A weird fishing night to be alone...why were they going crazy??

- This was a weird solo overnight fishing trip. Graeme got it right in this film as he barely gets any rest as the Carp go on the feed and he was fishing from a swim he had never been to before. It started off really windy with nothing happening, then as dusk fell and the wind dropped it all kicked off and his rod buckled over to fish after fish. Not often it happens like this, and he was only on a short overnight trip of 12/14 hours as he had already been filming another lake during the day. He caught several big Carp on the same boilie ,his favourite that always goes on as hook bait. The film is an hour long,so sit back and relax...It’s Totally Awesome time again.

I don't do many overnighters ,but do actually find them quite enjoyable once all the hassle of setting up is out of the way.

Amazing night session…I have never seen fishing so frenetic in all my 58 years of fishing. This is only my 2nd carp video of yours I’ve seen, I loved the series with the Wilson Flyer, I had a 23’ one back in the early 80’s. Happy days. Double hook ups are always a chaotic mess. I usually just stand with my foot on the second rod while I play the first. Having the reel fall off as well was comedy gold though Graeme!

Been windy all week,all yesterday.all today.I'm fed up with it . I think the rivers might be ok next week though,I might try a few hours stream fishing myself as I have a few maggots left over from a Somerset lake session a couple of days ago.

Beer Belly Billy, that brought back a few memories. My very good friend Pete Boden had a bar of the same name in Nong Khai Thailand. Not a fisherman but I did not hold that against him. 😂 Excellent vid, keep strong, keep FISHING.
We get alot of carps around the 12-28 pounds in my local club. But for the monster carps I had to go to the river had a 44.7 pound common 3 years ago. But I'd rather get 2-6 smaller carp before I wait a week for 1 big one if even at all a bite on a River.
Try halfing those boilies in your pva mesh bag and even on the hair....put two halves on. Sometimes on these commercials the carp shy away from big old boilies and prefer smaller "bits". Give it a go next time. Great watching as always graham ❤

Hello Graeme , my 8 year old son and I have recently found your channel and we are really enjoying it so Thank you for posting these videos. You remind me of fishing as a boy with my grandad and dad, except those two were constantly bickering about bait, rigs, the weather you bloody name it. It's great because now I get to take my son fishing and teach him all the handed down "lore" and show him how beautiful and fun the British countryside and it's wildlife are, we have both picked up some great "tips" from you so Thank you. Your reel coming off during a double take was bloody hilarious, It actually had my laughing out loud and getting a funny look from my wife haha. Funny how it only seems to happen at the worst possible time, sods law I guess. Anyway please keep the videos coming.
I could easily edit out those sort of bits,but I seem to have a following from anglers that know stuff happens. I'm not sponsored paid so I do pretty much what I want on the filming side. I've always been my own boss,totally unemployable I'm afraid.

I love my Avon rod. Catch anything on it. From large barbel, carp and pike. First rod I ever bought and still going strong after 48 years.

That Avon rod has a lovely action. Far too many modern carp rods have a fast taper over gunned action that detracts from the fight in my opinion.
I have a couple that are absolute pigs to use. They probably cast a long way but they are about the most uncomfortable I have fished with.I rarely use them. Would take an 80lb Tarpon to get them bent in a hoop.
Anyone have any tips on where to cast with mesh bags/pva bags? Closer to islands recommended or out in the open?

Graham Gary here again from the Isle of wight you could try Ryde seafront by the boating lake or Ryde pier which is good you can get your bait from the tackle shop in union street half way down tight lines mate hope you will be making one of your films take care

I'll eat almost anything out of a tin for an overnighter but draw the line at having another "All day breakfast" in a tin..that was a kidney killer !!

It almost seems like a big group I hesitate to call it shoal of carp were feeding and stopped on your bait for an hour then moved on when they had cleaned it out . Just an opinion I have seen it on other waters .Rather see you beach fishing Graham 👍😊
When you was talking about the small potatoes you used as a lad,my first thought was gnocchi we could use that as bait, cheap and will soak up all the flavour we want,has anybody thought of it or used it as a bait?? Shallow fry the soaked gnocchi for a good hook.. chorizo fat and gnocchi fried.= Winner
Hi Grahame, I believe that I missed a chance to meet you and Mike today (14th June) at Grants Tackle Up. I had an air rifle serviced there and collected it on Wednesday and mentioned I was surprised to see him pop up on one of your vids and he said you were going to be there on Friday
Unfortunately it was my sons birthday and he had asked to go fishing which I had agreed to. We went to Willow Park fishery near Ash and managed one nice common carp, so that made his day.
I live in Camberley so hope I have the good fortune to bump into you in Grants one day.

I'm happy enough catching double figure Carp with the chance of a twenty..but I believe they have had the odd 30 come out of that lake. If one of those takes my bait that's fine,if not,I don't care,as long as I enjoy the session. Its all relative really.

Nothing is ever planned by me,I don't do diaries. I was boat fishing a couple of days ago out of Watchet but the wind was too bad to try a spot of shore fishing.

Pacific tuna boilies...check in the tackle shop. I don't do any of the wrap business,just cast out pretty much anywhere. I think the Carp move around. Good luck with it.

I've been an angler for over 70 years and do not know a thing about boilies, am I missing something?
It will probably take you 10 years to try and the different sizes,colour and flavours...But if you are just after a mix of species just stick to Sweetcorn,Breads,Maggots and Worms...they all still work.

Fantastic film another enjoyable session caught my first pirchs yesterday 3 under 2 lbs and a 5 lb one !

There's no way I can do those 48 hour stints,my brain would turn to mush. I just do a single overnighter of 12/14 hours then I get bored and I'm off to film a different type of fishing. That's why I have always been an all-round angler,at the moment I am into the sea fishing.

I think it has the label NG on it ? Mike bought it new at a show for £50 years ago. I've now used it on dozens of overnighters and it seems to do the job fine.

Why fish with 3 rods? Its hard enough fishing with 1.
But I paid for a 3-rod license ? Its fairly standard procedure fishing with 2/3 rods for Carp in the UK nowadays.
