our Refuge in 2020. He reminds me of our baby who is very domesticated and a pleasure to work with. I agree with you 💯 when you said there is a big difference between the temperment when you have one born into captivity vs. being born wild. Our two BLM mustangs are more quirky and have those wild instincts. They really are a pleasure to work with. I have enjoyed every minute I have spent with them.
If he wasn’t born in the wild why is he considered a mustang?
Also Thank YOU letting people know that Inmates need jobs. Dogs. cats. horses .
Sounds good in ohio
Do you like riding mustangs. I always thought they were unpredictable.
I can just speak for myself and I have a mustang.
I had two major challenges with her:
1. Trust
2. Accepting other people than myself
The trust part is the key. A mustang has to accept you as a leader on a much deeper level than a domestic horse.
It took me 9 months!!!!
Now she looks at me if we are in situation. Before she would take over.
On the other side she trust me more than her fellow horses. She is only 4 years. That is big.
I love her adventures nature. Her willingness and love to just explore with me. So yes, I love riding her.
I love her, but I believe Tim is doing a great job in pointing out the differences. Too many mustang adopters struggle with them and don’t understand what they are getting themselves into.
By the way, I also had no clue about mustangs, but my mare and I are able to figure it out. 😂
I have 50 years of horse experience.
His response was… I like riding anything that doesn’t want to buck me off. 😂

unfortunately the aip (mustang adoption program) is rife with abuse, and many "adopted" mustangs are suffering from it. there are bills in congress to do something about this, as well as to stop other practices that amount to animal abuse, but so far they haven't been adopted. blm has some good people but as an institution they've done quite a bit of damage to wild horses. it's good to see mustangs like trigger and his mother who've met with a soft landing.
I hate their cruel chopper roundups where they run down pregnant mares or mares with foals like it is a video game
My mustang just had her check up from BLM. I learned that they really want to check now on all adopted mustangs to ensure a good care. I don’t know if that applies to all states, but for sure to CA and NV.
@@shelmstedt amazing they pretend to care abt “humane “Trmt” when the horses are treated horribly by BLM
This is not the place for those conversations.
This is not the place for those conversations.
Sorry but i just have to ask (being a dressagerider), why don't any of the westernriders use a helmet?
(Im just a bit worried as you ride so many different horses if you were to fall off or get kicked or stepped on).
Seemes to be some difference between western and dressage/jumping + other types of riding. But most of us have just as sensetive heads 🙈
Thankyou for bringing us along with you and taking the time to explain to us what happens at the show. Really excited to see how your classes go. 🦘
