Glover's Reef when you walk into Coney Island's New York Aquarium in Brooklyn are fish from the Caribbean linking Conservation Hall.
From the pinniped family are California Sea Lions & Harbor Seals.
Heaviest member of the weasel family that keeps sea urchins for destroying Pacific Ocean's Kelp Forests is the Sea Otter.
Black Footed African Penguin all the way from coastal waters of Africa & endangered penguin in the bird family.
Saturday, June 30, 2018 was the grand opening of Ocean Wonders Sharks exhibit at Coney Island's New York Aquarium in Brooklyn since I was part of WCS & History.

Why are the penguins so dead here compared to the ones at the Bronx Zoo? At the Bronx Zoo they seem so happy/playful, here they stare at walls and seem robotic. Maybe depression?
@Joseph Martinez there are some inside and outside. Plus they have different kinds of penguins too. Idk tho. Something about the penguins at the aquarium seem dead lol. It's not that they just stay on land, but they'll do stuff like stare at a wall and just stay still. I'd never seen a penguin behave like that ever. It was super weird when I went recently. The different kinds of penguins at the Bronx Zoo are so lively and just look happy. They don't just go in the water. It's like even when they're on land they're doing something that shows they're alive.
@Joseph Martinez lmao not tap dance, but not stare at a wall! It's alarming. Like are these penguins being treated right? Honestly, I haven't been to the Central Park Zoo enough. I wouldn't know. I'll visit one of these days and see lol. I'll get back to you

It's crazy how much beauty and ugliness exist on the same plane and in the same time
Why are all the tanks so crowded? Also isn't it super stressful as a fish having sharks swim by you nearly every 30 seconds or less? All the fish just seemed like they were feeling claustrophobic. Either get bigger tanks, have less fish or let all the fish go home back to the environment that they thrive best in with room to breathe. One last question, dont sharks have to be in a constant state of motion in order for them to filter the oxygen they need through gills? In one frame it looked like there was a baby shark stuck in a corner not moving? Maybe I'm mistaken but that is what it looked like.
Nah, i recently went and it’s fine. The shark exhibit actually educates you on tht myth. Sharks don’t need to be in a constant state of motion in order to filter oxygen. They’re much like fish in the sense that they can get oxygen even when they’re motionless. They actually say this in the exhibit bc a lot people believe that. Tbh i think the shark part is fine, what I dont like is the penguin exhibit bc they all look dead inside. At the Bronx Zoo, the Penguins are way more alive and seem happy/playful. At this aquarium they literally just stand still and stare at walls. It’s scary
The fish aren’t crowded. It’s a replica reef and that is typically the number found in a healthy ecosystem. Also many sharks don’t have to continually swim in order to breathe such as nurse sharks, bamboo sharks, horned sharks, etc.
